Extra 3
"Where are we going?" Xiaohua asked.
She'd been wanting to ask this question for a while. After dinner, Genji beckoned them to follow. Liu Longren was already sitting in the passenger seat of the Kurosaki-kai car. Genji, the oldest and the only one with a driver's license, took the driver's seat, leaving Xiaohua and Noble, bewildered, in the back seat. The further they drove, the more confused Xiaohua became. But Noble, Liu Longren, and Genji weren't talkative, so after much deliberation, Xiaohua decided to ask.
Genji, who was driving, said nothing—not surprisingly, he wasn't exactly taciturn, but he only spoke when necessary. Clearly, the answer to this question wasn't necessary for him, at least not enough to distract him from driving. Genji was always serious about his work.
Liu, still in the passenger seat, stared at the book he held. He truly felt grateful to Genji for his steady driving. A few seconds later, Liu Longren, still immersed in the plot, seemed to realize he'd just been asked a question. He began to recall the question. He had a certain talent for indecision, so he recalled Xiaohua's question. The only son of the Kowloon Group chairman generously replied, "Fireworks display."
Perhaps because he saw the Xiaohua siblings as being from Little Asia and likely never having participated in such activities, Liu Longren added a few words: "There will be a lot of small vendors there in the evening, with food and entertainment, and then at the appointed time, there will be beautiful fireworks."
Xiaohua said "Oh" and gently grabbed Noble's hand. The young girl's eyes revealed anticipation. She had been here once when she was a child, when her family was still alive, but her memory was not very clear.
Liu Longren checked the rearview mirror to confirm the two men didn't seem to have any further questions, then lowered his head to continue flipping through the book. He had originally intended to finish the book today, but who would have thought that when Mr. Kurosaki came to visit, he mentioned to his father that Genji and his newly adopted son and daughter were going to see a fireworks display. His mother then suggested that Liu should go along. The Kurosaki Society was undoubtedly "pro-Ninth Generation" and their devotion to his father was obvious, so his father was naturally willing to allow the future backbone of the Kurosaki Society to become closer to Liu.
Genji, the heir to the Kurosaki Clan, needless to say, has been showing remarkable respect for the siblings from Little Asia these days. Rumors have been circulating, but Liu Longren has no idea what Genji is thinking. He's not someone you can easily understand.
Anyway, he was packed and sent here. He was delayed on the way, and there was definitely not enough light for him to read after it was completely dark outside. However, there were not many pages left, and his obsessive-compulsive disorder took over, so he made up his mind to finish reading the book as much as possible.

Until night fell completely, the car arrived at the destination, and the small lights in the car were turned on. The lights in cars of that era were still very dim. Genji looked through the rearview mirror and saw that the two people in the back had fallen asleep leaning against each other. He asked Liu Longren: "How many pages are left?"
Liu Longren glanced at the thickness of the remaining papers and said, "A dozen or so." He checked his watch. It was quite late, and he didn't want to slow everyone down. Although he was nearing the end, where the foreshadowing was about to be revealed, he still held back. He closed the book, opened the car door, and got out first. This place was close to the mountains, so the temperature outside was obviously colder than when they left. Liu rubbed his eyes, only then did he feel the slight soreness.
Genji turned off the engine and called out, "Wake up." A rustling sound came from the back seat. Genji sometimes thought the two children were like stray wild animals, relying on each other for warmth. He followed him out of the car, and the two behind him were only slightly behind him. They noticed the temperature outside, and the children, newly awakened, shivered until they adjusted to the temperature. Genji thought again, what kind of wild animals are these? Just two stray cats.
The fireworks display was bustling with activity, and the two stray cats were wary of the crowds—cats are always like that, timid and nervous. Noble said to Xiaohua, "Hold my hand tight." Xiaohua nodded obediently. Noble turned to look at Genji, then led Xiaohua into the crowd.
Later, Genji was thoughtful. Out of respect for Liu Longren's father, the Ninth Dragon Heart, he asked the young master of Jiulong: "Do you need it?"
Liu Longren glanced at Genji. Their age difference was six or seven years, so they couldn't be considered peers. Jiulong had many young men, and this age difference was enough to create a generation gap. They hadn't had much opportunity to get to know each other, and their occasional interactions were due to the Nine-Series Dragon Heart's familiarity with Kurosaki Junlong. Therefore, Liu didn't know Genji well.
Before Noble arrived, Genji was considered a monster by many in Kowloon. Without everyone's willing acceptance, he wouldn't have achieved the position of Wakatoshi of the Kurosaki Clan at such a young age. Genji was taciturn and cold. Not only was he powerful, but he also seemed insensitive to pain, unfazed by fear, like an execution robot. Could an execution robot tell jokes? Liu didn't know, so he couldn't tell if he was being serious or not. He thought to himself: money in my left pocket, a gun in my right. So, "No thanks." He blended into the crowd. He was dressed elegantly, looking like a child from a well-off family, but no one would have guessed he was the future heir to the nation's largest tycoon.
The young man sighed and watched Child Three squeeze into the crowd behind Child One and Two. He looked to the side, his expression cold.
He also has to do what he should do.
