The two of them chatted outside for a while before the medical staff went in to urge Gu Weiwei that her visiting time was over.
She came out of the ward, took off her mask, and saw Yuan Shuo looking exhausted.
"What's wrong? Is something tricky over there?"
With Kaman Dorrance in this state, it's inevitable that things will get a bit chaotic within the Dorrance family.
“That’s more than just troublesome, it’s deadly.” Yuan Shuo sighed and followed them toward the elevator, saying, “You all know what kind of background those people have. Although they’ve cleaned up their act and become businessmen, they’re still gangsters at heart.”
He was also puzzled as to how Kaman had managed to keep them under control all these years.
"You are too," Gu Weiwei reminded him, as if he himself had risen through the ranks of the legitimate world.
Yuan Shuo glanced at him sideways, "Knowing you has ruined my life."
If he hadn't met her, he might not have had to take over the family business left by his biological father.
“You’re wrong. You met Kaman first, not me,” Gu Weiwei said.
When Yuan Shuo came to find her, she was already a teenager.
By then, he had already been adopted by Kaman for several years.
“It’s because I met you two, father and daughter, that I’ve been ruined for the rest of my life,” Yuan Shuo retorted with dissatisfaction.
Gu Weiwei snorted, "That's right. If you hadn't met Kaman, you wouldn't have come looking for me. If you hadn't come looking for me, you wouldn't have met Yuan Meng. If you hadn't met Yuan Meng, you would still be a free and single dog."
Yuan Shuo was completely speechless after being confronted by him, and thinking about it, it didn't seem like such a bad thing after all.
Fu Hanzheng held Gu Weiwei's hand, a slight smile playing on his lips. If she really got into a verbal sparring match, no one could possibly take advantage of her.
The three of them went to an apartment near the hospital. Yuan Meng woke up and urged the maid to prepare dinner.
Yuan Meng raised an eyebrow and asked Yuan Shuo, who had just entered, looking rather withdrawn.
"What's wrong? Why are you looking so long?"
Gu Weiwei poured water, gave Fu Hanzheng a glass, and then took a sip herself before speaking.
"He regrets that if he hadn't met Kaman, he wouldn't have gone to the Dorrances' house, and if he hadn't gone to the Dorrances' house, he wouldn't have met me in Country A, and he certainly wouldn't have met you. He misses his carefree days as a single dog."
Yuan Meng sneered, "What are you missing? I can make your dream of being single come true anytime."
“That’s not what I said,” Yuan Shuo argued.
“But that’s what you mean,” Gu Weiwei said.
Before Yuan Shuo could refute, Fu Hanzheng also testified on her behalf.
That's roughly what he meant.
Yuan Meng sneered and snorted, glancing at Yuan Shuo as she spoke.
"Then let's get a divorce. You can go back to being a single dog, and I'll go find my second spring."
“You’re already so old, and you’re still talking about a second spring?” Yuan Shuo chuckled.
Yuan Meng raised her eyebrows slightly upon hearing his tone.
"You look down on me?"
“No, I’m stating the facts,” Yuan Shuo said.
She's over thirty, what chance does she have of a second spring?
"The truth is, if I go out now, I can make you wear ten green hats in one night." Yuan Meng confidently tossed her big wavy hair.
Gu Weiwei and Fu Hanzheng sat on the sofa, watching the show silently without saying a word.
Upon hearing this, Yuan Shuo immediately raised his hands in surrender.
"No, no, no, I'm afraid of green."
That's what she said, but she certainly had the looks to cheat on him, especially in Europe where relationships between men and women are more open, her tall and sexy figure made her a stunner in the eyes of men.
