Fu Shiqin had just finished moving his things and hadn't even had time to tidy up when He Chi came over with lobster skewers.
"Fu Laosan, tidy up the table."
After saying that, she went to her room, changed into some loungewear, and came out in slippers.
Fu Shiqin came out of the room and stared at He Chi for a moment.
"Don't tell me you live here too."
“I’ve been living here for a while now. It’s close to my hospital. I started living here as soon as Fu Shiyi didn’t come.”
As He Chi spoke, he sat down at the restaurant to prepare for dinner.
Fu Shiqin washed his hands and prepared to freeload a meal as well.
"Fu Xiaoer, get some beer from the fridge," He Chi called out to Fu Shiqin, pointing at the fridge.
Fu Shiqin opened the refrigerator and saw it was full of wine. He hummed in exasperation.
Are you planning to drink yourselves to death?
After saying that, he still took out three cans and drank with them.
He Chi opened the wine and snorted at Fu Shiqin.
“You know, your brother and sister-in-law are living together, why are you getting involved? You should have moved out long ago.”
"If it weren't for work to discuss, do you think I'd want to live with them?" Fu Shiqin complained.
Fu Shiyi glanced at him sideways and complained.
"Come on, you've always liked to follow our brother around like a tail since you were little."
Fu Shiqin took a sip of wine and said with a troubled expression.
"I'm telling you guys, I really feel like my brother is hiding something from us."
Fu Shiyi chuckled and said to He Chi, "His sixth sense."
"Isn't it normal for your brother to be keeping things from you?" He Chi said while munching on a kebab. "Aren't you keeping things from him too, like our team's affairs?"
“It’s not like that. I feel it’s something serious.” The more Fu Shiqin thought about it, the more suspicious it seemed.
They rarely see his brother, so they don't think there's a problem.
But since they see each other all the time, they'll feel something's wrong.
"Alright, your brother got married and he's hanging out with your sister-in-law instead of you, so don't be so disappointed." He Chi patted his shoulder sympathetically and said, "Your brother didn't tell her, but he told your sister-in-law, didn't he?"
“Yes, they discussed it in secret.” Fu Shiqin nodded.
“That’s right.” He Chi put his arm around his shoulder and earnestly advised, “Right now, only your brother’s wife is his real family. You’re just someone he picked up. You need to have that kind of self-awareness, understand?”
"Damn it, neither of you believe me."
Fu Shiqin was furious; it turned out that after all he had said, they still didn't believe him.
Fu Shiyi couldn't stand him anymore and said directly.
"If you're so curious, go ask your brother yourself."
At worst, he'll just get a beating from his brother.
“If he doesn’t tell you, it’s pointless to ask,” Fu Shiqin scoffed.
Lately, he's been feeling that his brother and sister-in-law are acting strangely. Although they're still constantly showing affection, something just doesn't feel right.
“If he tells the truth, then everything is fine. But if he tries to change the subject, then something is really wrong,” He Chi analyzed.
Fu Shiqin nodded, thinking it made sense, and looked at Fu Shiyi and He Chi.
"Then I'll ask about it tomorrow?"
“Go ahead and ask,” Fu Shiyi agreed.
Anyway, he's the one who's messed up, not the one who's going to suffer.
"Really?" Fu Shiqin was a little unsure.
"Of course I'll ask. Aren't you our brother's trusted little brother?" Fu Shiyi encouraged.
After hearing what they said, Fu Shiqin decided to ask his brother directly the next day to get to the bottom of things, so that he wouldn't feel guilty.
