Chapter 41

Chapter 41

/

Even if the outside world is in chaos, the party is still going on in Funk Jungle.

ICE put down the microphone and walked through the crowd, Jesse stood there watching him. The crowd made way for ICE, and he finally stood in front of Jesse.

For a moment, the entire Funk Jungle fell silent. Sarah, at the bar, observed the situation unfolding. She hadn't been a member of the Mighty Warriors long, and there wasn't much history of the group's founding to draw upon. She hadn't yet grasped the situation, or whether the stranger was friend or foe. 9 and Pearl exchanged a glance, and finally, in the atmosphere that threatened to erupt in a fight, Ice spoke up: "Wee back, bro."

The confused people started cheering, and amid the cheers, the two of them briefly hugged each other. 9 and others, who fully understood what was going on, just laughed.

"Jesse is back!" Peral shouted.

ICE laughed: "Bernie, music!"

They begin to celebrate the return of their former friend Jesse.

When the music ended, Jesse went upstairs and ICE was already waiting for him. ICE extended his hand and made a hug gesture, and the members of Mighty Warriors fist-bumped Jesse one by one.

"When did you get out, Jesse?" Bernie asked.

"In just these two days," Jesse smiled, "you guys haven't changed at all."

He then greeted the person lying on the sofa: "Hey, DD—ah, who is the beautiful lady next to you?"

The beautiful woman who was clearly having an affair with DD forced herself to smile: "Dixie, please give me some advice."

"Please give me your guidance."

"Ah, by the way, Jesse, what's going on with that guy down there?"

The big guy on the dance floor was very conspicuous. He remembered that when Jesse was dancing just now, this big guy was standing behind him.

"My cellmate. If he asks you if you like kids, just say 'yes'."

Peral glanced at ICE: "So, what do you mean by bringing him here?"

Jesse sat on the sofa, his upper body leaning outward: "I want him to join the Mighty Warriors."

9 couldn't deny it. Everyone was waiting for Ice to speak. Ice made an "OK" gesture: "He is your friend, and you are our friend, so I have no reason to refuse."

"Then he's our companion now too." 9 and Pearl high-fived.

"Where's Liu?" Jesse asked.

"He's in Kowloon now."

"Nine Dragons?"

"If he wants to come back, he's always welcome to come back."

Jesse gave a short laugh. "So, does Funk Jungle need some money? Want to try to do something for Doubt?"

"No, we have to focus on our utopia now." Ice shrugged.

"Okay," Jesse leaned over the railing. "Hey, For? Come up."

"Is it really that profitable?" Pearl was quite interested. The Mighty Warriors were not harsh on their employees, and ICE would not say anything if he wanted to do some private work.

"Not really," Jesse said. "Doubt isn't a big group, but I found a great sponsor who's willing to subsidize it."

For had already gone up to the second floor and was about to go inside, but Jesse stopped him with a serious face: "Wait, For, you can't come in. Only friends can come in here."

A man with a physique like a brown bear had a slightly aggrieved look on his face. He turned around and was about to walk back, but Jesse held him back again: "No, no, no, hey man, I was just joking. You're our friend too, aren't you?"

Everyone burst into laughter.

"Cheers to our new friends!"

The wine glasses clinked, and ICE suddenly seemed to remember something and asked, "Oh, by the way, have you met N... No, should it be Sakurai?"

"Ha, you guys are still hiding it from me. I was shocked."

"Oh, I should have called her over earlier. After all, you're finally out of prison! I clearly saw him last time, but I didn't recognize him." Bernie expressed deep regret.

Jesse shrugged: "She? I don't know what she's busy with." The welcoming party that was agreed upon... also has to be postponed.

ICE was still laughing at him: "At first I thought you and him would fight to the death as soon as you met, but now it seems like your relationship is pretty good?"

"Wait, wait," Dixie tried to interrupt. "Who is this 'Sakurai'? Why is it 'she' one moment and 'he' the next?"

This was something Pearl was also curious about. He had never known Sakurai actually knew Ice and Bernie. Sakurai always acted so mysteriously that it made him curious. During the previous fight with Lee, he discovered that these people knew each other, which finally gave him a clue to follow up. But when he asked them about "Sakurai", they smiled mysteriously.

That shouldn't be the case! He and Bernie have known each other for a long time. If there was such a person, he should have heard of him at least once.

So ICE smiled mysteriously again: "Are you really that curious?"

“It’s not really a big secret – you’ve probably heard of Noble in Little Asia.”

Most people here had been in Little Asia before. They might not know the leader of the Katsuya group, or the stories of the older members, but they had undoubtedly heard of a few famous peers in their youth. And Noble was undoubtedly one of them.

However, Sarah didn't know much about Little Asia. She looked at the people on the field, hoping that someone would come out and explain.

/

"You definitely don't know that they have exposed all your secrets." Jesse said on the phone.

"Uh…what did they say?"

Jesse's deliberately suppressed laughter came from the phone, and Sakurai's ears itched: "Forget it, you'd better not tell me. What did Doubt say?"

"They're scheduled for tomorrow. Do you think the White Rascals have a chance of winning?"

"If it's just the White Rascals, that's no problem. But from what I know about Cobra and the others...ah, and the Hinata. They won't just sit there and watch Ranmaru take down the Sword. 'We Swords can fight among ourselves, but outsiders can't.' They often give me that feeling. It's quite strange, isn't it?"

"I understand, but this isn't good news for me. Let me confirm this—I won't see you on the sword team tomorrow." Jesse rolled over. Bernie pointed at him and said he must be talking to some beautiful woman on the phone, so Jesse kicked him.

"It's so noisy over there. Tomorrow...tomorrow I have something to do."

Reunited, their relationship somewhat rekindled, old friends were no longer prone to expressing their concern directly at this age. A subtle sense of distance lingered, a thin layer of distance between them, and Jesse, building on this, tentatively approached—most importantly, they both knew the other wasn't someone who would easily get into trouble. So, after a brief exchange of words, she hung up. She'd finished the water she had on hand, but her throat was still dry. She got out of bed, opened the door, and headed to the living room for more water, only to find Hiroto Amamiya sitting on the sofa with the TV on.

"Are you asleep?"

"...Ah." He seemed to have dozed off, but he woke up immediately after hearing Sakurai's voice: "Yagui said that Kohaku contacted him, and he also agreed with Furuno to meet tomorrow."

Sakurai nodded.

"Call me brother properly!" Amemiya Masaki shouted from another bedroom.

Amemiya Hiroto and Sakurai Minami looked at each other and looked away.

Fortunately, I have a younger sister, Sakurai Minami thought.
