Chapter 29 Who Can Stop Him (Updated and Adjusted as...)

Chapter 29 Who Can Stop Him (Updated and Adjusted as...)

They all looked to be no more than fourteen or fifteen years old, but their physical abilities and cultivation levels far exceeded what children of that age should have.

The two old farmers were extremely surprised and collapsed to the ground, unable to stand up. They didn't know whether to be grateful for their escape from death or to ask the names of these young heroes.

As soon as the sound of the explosion subsided, the boy who had just been hanging upside down quickly disappeared into the woods. His figure moved like a dragon or snake, weaving through the branches, and soon he reached another location.

Upon seeing the few lesser demons blocking the way, the poison needles wrapped in spiritual energy from his sleeves precisely pierced their foreheads, and the demons around the magic circle immediately collapsed to the ground.

Aju lightly touched a branch with her toes and said, "Brother Wen, I've finished cleaning up here too."

Wen Tianyu nodded and used his spiritual power to transmit the message: "Ling Lai, make your move."

Ruan Linglai let out a long sigh of relief, stretched her fists and feet, and rushed towards the place where she had knocked the monster away. With a beautiful flying kick, she knocked the monster, which had broken free of the binding rope, down again in a few moves.

Taking advantage of the beast's exhaustion, the formation was activated, and white light emanated from its two eyes. The enormous beast vanished into thin air right before the eyes of the two old farmers.

This indicates that he vomited a pile of gold and silver treasures before he died.

This is what they were looking for in the first place, and it is also what attracts countless people to come here, but also causes them to lose their lives.

The toad monster is somewhat intelligent and knows some illusion magic, so it always works.

Two boys walked up to the little girl from either side; they were the same two who had just dealt with the little monster.

Yan, separated from her flock, crossed her arms and looked arrogant: "Next time, could you please tell me earlier if you want to control your strength?"

Aju smiled and said, "You know that Senior Brother Wen always speaks slowly, why are you in such a hurry?"

Ruan Linglai lifted her skirt and stomped her foot: "Ugh! My skirt is all dirty! Next time, you guys come and beat me up for something this disgusting."

Wen Tianyu slowly descended from the height and took two steps to his companion: "Let's count the number of dead first, and take care of those two while we're at it."

The group finally turned their attention to the two old farmers behind them.

The two finally realized what had happened and repeatedly kowtowed to express their gratitude.

Ruan Linglai: "It's alright, it's what we should do."

Aju put his hands on his hips and said, "We can't come to such a dangerous place again next time. We won't be able to run into each other every time."

Yan Shiqun: "...Didn't we come here specifically for this purpose?"

Aju: "That's called mystery. I was so handsome just now."

Wen Tianyu was suddenly startled, his voice trembling: "...Wait, watch out behind you!"

Unexpectedly, the monster had a backup plan; the puddle of pus on the ground suddenly burst open and sprayed towards them.

But without these people even having to lift a finger, a few sword gusts of wind were enough to cut off all the venom that was splashing towards them.

A man walked slowly from not far away. His hair was tied in a high ponytail. In the shadows, one could vaguely make out that he was very handsome. He drew and sheathed his white sword without any hesitation.

Jie Zhoujian is 14 years old this year.

"Senior brother!" Ruan Linglai, disregarding the dirt on her skirt, ran over: "Isn't Master with you?"

"My master has something to attend to, so he asked me to come and pick you up first."

Wen Tianyu and Xie Zhoujian exchanged a glance from afar, nodded, and went over to take care of the two terrified farmers.

Yan Shiqun and Aju walked towards Jiezhoujian.

Yan Shiqun smiled at him and said, "Even if you hadn't made a move, I could have burned that thing to the ground."

Jie Zhoujian said in a calm and unhurried tone, "Well, I thought this would be faster because Master said he would cook hot pot when we get back, and I was afraid he would have to wait too long."

"Huh? Good," Aju rubbed his stomach, "I've been busy all day and I'm hungry. Master understands us so well."

