In the chat channel, a series of questions appeared again.
The survivor patiently answered each question: "I woke up because I needed to pee. I was thinking of getting up to go to the toilet, but then I heard some noise in the carriage, so I looked up and saw a dark figure wearing a dark green cloak. I couldn't see his face clearly, and he was holding a short knife..."
"At the time, all the doors and windows of my car were locked, and there was no damage anywhere. Yet that guy managed to sneak into my car without me noticing. What else could it be but a ghost?"
"Have you all forgotten that this is the Sea of Death? What kind of sea monsters wouldn't be here?"
"......"
"So what did he do in your car? He didn't just stay there while you slept, did he?" someone else asked curiously.
"How is this possible!" the survivor exclaimed excitedly. "That wretched sea monster stole my only epic weapon!"
"Was everyone robbed?"
"I lost a bowl."
"I lost a bag of rice."
"I lost 100 documents."
"......"
Ye Li glanced at the messages, then turned to look at the little mermaid swimming in the bathtub and asked, "Pearl, do you know if there are sea monsters that steal things on this sea?"
"Huh?" The little mermaid looked puzzled and asked, "How do you know my name is Pearl?"
"I have superpowers; I can know the past and the future!" Ye Li said.
"Then why are you asking me questions?" The little mermaid looked incredulous.
Ye Li's expression changed.
The little mermaid immediately said, "The thing you're talking about isn't a sea demon, it's a sea monkey."
"Sea monkey?"
Ye Li was somewhat curious.
He knows about sea lions, seals, and seabirds.
This is the first time I've heard of sea monkeys.
"What is that?"
"Hmm..." The little mermaid rested her chin on her hand, looking thoughtful, and slowly said, "According to you two-legged monsters on land, sea monkeys are one of the messengers of the sea god. Don't you throw gold coins into the sea every day? If you don't, you might anger the sea god and he might send messengers to bring disaster to your ships."
"On land, you must be the kind of person who isn't well-liked, right?"
"Otherwise, how could you not know something that is basically common knowledge in the land world?"
The little mermaid blinked her big eyes, staring intently at Ye Li.
"So that's how it is!"
Ye Li seemed to be deep in thought.
It's important to know that no one can enter a survivor's vehicle without the owner's permission, unless it's damaged from the outside.
These sea monkeys can sneak into the survivors' vehicles without anyone noticing and steal things; it's terrifying.
"It's terrifying. Luckily, they were just stealing. If they had killed someone, many of them probably wouldn't have woken up today."
"You people out in the city shouldn't just stand there watching the show. Go find someone and ask what these monsters are and how to protect yourselves!"
"......"
The chat channel was constantly receiving messages.
Many people were so upset by what happened last night that they couldn't even eat breakfast.
"Heh heh, weren't you guys pretty awesome? Didn't you look down on us?"
Why should we help you?
"That's right, that's right!"
"......"
"Helping us is helping yourselves. Don't forget, if we all die, you'll die too. Only by helping us clear the level can you survive."
"Stop fighting amongst yourselves at a time like this, hurry up and investigate."
"......"
The chat channel was filled with heated arguments.
Some survivors who chose to stay in the safe zone seemed to realize the seriousness of the problem and immediately ran to inquire about the sea ghost.
The result came quickly.
"I found out, I found out..."
“That’s not a sea demon, but a messenger of the sea god. Everyone who goes to sea must pay a tithe every day, which means throwing a gold coin into the sea. It means that we rely on the sea for survival and must also give something in return. Otherwise, the sea god will send a messenger to the ship to collect it himself.”
"In severe cases, it could even take the lives of the crew members."
"It is said that at the beginning, some crew members did not pay taxes, which led to the death of everyone on board."
