Before dinner, Fu Hanzheng called back to say that he hadn't finished dealing with company matters and might be back a little late.
Gu Weiwei didn't wait for him to come back for dinner. She ate with Yuan Meng and put the two children to sleep early.
Then, I went to the family theater to watch the movies I had made before.
Fu Hanzheng returned at almost 11 o'clock. He went back to the master bedroom but didn't see anyone, so he asked the maid and found the movie theater.
Gu Weiwei was so engrossed in watching that she didn't notice anyone coming in until he sat down next to her.
"I'm back."
As he spoke, he paused the recording, intending to watch it again tomorrow.
"It's not going to be long, let's rest after we finish watching it," Fu Hanzheng said gently.
Gu Weiwei saw that there was only half an hour left, so she continued playing the video.
"Why did you decide to watch your own movie?" Fu Hanzheng asked with a smile.
"What if someone at the film festival asks me and I don't even know what I filmed? That would be the end of me," Gu Weiwei said.
Fu Hanzheng reached out and took her hand, silently watching "Half-Dreaming, Half-Awake" with her.
Gu Weiwei recalled what Yuan Meng had said: that the movie had hidden her relationship with Ling Yan, and she couldn't help but feel a little down after watching it.
Fu Hanzheng noticed that she was in low spirits and asked her a question.
"What's wrong?"
Gu Weiwei shook her head, but she had received too much bad news lately.
The family and friends she once cherished turned out to be like that, which chilled her to the bone.
"Because of Ling Yan's matter?" Fu Hanzheng guessed.
Gu Weiwei looked at him in astonishment. Had this person learned mind-reading techniques? He always seemed to be able to easily guess what she was thinking.
"People and things that aren't worth it aren't worth thinking about anymore," Fu Hanzheng said gently.
Gu Weiwei pursed her lips and nodded, then picked up her phone to check the time.
"Let's go, it's getting late."
Back in the room, she first found Fu Hanzheng some pajamas before following him into the bathroom, where he helped her take off her suit jacket and loosen her tie.
Fu Hanzheng looked down at his wife, who was unbuttoning his shirt, and kissed her forehead.
Gu Weiwei looked up in astonishment, "You..."
Before she could finish speaking, warm, thin lips covered hers, drowning out all her questions.
She didn't flinch; instead, she tilted her head slightly and gently responded to the man's kiss.
However, as the man's hand slid down her clothes toward her waist, she instantly snapped out of her daze and released his lips.
Fu Hanzheng lowered his head again to kiss her, but she covered his mouth with her hand.
"What are you thinking about when you can't even dress yourself?"
Fu Hanzheng frowned in annoyance. At first, he thought it was a good thing to "injure" his hand, but now... he clearly felt it was a bad thing.
"It's just a minor injury, it won't have any impact."
Gu Weiwei removed the hand that was still pinching her waist, "Don't even think about it until your hand injury heals."
That kiss this morning clearly broke some strange seal.
Before, even when he kissed someone, it was always secretly. Now, he kisses them without warning.
Fu Hanzheng was very frustrated and wanted to say that his hand was not injured at all.
However, if he tells her, she will immediately assume that he deliberately lied to her, which may deepen the conflict.
So he has to keep pretending to be injured.
But that quack doctor He Chi, couldn't he have predicted a shorter recovery time? He said it would take two or three months to get better, which means he'd have to wait two or three months before he could do whatever he wanted.
Gu Weiwei took off his shirt and trousers, then left without looking back.
"Call me when you're done washing."
Fu Hanzheng was alone in the bathroom. He looked at his right hand, which was in a cast, and cursed Fu Shiqin for coming up with this terrible idea.
