On Chinese New Year's Eve, a time for family reunions across the country, Gu Weiwei filmed her last video advertisement for MG in Milan, Italy.
On New Year's Eve, I flew to Venice to prepare for the photo shoot the next day.
Because it coincided with the Venice Carnival, there were too many pedestrians during the day, which greatly affected the photography.
What should have been a two-hour shoot took nearly four hours to finish due to constant interruptions.
After filming wrapped, everyone returned to the hotel for a short rest. They were then invited by Martin and MG staff to join the Venice Carnival celebrations.
In addition, they also sent local specialty, colorful costumes and gorgeous Venetian masks.
Unable to return home for the Chinese New Year, Qiao Lin and his assistant Xiao Xu were also extremely excited. Soon they changed into their clothes and put on various exquisite masks, ready to go out and have a blast.
Gu Weiwei changed into a light blue retro dress and put on a gold mask.
Then, we went out with them, rode in gondolas in Venice, and followed the carnival procession through the city's crisscrossing canals.
The entire city of Venice seemed to be in a carnival, with everyone dressed in brightly colored retro costumes and wearing exaggerated masks, making it impossible to see anyone's face.
Assistant Xiao Xu was dazzled by the sights and kept pointing at people with exaggerated and bizarre masks, urging them to watch along.
The group eventually made their way to St. Mark's Square, where a band dressed in uniform and wearing masks was playing music.
In the square, countless people dressed in gorgeous costumes and wearing Venetian masks were dancing joyfully.
"Let's go, let's start our party!"
After Martin Green finished speaking to them, he went into the group first and started dancing to the music.
Gu Weiwei was pulled in by her assistant and was quickly swept up by the surrounding revelers, dancing and singing along.
A group of people followed the carnival procession, traversing almost half of Venice, until they finally found a gondola, exhausted, to take them back to their hotel as darkness fell.
The hotel is built right on the waterfront; the hotel lobby is just a few steps from the shore.
A group of people said goodnight to each other in the elevator and went back to their respective rooms.
Gu Weiwei returned to her room and rummaged through her bag but couldn't find her room key. She scratched her head in frustration.
Could it be that he was having too much fun outside and lost his room key?
She searched through her bag again but still couldn't find it. With a sigh, she prepared to go downstairs to the front desk to get her new room key.
As soon as I turned around, the door opened by itself.
She turned her head and saw a tall man in a navy blue, high-end, handmade custom-made suit standing in the doorway.
"..."
Was she too tired from playing and her eyes were playing too hard?
How did she see Fu Hanzheng in her room? Wasn't he spending the New Year in the capital?
Fu Hanzheng sized up the girl, who was dressed in strange clothes and wearing a mask.
"No time to go home for the Lunar New Year, but time to celebrate a carnival here?"
Gu Weiwei approached, hugged her waist, and looked up at her with a smile, asking.
What brings you here?
Instead of celebrating the Lunar New Year at home, I went to Venice.
Fu Hanzheng reached out and removed the mask from her face, his thin lips capturing her soft, delicate lips in a long, lingering kiss before finally releasing her and replying.
"Miss you."
Gu Weiwei kicked the door shut and tilted her head back to kiss him.
From the small living room, their kisses moved to the bedroom inside. After several days apart, their kisses gradually became more and more passionate and intoxicating.
Fu Hanzheng stopped the kiss with his last shred of reason and whispered.
"No condom."
Gu Weiwei blushed, pursed her lips, and whispered.
"Today is a safe period."
