Chapter 33: It's a ghost clan, a feast for the eyes

“Swish!”

Suddenly, a strange hand appeared out of thin air in front of her. Its five fingers were thick and full of grooves. Its skin was extremely rough and dark. Its nails were dark and shiny, thick and long, and as sharp as eagle claws. It attacked her murderously.

Shen Wuyou was suddenly startled and wanted to hide but was shocked to find that she could not move at all. She could only watch as the terrifying big hand attacked her in an instant, and it was about to clamp her neck in the next moment!

She was anxiously using her mind to summon the plants for protection, but suddenly she heard a more fierce and powerful palm wind that directly knocked the monster that was close to her dozens of meters away. A tall figure like a banished immortal suddenly appeared out of thin air, and with lightning speed, he raised his hand and slashed with a knife!

With a whirlwind of sword light, a sharp cold light flashed across the sky. The monster screamed miserably before being cut in two by the sword and vanished into a puff of black smoke.

Only then did Shen Wuyou finally relax, took a deep breath, and felt a sense of relief as if he had survived a disaster.

The moment the monster disappeared, she saw its appearance clearly. Its body was like a human but it had no legs. Its lower body was moved by a puff of black smoke. Its upper body was covered with a tattered black cloak, making it look like the god of death in the Western world. Its face was also covered in a dark shadow, making it impossible to see anything.

Only those five fingers that were as thick and terrifying as a beast's made people know that it was not without substance.

After killing the monster, Ling Wangqing still stood with his hands behind his back, holding the sharp sword covered with spiritual flames, wondering what he was thinking.

Shen Wuyou moved slowly with stiff and numb steps, trying to maintain composure with lingering fear, and asked:

"What is this? It's different from the aura just now."

Ling Wangqing maintained his sword-holding posture with an expressionless face, waiting for something. When he heard her doubt, he kindly explained:

"Ghost tribe."

"There really are ghosts?!" Shen Wuyu was stunned. He had only guessed that it was very likely that the six realms would coexist at this time, but he didn't expect that it would be confirmed so suddenly.

Honestly, she still hoped the world would be simpler. After all, the more races there were and the more complex it was, the greater the chance of war and conflict. The leaders of various circles were fine, but it was just hard on these weak demons and ordinary people who had no ability to protect themselves.

But her words were obviously not suitable to be blurted out in this situation. After all, this was common sense in this world. Even an innocent three-year-old child knew this information. It was impossible for a demon that had successfully transformed to know nothing about it and act so surprised.

Seeing Ling Wangqing's expression was not right, Shen Wuyou immediately realized that this was not right, so he patted his chest hurriedly, like a frightened bird, panicking and aggrieved:

"Are there really such powerful ghosts? I've only heard a few things about them before, but I never thought they were so powerful. Just now, I felt my body tremble, as if someone would strangle me to death in the next second! My body is still shaking now..."

Ling Wangqing didn't think much of it after hearing this. After all, she was too weak to even break free from the intimidating power of a mere ghost, and froze in place. Could such a Higanbana demon truly have the power to wreak havoc on the world and unleash bloodshed across the six realms?

Shen Wuyu didn't know that his superb acting skills had directly created a pure, harmless and weak character for Ling Wangqing, and even dispelled the other party's murderous intentions.

She only knew that the ghost was killed, and she was afraid that her innocence would be difficult to clear...

She couldn't help feeling a little sad. Just when she was about to ask Ling Wangqing if he could help her to make a confession and get rid of suspicion, she suddenly felt a chill on her spine, and that familiar creepy feeling came over her again!

This time, Shen Wuyou wisely chose to stay by Ling Wangqing's side. After all, being by his side was the safest place at the moment.

In order not to distract Ling Wangqing, she even gathered her strength early and set up a teleportation formation. At this moment, the formation was already imprinted under her feet, emitting a bright white light. As long as she thought about it, she could instantly disappear from the spot and ensure her own safety.

Ling Wangqing glanced indifferently at the teleportation arrays set up around him. A slight spiritual power was surging on them. Each one was on standby, waiting for the caster's order to teleport instantly.

He even couldn't help but wonder, if he wasn't there, would she also be able to cleverly use these magic arrays to trick the demons and ghosts?

However, this unrealistic thought only flashed by. When he looked up again, his calmness had returned. With a twist of his wrist, the sword blade clanged and emitted bursts of cold air that gradually permeated the surroundings...

For a moment, there were gusts of cold wind and the chill was overwhelming. The cold air emitted by the sword had some unknown function, and it actually forced out several ghosts hidden in the air.

The ghost who seemed to be suddenly thrown out from the air suddenly stood up from the ground, opened his arms, and rushed straight towards Shen Wuyou who was watching the show like an evil ghost coming to take his life.

Shen Wuyou was shocked to find that their target was actually him and not Ling Wangqing who had forced them out. For a moment, he didn't know what expression to make, and couldn't help muttering in his heart:

Is it because he bullies the weak and fears the strong? Or is it because he knows he can't beat Ling Wangqing and is holding me hostage to threaten him?

Seeing the terrifying pair of hands getting closer and closer, Shen Wuyou was about to activate the formation, but before he could recite a single spell, the ghost was split in half by a sword energy carrying a cold flame.

Shen Wuyou, who was just about to try out his newly researched formation technique: ...

How should I put it, it feels good to be protected by someone.

Since she was no longer needed to contribute, she would just stay where she was, not causing any trouble for Ling Wangqing, and at the same time admire his heroic figure.

His moves were clean and neat, fierce but not tricky, with full force hitting the vital points without wasting any time or energy. He knew the vital points of every race so well that he must be a hero who had experienced thousands of fierce battles.

One after another, the ghosts fell down and turned into black smoke and dissipated. Many more of them continued to appear out of thin air. Shen Wuyou made a rough estimate and found that there were about thirty ghosts lurking nearby.

But even under such extremely unequal conditions, Ling Wangqing remained unmoved, and continued to calmly and indifferently follow the rigid rules with his sword. He was cold and solemn, and every move he made was beautiful. Every frame and painting was pleasing to the eye as if it were calculated, elegant and perfect, and wonderful!

Shen Wuyou stood quietly in her own formation, admiring it silently. When only the last ghost was left, she suddenly spoke out to stop them.

"Sir, please show mercy! We need to leave one person alive!"