After checking that the two had no other injuries, Wen Tianyu got up and pointed them in a direction.

"Just keep going straight that way and you'll get out."

"Thank you, immortals! Thank you, immortals!"

The two greedy old farmers, now behaving themselves, quickly slunk away in that direction.

Jie Zhoujian and the others walked in another direction. Jie Zhoujian led the way, and Ruan Linglai said angrily as they walked, "It's a pity about my clothes. I'll ask my dad to buy me new ones."

Aju exclaimed in surprise: "No way, Miss, you can barely fit all your clothes in here."

Ruan Linglai said disdainfully, "It's as if only my dad bought it for me."

"I have no objections whatsoever; I will follow Miss's arrangements completely."

Yan Shiqun looked Aju up and down: "Look at your pathetic self."

“This is called being able to bend and stretch. Master said that only a real man is like this. People who know food are handsome.”

Wen Tianyu helplessly corrected: "It means that a wise person is one who knows when to yield, which refers to people with strong adaptability, not people who are good at eating."

Ruan Linglai laughed so hard: "Our little Aju's academic performance is still so bad."

Aju: "You're only talking about me. Junior Brother Yan couldn't even recognize all the characters at first."

Yan Shiqun: "Give me a break, my handwriting is better than yours now."

Wen Tianyu: "Every time this is mentioned, I feel like I'm mourning for Young Master Yun."

Ruan Linglai: "Poor Young Master Yun."

The group chatted for a while before walking out of the woods.

They all had excellent light-foot skills, although Aju was the best, since he was always active and running around, which is how he developed his skills.

Besides resolving the issue of the wild geese going missing during the day, Aju also obtained his own sword. Now only Wen Tianyu and Ruan Linglai don't have one yet, but these things depend on fate and can't be rushed. Although they don't use the finest swords, an iron sword is enough for everyday use.

The five of them left the woods and flew back on their swords in a grand procession.

Jie Zhoujian, who was at the front, said, "Master said we should go to town to buy some things before we go back."

Yan Shiqun was not surprised at all: "I knew he wouldn't let us go back empty-handed. This time, is he bringing roast chicken or roast goose?"

Jie said during the day: "He said he wanted to drink."

The four people behind Jie Zhoujian braked suddenly and exclaimed in unison, "Huh?"

In the center of Shuiyun Lake, lies the Qing family of Quanzhou and Zhangzhou.

The immortal in blue and white robes landed, and the person who had been waiting at the door saw that his forehead was covered in sweat and handed him a handkerchief to wipe it off.

After Qinghuan handed it over, she said, "Linglai and the others have gone out to catch demons; they should be back soon."

Qingjue nodded: "I know, I've already sent Zhoujian to pick him up."

"What's wrong with you? You're sweating all over."

"To be honest... it's not sweat, it's water."

"...How did you get wet? It wasn't raining outside."

Qingjue gave an awkward laugh: "...Hehe."

He would never mention that he encountered a rain cloud on his way back.

It rained heavily for just a few kilometers, and it started so suddenly that I didn't have time to take shelter. After those few kilometers, it was sunny again.

It's like taking him for a walk.

"Stop asking so many questions. Set up that pot and rack in my yard. How about we have hot pot for dinner tonight? And you can have a few drinks with me while you're at it."

"Okay... Oh? You, you want to drink?"

"What's wrong? Can't I be happy today?"

Qinghuan blushed and said, "No, no...no, I wouldn't dare."

He secretly drew a communication talisman with his hand to convey the message to Qingfeng.

"The Immortal Lord wishes to drink today!"

Qingfeng had more than a dozen kinds of medicinal herbs in front of her and was slowly distinguishing the differences between them when she received this message and her hand trembled violently.

"...No way."

A short while later, the five children who had gone out returned.

The first thing Yan Shiqun did upon landing was rush to Qingjue's courtyard and demand, "You want to drink? Really?"

Qingjue was slicing the whole piece of beef into pieces, using the finest sword, Wuliqing.

