Chapter 900 Ling Yan lowers her guard

Country A, Gu Zhai.

A week has passed since the agreed time, and the owner of the nine-eyed dzi bead that Gu Siting was waiting for still has not appeared.

Although the Gu family had been sending people to search and keep an eye out, the other party's whereabouts were elusive, and they had not found any information about that person.

Therefore, Gu Siting could only wait, waiting for that person to contact him.

This waiting made him anxious, yet he felt helpless.

However, Ling Yan's initial anxiety and fear turned into relief.

Ji Fang didn't stay at the Gu family's house for long before returning home. She packed her things, ready for Ling Yan to leave Country A at any time.

I couldn't leave her to take care of the family, so I called her almost every morning at breakfast to check on her.

However, compared to the tension and fear of the previous days, Ling Yan has calmed down these past few days.

Ji Fang called early in the morning, so she simply arranged a place to meet, since there were some things that were not convenient to discuss over the phone.

Ji Fang had been living in fear for many days. When she saw that her daughter was safe and sound, she couldn't help but hug her.

"I thought my daughter and I would never see each other again."

Ling Yan let her mother hug her for a few minutes, and looking at her obviously haggard mother, she smiled and said.

"Don't worry, nothing's wrong. I think we're just being overly anxious."

She also thought that the owner of the nine-eyed dzi bead would appear soon and tell Gu Siting that Gu Weiwei was really still alive.

She even had nightmares for several days in a row, dreaming that Gu Weiwei had returned, that Gu Weiwei was pointing her finger at her and saying that she was the murderer who killed her and that she would rip out her heart to pay for her life.

However, so many days have passed since the agreed time, and the owner of the Nine-Eyed Dzi Bead has not shown up at all.

"You mean, that person hasn't appeared yet, and Gu Siting doesn't know about Gu Weiwei?" Ji Fang asked in surprise.

"If he knew, would I still be able to come out and see you like this?" Ling Yan breathed a sigh of relief and said, "It's just that we're guilty, which is why we believe in those ghost and god stories. Once a person dies, they're dead. How could they still be alive in this world?"

Gu Weiwei has been dead for so long, lying coldly in that crystal coffin in the basement, her heart gone. How could she possibly come back to life?

Ji Fang breathed a sigh of relief after hearing her words, but she was still a little worried.

"Although the person hasn't shown up, we still need to be careful."

Ling Yan looked around and said softly.

"Mom, I think Gu Siting can't accept Gu Weiwei's death, so he imagined that she would still be alive."

There was no owner of the Nine-Eyed Dzi Bead, and there was no such thing as Gu Weiwei still being alive; it was all his imagination.

She only believed it was true because Gu Weiwei died because of her and because she felt guilty about Mu Weiwei's movie.

“But that Mu Weiwei… is really too suspicious,” Ji Fang said.

Even now, she still gets goosebumps when she recalls that scene from the movie.

Ling Yan, however, took it in stride, saying, "It's just a movie. Most movies like that are acted that way."

If Mu Weiwei were still alive, she would have already come forward to identify her as the murderer. Why wait until Gu Siting went to find her?

I was terrified myself; I never imagined I would believe such a ridiculous and laughable thing.

“But…” Ji Fang still felt that something was wrong.

It's too vague to dismiss all the previous doubts simply because that person didn't appear.
