Chapter 175: Get in my car, we need to talk (1/2)

"Hehe, then you can wait and see!"

"Sigh, I don't even know if this resource area is in front of me or behind me!"

"It would be great if it had a map positioning function."

"..."

A group of survivors sighed in the chat channel.

Firearms have always been in a state of being expensive but unavailable.

Apart from the batch that Ye Li successfully auctioned off in the mall yesterday.

No other firearms were subsequently put on the market for sale.

Outside the military base resource zone.

Four survivors hid behind a rock in the distance, observing the movements of the Soul Eaters in the resource area.

"Damn it, we finally found a resource area, but there are so many monsters inside, damn it!"

Cai Wen cursed angrily, his eyes filled with greed and resentment.

If it weren't for those Soul-Devouring Beasts, the entire resource area would have been his.

Now, he has to wait for other survivors to come and share the resources inside.

"How about we give it a try?"

A boy nearby suggested, "We can drive over and park at a distance, then shoot them from a distance with a bow and arrow. Once the monsters chase after us, we can engage them and, by avoiding direct confrontation and wasting some time, we might actually be able to eliminate them."

"You can go if you want, but I'm not going."

The only female survivor in the team shook her head and refused.

"Your method is too dangerous. If something goes wrong, everyone will die."

Another male survivor shook his head and echoed the sentiment.

He preferred to wait for the other survivors to gather and then enter together to share the resources.

They were also unwilling to risk going in.

"I have a better idea."

Cai Wen narrowed his eyes and stared intently at the boy who had just made the suggestion, then lowered his voice and whispered.

"What idea?"

The three of them looked over curiously.

"We can send one person to lure the monsters away, and then the rest of us can rush in to find resources. Wouldn't that solve the problem?"

Cai Wen smiled slightly and said casually.

Σ(°ロ°)

However, after hearing this, all three of them stared wide-eyed and couldn't utter a single word.

They looked at each other, bewildered.

This task sounds simple.

But who would be willing to be the bait that gets thrown away?

Who is willing to go?

Cai Wen glanced at the three people and asked directly.

All three lowered their heads silently, and none of them dared to utter a sound.

"Or...why don't you go?"

Cai Wen suddenly turned his gaze to the boy who had suggested driving to fight the group of Soul-Eating Beasts.

"No, no, no, I'm not going!"

The boy was so frightened that his legs went weak, and he frantically shook his head and waved his hands.

He's only 20 years old!

They're still young, they haven't lived enough yet.

"Weren't you very brave just now? Didn't you want to fight those Soul-Eating Beasts?"

Cai Wen stared at him, a mocking smile on his face, his eyes full of ridicule: "I gave you a chance, but you were useless?"

"..."

The boy's face was as pale as paper, his forehead was covered in cold sweat, and he trembled so much that he almost collapsed to the ground.

Fortunately, his companion reacted quickly and caught him.

Seeing the boy's terrified expression, Cai Wen's contempt grew even stronger. He said coldly, "Know your place. In this team, I am the boss!"

"Yes, yes, you're the boss!"

The boy answered in a trembling voice.
