Chapter 398: Night: Purple-skinned Insects

Zhao Lu drove, glancing listlessly at the messages in the chat channel.

When they saw the photo of the double-decker armored RV, their eyes were filled with disbelief.

Zhao Lu hurriedly sent a message to Ye Li, her tone full of surprise: "Wow, no way, what's going on with your RV?"

Are you envious?

Ye Li was not surprised at all by Zhao Lu's question.

Almost every time they encounter a survivor, those people, as if they have nothing better to do, will take a picture of his RV and post it in the chat channel.

Just like when we were on Earth, those paparazzi taking pictures of celebrities were really annoying.

“Not envious at all…” Zhao Lu pouted, then added, “Such a big car, with two levels, it might be haunted at night. (。◕ˇε ˇ◕。)”

Ye Li: "..."

After Zhao Lu sent the message, seeing that Ye Li didn't reply, she teased, "Besides, such a big car, and not a single woman in it, tsk tsk tsk, how lonely..."

Ye Li's lips curled up slightly, revealing a playful smile, and he replied, "Yes, I heard the echo of envy."

At eight o'clock in the afternoon, the blazing sun at the end of the highway seemed to be pulled into the ground by an invisible hand and quickly disappeared.

In the blink of an eye, the surrounding sky darkened.

What followed was a raging gale that whipped up iron filings and made them dance wildly in the air.

The survivors who had been sleeping in the afternoon were all jolted awake by the notification sounds on the screen. They ate a quick bite of dinner, immediately started their vehicles, and began to move slowly forward.

Everyone was driving slowly. In this environment where visibility was only three meters, it would be extremely dangerous to drive too fast and veer off the road.

"I wonder what kind of entertainment will be available tonight."

After finishing dinner, Ye Li glanced out the car window, a hint of anticipation in his eyes.

After encountering other survivors, the road ahead was almost smooth sailing, and there were no more robots blocking the way.

Apart from occasionally needing to venture into the wasteland to search for treasure chests, I have basically not encountered any other dangerous situations.

However, not everyone maintains an optimistic attitude like Ye Li.

At this moment, many survivors were pale and terrified, curled up in the car, trying to keep their breathing as low as possible, afraid that making a sound would bring about their death.

Many survivors even gave up complaining in the chat channel, focusing all their attention on holding their weapons in case of any unforeseen circumstances.

"Hiss~"

I don't know how much time has passed.

A faint sound came from outside the car where the wind was howling.

Although the sound was faint, it was like a thunderclap to the tense survivors, instantly putting them on alert.

Many people tucked their necks into their clothes and gripped their guns tightly.

Some of the braver survivors cautiously looked up at the outside of the car.

"Warning, warning..."

Inside Ye Li's RV, Xiao Ai shouted anxiously, "An unidentified creature is rushing towards our vehicle!"

"Chirp chirp!"

--Danger!

The little stone monkey also jumped up from the massage chair, gripped the gun in his hand, and stared fiercely out the car window.

That ferocious expression was the first time Ye Li had ever seen on the little stone monkey's face.

"Wukong?" Ye Li called out softly.

He could sense the fighting spirit emanating from the little stone monkey.

"Chirp chirp!"

—Very dangerous!

The little stone monkey called out again.

This made even Ye Li feel nervous.

He quickly took out the Barrett from his spatial ring and aimed it out of the car.

On either side of the wilderness, three red dots were rushing toward his RV at an extremely fast speed.

"What the hell is that? A robot dog?"

Ye Li frowned slightly. A robot with this kind of speed was definitely not an ordinary robot.

Unless those robots have roller skates on their feet.

However, on that wasteland full of iron grass and barbed wire, it was impossible to slide.

"Chirp, chirp chirp?"

Master, what should we do?

The little stone monkey looked at Ye Li, waiting for instructions.

"Xiao Ai, stop the car and see what this thing is."

Ye Li said.

Six monsters won't take up too much time; he mainly wants to see what they are and whether they're worth collecting.

Okay.

Upon receiving Ye Li's instruction, Xiao Ai immediately brought the RV to a stop.

"Bang!"

"Bang!"

"Bang!"

"..."

Less than three seconds after the RV stopped, a series of violent collision sounds rang out outside.

"Crunch, crunch~"

Immediately afterwards, a series of ear-piercing cutting sounds rang out.

Ye Li frowned and looked out the car window.

"Hiss~"

Almost simultaneously, an ugly, insect-like face popped up from under the car window and appeared in front of Ye Li.

The insect was over a meter long, its entire body was dark purple, its head resembled a grasshopper's, it had three eyes, and two rows of large, sharp teeth were exposed.

With four legs, forelimbs shaped like sickles, and a body with distinct angles, it's impossible to tell whether it's a technological product or a real creature.

"Hiss~"

The insect let out a series of piercing hisses, raised its forelegs, and smashed them towards the car window.

"Bang!"

The powerful forelimbs slammed into the car window, leaving a white mark on it, though not completely destroyed.

You should know that this is a legendary quality explosion-proof car window; even a perfect bullet hitting it wouldn't leave a mark.

"What a powerful monster!"

Ye Li's eyes were cold and sharp, and he was secretly amazed.

"Bang!"

Another series of crisp tapping sounds rang out.

Several other insects crawled onto the car window and began tapping on the glass with their sharp claws, making a chilling sound.

"Wukong, open the door."

Ye Li stood behind the rear door of the carriage and shouted.

"Chirp chirp."

—They've arrived.

The little stone monkey responded and nimbly jumped to the car door.

It glanced back at Ye Li, and seeing Ye Li nod, it opened the car door without hesitation.

In an instant, countless iron filings surged in from the outside like a tidal wave, carrying a powerful impact as they struck the little stone monkey's face.

"Chirp chirp!"

The little stone monkey let out a shriek and quickly retreated, nimbly jumping to a safe position at the back of the carriage.

The sound of the door opening caught the attention of three purple-skinned bugs on the same side, and they immediately jumped down from the car window.
