Chapter 97 Reincarnation of a Fox Spirit

Lu Ziqian stumbled to the bedroom door, where Xiao Tao glared at him with hatred, her expression as if she wanted to devour him.

"Get out of my way! Miss is incredibly unlucky to have married you!"

"It's a wonder that Miss prepared medicine for you, yet you misunderstand her like this!"

"If you ask me, I wouldn't even give those drugs to a dog. I'd rather you die on the battlefield."

Zhou listened from the side and was naturally displeased when she heard Xiao Tao cursing her son.

But seeing his son's dejected state, accepting the beatings and scoldings, he knew that this was his fault again.

Oh, serves them right!

Why do you never learn your lesson? You're impulsive, easily angered, and prone to hurtful words. There will come a day when you can't make amends.

Ignoring Xiao Tao's angry curses, Lu Ziqian pushed open the door and went in. The room was pitch black. He turned on the light and immediately saw the thin figure huddled in the corner.

When Su Yujiao saw him approaching, she trembled violently, even her lips were trembling: "You...you don't come any closer."

She was on high alert, her eyes filled with the fear of seeing a demon.

Looking at her trembling with fear, Lu Ziqian couldn't help but stiffen, his feet seemingly rooted to the spot.

He opened his mouth, but found that his throat felt like it was stuffed with cotton, making it impossible for him to speak.

"sorry!"

I shouldn't have misunderstood you!

"I know it's no use explaining now; you already hate me."

"This was indeed my fault, and I don't want to make excuses for myself."

He shouted towards the door, "Moshu, bring the whip!"

Mo Shu quickly fetched a whip, and Lu Ziqian took off his shirt and knelt on the ground: "Beat her, beat her until the young mistress is appeased!"

"yes!"

Mo Shu didn't hesitate at all; normally he would have tried to persuade him.

But this time, even he felt that his master deserved a beating!

Snap!

Mo Shu didn't hold back at all when he lashed out with the whip. Lu Ziqian groaned, and his back was instantly torn open.

He gritted his teeth: "Keep fighting!"

Snap! Another lash, and the skin and flesh were torn open again, crisscrossing the first welt.

Then, the third, the fourth, the fifth...

"Stop hitting him."

"You all go out, I want to rest for a while," the woman said calmly.

"Jiaojiao, you've forgiven me?" He looked up at her expectantly.

Unexpectedly, Su Yujiao sneered: "If you die, how can you save my brother?"

“If it weren’t for my elder brother, even if you died in front of me today, I would never forgive you.”

"You don't deserve it at all!!"

"A person like you deserves to die alone."

With a bang, Lu Ziqian's face turned deathly pale. He covered his head with his hands and rolled on the ground in pain, as if those memories buried deep in his heart were gradually awakening.

Someone like you deserves to die alone!

Someone like you deserves to die alone!

He felt like he had heard this phrase somewhere before. Whenever he heard it, he would get a headache and feel terrified. He would scream and struggle uncontrollably. The suffocating fear seemed to be etched into his bones!

"Master, Master!?" Mo Shu looked flustered.

"Young Madam, what's wrong with Master? Please save him!"

Su Yujiao remained indifferent and unmoved.

Although she was curious about what had happened to him, she didn't want to save him now; she felt this might be his retribution.

Zhou rushed in, holding Lu Ziqian who was writhing in pain, and was so frightened that she lost her composure.

He hasn't had an attack for many years, what's wrong with him today?

"Jiaojiao, please save him!"

"I know you hate and resent him, but this is a matter of life and death, I'm begging you." Zhou was so anxious that she was about to kneel down.

Su Yujiao finally softened, got out of bed, went to his side, and gave him a calming and pain-relieving pill.

She made this to mimic the effects of a tranquilizer; although the effect was far inferior, it was still an absolute rarity in this era.

This medicine only has a sedative and analgesic effect, treating the symptoms but not the root cause. As for what the underlying cause of the illness is, she doesn't want to care.

Soon, Lu Ziqian gradually calmed down and lay weakly on the ground, his body soaked with sweat, as if he had just been pulled out of the water.

Lu Ziqian tried to take Su Yujiao's hand, but she dodged it.

"Mo Shu, help the general back to rest."

"yes."

Zhou wanted to say something, but seeing Su Yujiao's indifferent attitude, she ultimately said nothing.

She could only check on her son first; she was truly terrified just now.

"Xiao Tao, guard the door. No one is allowed to enter without my order, especially General Lu," she instructed from inside the room.

Lu Ziqian paused. She actually called him General Lu, not husband, not Ziqian, but a cold, official title.

Su Yujiao breathed a sigh of relief as the footsteps faded into the distance, finally able to have a few days of peace and quiet.

Her actions just now had an element of acting; she didn't want him to get close, and she certainly didn't want to get entangled with him.

He didn't even bother to say a word, he just wanted him to go to war as soon as possible.

Fortunately, he should be setting off in three days!

She only hoped to get through these three days peacefully, not wanting to anger him, much less please him, she just wanted to avoid him.

As for those pills, some were just for show, but more importantly, they were meant to help him win the battle and rescue his elder brother.

Su Yujiao subconsciously touched her relatively flat abdomen. She had experienced slight abdominal pain in the afternoon, but there was no bleeding, so the baby should be fine.

Since the child has chosen to be strong, she will do everything in her power to protect him.

The next morning, a large crowd suddenly gathered at the entrance of the General's Mansion, with an old man and a young man kneeling in the center of the crowd.

The old woman had gray hair and looked to be in her sixties or seventies; she had almost lost all her teeth.
