After seeing the photographer's assistant off, Gu Weiwei sent the selected photos to Madam Fu, asking which one she wanted to keep at the old house.
After reading it, Mrs. Fu immediately called back.
"Have all the photos been sent over?"
"They just arrived. I picked out these few to enlarge and frame," Gu Weiwei said.
Upon hearing this, Madam Fu smiled and asked.
"When you come over tonight, could you bring the rest of the photos for us to see?"
Given Han Zheng's past temperament, she thought she would never see him get married in her lifetime. Now that he is really getting married, they are naturally eager to see what his wedding photos look like.
“Okay, I’ll bring it over later,” Gu Weiwei replied.
Mrs. Fu directed the servants to arrange things on the other end of the phone, and then asked her a question.
"Did Hanzheng tell you when he's coming back? I called him but he didn't answer."
“He said he’d be back as soon as he finished work, and he should be able to get back tonight,” Gu Weiwei said.
"Alright, alright." Mrs. Fu was relieved to hear that she had made contact. "You don't need to rush over. The house is still being set up and is in a mess. Come over after dark."
"Okay, thank you for your trouble, Auntie," Gu Weiwei said gratefully.
“We’re all family now, why are you being so formal?” Madam Fu chuckled, then, noticing the maid had made a mistake, hurriedly added, “We’re busy here, so we’ll talk later.”
Gu Weiwei hung up the phone and was about to go upstairs when the doorbell rang again.
The maid ran to open the door, and soon heard Xiao Yuanbao's childish voice.
"Wife! Wife!"
Hearing the familiar address, Gu Weiwei was both amused and exasperated as she bent down to pick up the child who had run in.
"Little Yuanbao, didn't we agree not to call me 'wife' anymore?"
The little guy made a face and pointed to the bear backpack on his back.
"Yuanbao brought you a gift."
Gu Weiwei put him down and helped him take off his teddy bear backpack.
The little guy clumsily zipped up the backpack himself, trying to take out the gift for her.
Yuan Shuo followed in and said helplessly.
"Little Yuanbao was eager to come and find you, so I brought him here first."
After all, once her birthday is over, he will be taking Xiao Yuanbao to the Dorrance family, and who knows how long it will be before they meet again.
"It's okay." Gu Weiwei reached out and patted Xiao Yuanbao's head.
After much effort, Xiao Yuanbao took the gift box with the bow tied to it out of his bag, presented it to her with both hands, and said...
Happy birthday, Weiwei Jiejie.
Gu Weiwei solemnly accepted his gift with both hands and asked.
"Can I open it now?"
Little Yuanbao nodded emphatically and said in his childish voice.
"Can."
Gu Weiwei carefully untied the ribbon, then opened the wrapping paper, and finally opened the box.
Finally, they took out the gift from inside.
The gift was a painting of her; the style was childlike yet cute and interesting.
When Xiao Yuanbao saw her open it, his eyes blinked rapidly.
Do you like porridge?
"I love it, I love it so much! Thank you so much, Little Yuanbao, for such a wonderful gift!" Gu Weiwei said happily.
After reading it, Yuan Shuo said in a low voice.
He drew it five times before he was satisfied.
Gu Weiwei reached out and hugged Xiao Yuanbao, then thanked him again.
"Thank you, I really like it."
This was the simplest gift she had ever received, but for three-year-old Yuanbao, it was filled with all his sincerity and heartfelt affection.
