Qiu Mang stood up mysteriously: "Let's go to another restaurant to eat."
"Huh? Why?" Han Bing looked bewildered.
Qiu Mang showed Han Bing the message she had just sent to Ji Lun: "Senior, I have to go on a business trip today. Aunt Zhou has to go home for lunch, and there's no one to look after Ali. I'd like to ask you to look after her for two hours. Oh, and before you go, please get her a seafood soup from the second floor where I work."
Qiu Mang wasn't entirely making things up. Qiu Li was indeed feeling unwell today and had taken the day off. Aunt Zhou had also taken an hour off at noon. Moreover, the seafood soup on the second floor was the most famous in the area, so if Ji Lun wanted to buy seafood soup, he could only come to this restaurant.
Han Bing nodded slightly: "Only you would think of him in everything and come up with all these reasons. If it were me, I would have called him over with just one phone call!"
Qiu Mang gave a wry smile: "Everyone has their own bottom line. In the senior's eyes, Tian Jingjing is everything to him. I want to leave him some room to maneuver and let him retain his last bit of dignity."
Han Bing remained noncommittal, picked up her bag from her seat and stood up: "Then what are we waiting for? Let's go to the restaurant across the street, and we can be the audience from a different perspective."
On the other side, Ji Lun received a call early in the morning from an underground boxing gym. The gym informed him that there would be a large audience for today's match and the odds were quite high, asking if he wanted to participate.
Faced with the choice between the company and the underground boxing gym, Ji Lun did not hesitate at all and resolutely chose the underground boxing gym.
After taking leave from his company, Ji Lun went straight to the boxing gym. He had gotten to know all the competitors during his regular matches and knew their habits almost inside and out. Although this didn't guarantee him a win, it at least meant he would take fewer punches in the ring.
However, a newcomer appeared on the field today.
Ji Lun sized up the man opposite him. This newcomer looked agile and muscular, with a fierce look in his eyes, as if he was eager to make a name for himself on the field.
As the gong sounded, the newcomer pounced like a cheetah, his right fist, accompanied by a whooshing sound, aimed straight for Ji Lun's face.
Ji Lun was prepared and dodged to the side, the sharp punch grazing his cheek. But the newcomer's attack didn't stop, the left fist sweeping in immediately afterward. Ji Lun leaned back, narrowly avoiding the blow, but his hair was already ruffled by the force of the punch.
After a few rounds, Ji Lun figured out the newcomer's style. With his agile movements, he seized the opportunity, took a step forward, and kicked the newcomer in the abdomen.
The newcomer grunted, but used the momentum of his retreat to regain his footing, and then launched another fierce attack. The two exchanged punches and kicks, sweat flying in the air, and the shouts of the surrounding audience were deafening, as if they wanted to turn the boxing gym upside down.
In the heat of the battle, the newcomer spotted a slight opening in Ji Lun's defense and unleashed his full power, delivering a powerful uppercut that slammed into Ji Lun's chin.
Ji Lun felt a buzzing in his head, and he staggered back a few steps, his cheeks bruised and blood seeping from the corner of his mouth.
Ji Lun raised his hand to wipe the blood from the corner of his mouth. Perhaps because he was used to being beaten so often, he didn't feel much pain. The first thing that came to his mind was: Damn it, this newcomer has no sportsmanship. He actually slapped me in the face. How am I supposed to meet clients tomorrow, since I make a living by my looks?
No way! If I can't meet the client tomorrow, I have to earn more money today!
Thinking of this, Ji Lun's indomitable spirit was completely aroused. He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth with the back of his hand, his eyes becoming more and more determined, like a wounded tiger, his killing intent growing stronger.
Taking advantage of the brief pause the newcomer made due to the punch, Ji Lun pushed off with his feet and charged forward like a cannonball.
He unleashed a barrage of punches, targeting the newcomer's ribs and head, forcing him into a desperate retreat.
The newcomer frantically parried, but his defenses were riddled with openings. Seizing the last opportunity, Ji Lun leaped high into the air and, with all his might, delivered a powerful punch near the newcomer's temple. The newcomer's vision went black, and he collapsed to the ground, never to rise again.
Upon seeing this, the referee immediately rushed forward, raised Jilun's hand high, and announced that he had won the match.
Ji Lun was panting heavily, his whole body soaked in sweat. Although his face was swollen and painful, he was filled with the joy of victory as he looked at the cheering audience below the stage.
Shortly after, the boxing gym owner personally went on stage and handed Ji Lun a bag containing 200,000 yuan in cash.
Ji Lun clutched the money tightly, his heart pounding, but only one thought crossed his mind: Jingjing, I've made money! I've earned enough for the 200,000 yuan to go to Yushan Hot Springs!
When Ji Lun returned to the locker room to change, he saw unread messages on his phone in the locker. He opened it and saw that it was a message from Qiu Mang.
Babysitting for two hours? Sure! I made some money today, so I can bring a gift to Xiao Qiuli.
Thinking of this, Ji Lun quickly changed his clothes, glanced at the time, and felt that he still had time, so he bought a Barbie doll nearby and took it with him.
Qiu Mang and Han Bing had been sitting in the restaurant across the street for a while. Twenty minutes passed, and Han Bing watched as Tian Jingjing and the man across the street were about to finish their meal. She said anxiously, "What should we do? Why hasn't that love-struck guy arrived yet? Are we going to miss it?"
Qiu Mang was getting a little anxious too. "Let me urge them!"
After Qiu Mang finished speaking, he called Ji Lun. The call was answered quickly. Qiu Mang asked him where he was, and Ji Lun said that he was already downstairs.
The phone was on speakerphone, so Han Bing could hear everything clearly. She breathed a sigh of relief, but when she turned her head, she found that Tian Jingjing and the other person on the other end had already waved to the waiter to pay the bill.
"Oh no, what should we do? I'm afraid I'll miss out on that love-struck girl!" Han Bing was so anxious that beads of sweat were dripping from her forehead, and she kept rubbing the hem of her clothes with her hands.
"They should be in the elevator..." Qiu Mang was also a little unsure, her words tinged with hesitation.
Both of them turned their gazes toward the elevator, hoping that the elevator doors would open and Ji Lun would appear on time.
Sure enough, just a few seconds later, Ji Lun appeared at the elevator door.
However, when they turned their attention back to the restaurant, Tian Jingjing and the bald man had already disappeared.
"What on earth is this love-struck fool up to? It's only the second floor, why not just take the stairs? The elevator is so slow, it's like we can't even catch a hot meal!" Han Bing was so angry that her face turned red, and she slammed her hand on the table.
"Cough cough cough..."
Qiu Mang was eating a bite of curry potato when he choked.
Han Bing glanced at the curry potatoes in Qiu Mang's bowl, grinned awkwardly, and quickly poured Qiu Mang a glass of water.
"What are we going to do? We missed it this time! Will we ever have another chance to find it again? I really want to beat those two bastards to a pulp!"
