It was already dawn when we returned to the capital.
Fu Hanzheng did not take her directly back to the Tianshui villa, but instead took her to the hospital first.
Accompanying them to the hospital were Yuan Shuo, who had been shot, and Yuan Meng, who was with him.
Fu Hanzheng was worried, so he asked He Chi to examine her and do blood tests first.
After undergoing various tests and having her blood drawn, Gu Weiwei returned to her ward and exhaustedly climbed into bed.
Then, he said, having given up half the space.
"Come up."
Fu Hanzheng raised an eyebrow in surprise, "Take a rest for a while, we'll talk about it when we get back."
"You..." Gu Weiwei understood the meaning behind his words and said angrily, "What are you thinking? I told you to come up and lie down for a while!"
His dark circles were so heavy, and his eyes were bloodshot; I wonder how long it had been since he'd had a proper rest.
Moreover, she looked a bit thinner than before she left.
She asked him to lie down with her for a while, but he actually thought she wanted to have sex with her there.

Fu Hanzheng couldn't refuse her, so he squeezed onto the bed and lay down with her in his arms.
Gu Weiwei nestled silently in his arms, her arms still wrapped around his waist, as if only in this way could she fall asleep peacefully.
Fu Hanzheng looked down at the person in his arms, and the tension that had been hanging over him these past few days finally subsided.
He knew all along that he couldn't bear the pain of losing her.
But when He Chi also gave him that terrible news, he felt utterly hopeless.

Fortunately, she returned, perfectly fine, back to his side.
After a while, Gu Weiwei thought he had fallen asleep, but when she looked up, she found that he was still looking at her with his eyes open.
Why aren't you asleep?
Fu Hanzheng's gaze softened. "I want to see you."
Looking at his haggard face, Gu Weiwei gently advised him.
"Can't you go to sleep first and watch it later?"
Fu Hanzheng chuckled, "But I haven't seen enough yet today."
Gu Weiwei was angry at someone who wouldn't go to sleep obediently, so she put on a stern face and said.
"Uncle Fu, don't you know that staying up late ages you quickly? Look at you..."
He wouldn't sleep no matter how much she coaxed him; she had to argue with him and provoke him.
Fu Hanzheng narrowed his phoenix eyes slightly. "What did you say?"
They're only nine years apart in age, yet she thinks he's too old?
Gu Weiwei nestled against his chest and spoke in a soft, gentle voice.
"You have no idea how dark your dark circles are; you could walk into a zoo and be with the pandas. It breaks my heart to see you not sleeping..."
Fu Hanzheng chuckled. So that's what he was worried about all this time.
He glanced at his wristwatch; the test results for He Chi should still be available in a few hours. He decided to stay and rest with her first.
If he doesn't sleep, it seems she won't sleep either.
Fu Hanzheng kissed her forehead. "Go to sleep."
Gu Weiwei tilted her head back and lightly kissed his lips, "You should go to sleep too."
The two smiled and closed their eyes contentedly to fall asleep.
He Chi came over with the test report. As soon as he pushed open the door, he saw the two of them huddled on the hospital bed, fast asleep.
Thinking that Fu Hanzheng had hardly rested since the incident, he was finally willing to sleep now.
So he quietly closed the door and left the ward.
Fu Shiqin happened to be taking a lunch break and, having nothing else to do, drove over to check on things.
He Chi stopped them immediately, saying, "Your brother and the others are asleep, don't go in."
Just as I was about to call home to tell them about the situation here, I bumped into Yuanmeng, who was coming out of the next ward with a cigarette in her mouth, looking for a place to smoke.
Fu Shiqin recognized her figure and realized she looked familiar. Then he remembered that she had come back with Yuan Shuo yesterday, so she must be the Yuan Bao's mother that Yuan Shuo had mentioned.
"Ah, you're that pervert!"