His sword was used for this purpose.

"What's wrong? Why is everyone so surprised?"

Ruan Linglai walked over from behind: "...Have you forgotten that last time you drank alcohol and almost tore down the house?"

"Is that so?" Qingjue looked up and thought for a moment, but couldn't remember. He said, "Hey, you can practice your alcohol tolerance. Just drink more a few times, right?"

No, no!

Demolishing the houses isn't the most important thing; the most important thing is that no one here can match his cultivation level! He's superior!

The most important thing is that you can't stop them, okay?

Aju said to Jie Zhoujian in great fear, "Senior brother, say something! If Master is going to court death, aren't you going to stop him? What if the elders come after us to question us?"

“Don’t panic,” Xie Zhoujian said quietly as he placed the various ingredients he had bought on the table. “I have a plan.”

Aju: "Really?"

While helping to take the things out, Wen Tianyu said, "...Let's just believe it for now. After all, if Master really wants to drink it, even if he drinks it secretly, we can't stop him."

On the other side, Yan Shiqun, who had taken on the important task of cutting beef, was unwilling to use his own sword to do such a thing, so Qingjue had to find him a wood-chopping knife before he lay back on the recliner.

Qingjue closed his eyes to rest, but then said, "Linglai, your clothes are dirty. Tell your father tomorrow and ask him to buy you a new one."

"Yes, yes, Master is the best to me!"

"Go change your clothes quickly, and eat more meat later."

"Uh-huh!"

Yan Shiqun silently wanted to complain about how easily she was bought off, but shook her head and asked, "Jie Zhoujian said you had something to do. Where did you go? You look like you've been caught in the rain."

Qingjue lay comfortably on the recliner. Someone was chopping the ingredients, someone was buying things, and someone was even starting the fire. All he had to do was lie there and wait for the pot to boil.

"I didn't know if it would work, but it did, so I'm happy."

"...Is there anything in the world that you can't do? You even managed to get Young Master Yun to teach us how to write."

Yan Shiqun shuddered at the memory of that scene. In fact, although Yun Yuelin had a bad temper, he was surprisingly patient and rarely scolded children.

But practicing calligraphy is truly the thing he least wants to do in his life.

In recent years, he felt that his majesty as the Demon Lord was getting weaker and weaker. He not only learned to write and recite poetry, but also learned various mental techniques and actually did a lot of good deeds.

No matter what, he is the Demon Lord, yet no one here respects his status.

Especially that guy sleeping in the recliner.

“Yes, Xiaoyanzi has it,” Qingjue said, “but I’ll keep the matter I’m handling today a secret for now, and I’ll tell you after we finish eating.”

Author's Note: Word count adjusted for update.

My hand injury hasn't improved yet (mainly because I haven't had enough rest, so please don't follow my example). After thinking about it, I've decided to adjust the word count and update 3,000 words per day. I apologize for that.

Because the start dates of the articles were all close together, and the time for saving and resting was only one or two months, it was impossible to save the full text.

I originally planned to continue updating six times a day until the end, and I was determined to persevere. However, my body just couldn't take it anymore, so I'm really sorry... I definitely won't stop updating, you can rest assured about that. I'll just update a little less, so that I can maintain a better condition for myself.

Once my injury has healed or my health has improved, I will update 6,000 words again. I will try updating 3,000 words a month for now to help with recovery. Thank you for your understanding.

I'm actually quite reluctant to reduce the word count for updates, it feels like I've surrendered to myself. However, due to health reasons and my travel plans for August (I want to go to Dali, Yunnan to relax, I wonder if any readers can give me some travel advice), after weighing the options, updating 3,000 words a day is indeed the best choice. If I can adjust my time and condition better for the next book, I will still choose to continue updating 6,000 words after the VIP chapter ends.

Reducing my workload by half has made me feel much more relaxed, both mentally and physically. I'll get back to rolling after I've fully recovered. I apologize again and thank you all for your understanding.
