Fu Shengying shook hands with Ding's father, took the microphone from his hand, and asked solemnly.
"Miss Ding Dongdong, are you willing to marry my son Fu Shiyi and have him as your husband, to love him for the rest of your life, whether in good times or bad, whether in wealth or poverty?"
Ding Dongdong nodded, tears glistening in her eyes.
"I do, I do, I do."
The host chuckled and said.
"Indeed, important things should be said three times."
The guests burst into laughter and applauded sincerely in blessing.
Gu Weiwei, watching the scene unfold in the hall, seemed to be affected as well, her eyes stinging with tears.
Fu Hanzheng reached out and took her hand, holding it tightly. "Why are you sad about their marriage?"
"I'm happy, not sad," Gu Weiwei emphasized.
Thinking about how Fu Shiyi and Ding Dongdong have come this far, it hasn't been easy for them. How could she not be moved that they are finally able to be together?
After the vows were exchanged, Fu Shiqin and Ling Jiao presented the rings, allowing the bride and groom to exchange them.
After that, they served tea to both sets of parents and officially started calling them "Mom and Dad".
Finally, it was time to catch the bouquet. Since it had been agreed upon beforehand, no one else was asked to catch it.
Ding Dongdong took the microphone from the host and said with a smile.
"This bouquet should be thrown out, but today I want to give it to an important friend, and I wish her that after receiving this bouquet, she will become the next bride to walk down the aisle."
Gu Weiwei watched the stage quietly, not glancing even once at Luo Qianqian and Gu Yunche's side.
Ding Dongdong, holding a bouquet, looked at the table where Luo Qianqian was sitting and called out.
"Qianqian, I want to give you this bouquet of flowers."
Luo Qianqian paused for a moment, then stood up, went on stage to accept the bouquet, and expressed her gratitude to the newlyweds.
Gu Yunche watched her go on stage, his gaze somewhat surprised, then somewhat enlightened, and finally just smiled helplessly.
So after all that, she actually wants to get married.
After the wedding ceremony, Ling Jiao, as a bridesmaid, accompanied Ding Dongdong back to the rest room.
She changed out of her wedding dress and into a light red evening gown.
Then, accompanied by the best man and maid of honor, they toasted the guests at each table.
Because Ding Dongdong was pregnant, the glass of wine in her hand was never touched; it was all drunk by Fu Shiqin and Fu Shiyi.
After making a token gesture at each table, Madam Fu called Ding Dongdong and Ling Jiao away to eat, leaving Fu Shiqin and Fu Shiyi to go and offer toasts themselves.
"What kind of thing did Mom do? She dragged both of them away. When we went to offer toasts, it was like we were getting married," Fu Shiqin muttered under his breath.
"Get lost, don't talk like we're so close," Fu Shiyi protested.
Fu Shiqin glanced at him sideways and reminded him.
"There's really no one in this world closer to you than me, since we've known each other since we were in our mother's womb."
Fu Shiyi glanced at his second brother, who looked exactly like him.
"It's not like I'd want to get to know you."
The two bantered with each other while toasting the guests at each table.
Seeing the downcast looks on Mr. and Mrs. Ding's faces, Madam Fu spoke gently.
"Even though they are married, you don't need to feel like your daughter has gotten married. Our family will just consider it as having gained another daughter, and your family will just consider it as your daughter having picked up a son."
"Mom, why did you pick it up?" Ding Dongdong asked with a chuckle.
Madam Fu glanced at the two brothers who were playing around not far away and said.
"Look at those two, only you two wouldn't mind."
