Chapter 6

Chapter 6

Inside Luoqian Prison.

The iron gate was slammed loudly, and the prison guard called lazily: "Hey, hey, kid, wake up, someone wants to see you."

The young man sitting in the corner stood up slowly. His hair was a mess like a chicken coop, frizzy and messy, with thick and long bangs that almost completely covered the upper half of his face. He reached out and grabbed it twice, then brushed it aside, revealing a pair of calm eyes. This was considered as combing his hair.

The light in this single room had been broken for who knows how long, and no one had come to fix it. Fortunately, the light from the corridor outside could be used when needed. Under the yellowish light, the exposed skin looked extremely white.

"Hey, hurry up," the prison guard urged, "Noble! Stop standing there in a daze!"

Noble: "Hmm." He scratched his neck. His hair was indeed a little longer, and the rough ends rubbed against his neck, which made him feel a little itchy. Hmm, should he trim it? So he asked, "Do you have a pair of scissors?"

Scissors? The guard didn't care what he was thinking. He sneered and shook the electric baton in his hand: "Do you want to listen to what you are saying?"

"Uh. Sorry," Noble said. Suddenly, he felt a sense of danger, like thunder roaring in the rain, and decided to be cautious.

A startling laugh erupted from the adjacent private room. Noble took a leisurely look inside. A bearded man sat cross-legged on the floor. Seeing him peer inside, the older man asked, "Hey, are you leaving?"

Noble thought about it and said, "No way."

Man: “I think so.”

"Well...at most, my sister would come to see me."

This guy showed off his pride without a trace of concealment. Hinata Norihisa, the only one left in the family, snorted coldly, not bothering to pay any attention to this brat who had been shoved in half a month ago.

“You must be consistent in what you say and do what you preach.”

"You are better than others, and because of that, you have the responsibility to protect others."

"Whether it's strength or power, you must never use it to coerce others."

Such nagging words continue to echo

It's really noisy...

What's the point of talking about these great principles?

She woke up from her dream.

"Sister?" Xiaohua opened her eyes reluctantly.

……ah.

"You should call me 'brother'." Noble said, and she covered Xiaohua's eyes with her palms: "Sleep a little longer."

Xiaohua's breathing quickly became steady again. She slowly lifted a corner of the quilt, slowly eased herself out of bed, put on her shoes and socks, stretched, and donned her coat. As she walked out the door, wearing a mask and hood, she was once again the thin, fierce-looking teenager.

For was waiting for him at the door, and Noble said, "Take care of them."

Something is not right.

In fact, Jesse had long felt that someone was following him. He thought to himself that he hadn't offended anyone recently - no, he had, after all, that Doubt from a few days ago was definitely an enemy.

...Could it be Doubt's men? Speaking of which, one of them should have seen his face? If those two are still alive and can trace him back—

What a hassle. I really shouldn't have taken advantage of ICE's small amount of money.

Fortunately, this was the area where he had lived for more than ten years. From the low-rise residential area to the relatively prosperous (comparatively) commercial area, he could walk through all the roads with his eyes closed. He turned the corner and blended silently into the crowd.

Lost it? He could imagine the panicked look on the man's face when he found out his target was missing.

He couldn't help but smile with some pride.

The crowd was uncomfortable, and he was thinking about getting out as quickly as possible. He didn't know if his residence was safe...

At this moment, a hand grabbed his wrist with great force.

Hey, hey, is that true?! A chill suddenly ran up from the soles of his feet to the top of his head. He was about to turn around to look when he heard a low, hoarse voice say, "Don't look back, they're still there."

The voice was very recognizable, as was the tone. This guy had left a deep impression on him.

He obeyed the force pulling him along, the crowd crowded, and they went against the current.

The wind chimes at the entrance of the music store rang softly, creating a melodious sound. The young owner looked up and saw them: "N——"

"Shh." Noble mouthed the word "hush."

There were other people in the video store, so he pulled Jesse inside and through the curtain behind the counter, where there was a small bedroom.

"…They're Doubt?"

"I guess so," Noble said. Even young boys have trouble taking care of themselves, so Bernie's bedroom is a mess. He pushed the pile of clothes on the floor aside and finally cleared a decent place to sit. "They're targeting you. Do you have any other questions?"

"That's too much. First of all, why are you here?" Jesse followed his example and cleared out a space.

"There have been more people around our house lately. But, since someone's following you, it must be Doubt."

"Shit," Jesse cursed. He began to regret not running away. "And now what? How do you want to deal with this?"

"There's nothing we can do. There's no such thing as a thief who steals for a thousand days, and there's no such thing as a thief who guards against thieves for a thousand days."

Jesse looked at him and seemed to understand a little: "...No way?" He thought it was outrageous.

"...What? What are you talking about?" The owner came over. He was not very old and had a baby face.

Who is this? Jesse tried to hint to Noble to introduce him. Fortunately, Noble understood his meaning this time.

"This is Bernie. This guy's called Jesse. Hey, Bernie, it's not that easy to get on a pirate ship," Noble said calmly, "Don't ask any nonsense."

"Ah." Bernie got scared and retracted his head.

But Jesse glanced outside and guessed the boy's ears were still perked up. Even though they hadn't said much, he'd already seen through Bernie and realized he was probably quite clueless. Smart people can never see through things, but fools can reveal everything with just one expression.

"How do you decide?" Noble asked.

How do we decide? How can we decide? This isn't my decision, so why are you being so nonchalant?! How can the two of us outsmart so many people?

No, maybe I'm mistaken. So he asked sincerely, "What do you mean?" Maybe Noble meant that they should kowtow to Doubt and beg for forgiveness. That sounded better than calling him directly.

Noble wiped his neck and said, "We have to take the initiative and get rid of them."

The last time the human traffickers came, there were more than a dozen of them... If there were only a dozen, it would be okay, but I'm afraid there are more than that many people in their lair.

"It's going to be tough," Jesse said. "Just the two of us?"

"Doubt is running wild on Katsuya's team's territory...they are the ones who should be blamed." Noble chuckled.

Goodness me, you're trying to get someone to take the blame. You seem so serious, but I didn't expect you'd resort to such detours. Jesse was in awe, thinking the feasibility had increased significantly. "Yes, Doubt dared to do this on Kowloon territory... As long as we make a big move, there's no need to do anything else, the Katsuya team will handle it."

It's just an open conspiracy.

Jesse thought for a moment and said, "I know someone who would also be interested in this."

They looked at each other and finally reached a consensus at this moment.
