The three girls followed Ji Lun to the other side of the mountain, where they indeed saw a winding path leading to the mountainside.
A few houses can be vaguely seen halfway up the mountain, with wisps of smoke rising from their rooftops, making them look like restaurants or guesthouses run by someone.
Han Bing walked excitedly at the front, "Let's go! Let's hurry and get going while it's still early. We can stay overnight halfway up the mountain before dark!"
“That’s right!” Lin Yuan said, following behind Han Bing.
"Wait a minute!" Ji Lun took out four trekking poles from his backpack and handed them to the three of them.
"I didn't expect Brother Ji to be so thoughtful!" Lin Yuan happily accepted one of the roots.
Ji Lun laughed and said, "Since we're going to climb the mountain, it's always better to be prepared than not!"
The four of them went up the mountain together. There were few people on the road, only some villagers who went up the mountain to pick wild vegetables.
They had been walking for nearly five hours. Looking up at the halfway point from the foot of the mountain, it looked very close, but they hadn't expected to have climbed for so long and still not arrived.
The mountain path was already slippery after the snow, and even with the utmost care, the three girls still slipped and fell to varying degrees, sustaining injuries.
By this time, the group was exhausted and hungry, and Qiu Mang felt his legs trembling.
"Everyone, sit down and rest for a while! We'll go up the mountain again after we've replenished our energy!" Qiu Mang used his trekking pole to brush the snow off a rock.
After cleaning up, Qiu Mang placed a plastic film on the stone and invited everyone to sit down.
Lin Yuan and Han Bing were exhausted, and they sat down and rested back to back.
Qiu Mang unzipped her backpack, took out a few chocolates and distributed them to the group. "Everyone, eat something so you'll have the strength to climb up!"
Ji Lun glanced at the sky. "It'll probably be completely dark in about an hour. We need to hurry!"
Upon hearing this, the four casually popped the chocolates into their mouths, then got up and continued on their way.
Finally, the four of them successfully reached the mountainside at 6 p.m. There was indeed a guesthouse there. They stayed overnight and continued their journey the next day.
Before setting off, Qiu Mang inquired about Mr. Bai Mei from the guesthouse owner.
The guesthouse owner frowned. "A miracle doctor? I've never heard of him. But there is indeed a strange old man living on the mountaintop. He has white hair and eyebrows, and he just chops firewood and farms every day. He hasn't come down the mountain for many years!"
It's strange, though. Every year, so many people come to see him, and they're all girls. I just don't understand, is such an old man so charming?
Qiu Mang and Han Bing exchanged a glance. "It's him!"
After thanking the guesthouse owner, the four continued on their way. With yesterday's experience, hiking the mountain path was indeed much easier today.
As they approached the summit, Qiu Mang was the most excited. She walked in front, followed by Lin Yuan, Han Bing, and Ji Lun at the back.
"oops!"
A scream rang out as Lin Yuan slipped and fell to the ground. The mountain path was steep, and she rolled all the way to the edge of the cliff, about to fall off.
"Lin Yuan!" Han Bing reacted quickly and ran over, grabbing her just as she was about to fall. Qiu Mang and Ji Lun also rushed over to help.
Lin Yuan was suspended in mid-air, her feet dangling in the air. Her eyes followed the direction of her feet and looked down into a bottomless abyss. Lin Yuan couldn't help but shiver.
"Lin Yuan, don't be afraid, I'll pull you up!" Han Bing's voice rang out from above.
"Hmm!" Lin Yuan looked up in Han Bing's direction, trying her best not to look at her feet.
Han Bing grabbed Lin Yuan's hand, preparing to pull her up. If it were up to her previous strength, this would have been a piece of cake.
But after climbing the mountain all day yesterday, she had exhausted most of her strength, and Han Bing couldn't pull her away no matter what.
Seeing this, Ji Lun reached out and grabbed Lin Yuan.
"Han Bing, let go, I'll pull her up!"
"good!"
Han Bing let go, and Ji Lun pulled Lin Yuan up in one go. It was obviously easier for him, a grown man.
Lin Yuan was pulled up, and Qiu Mang quickly brought her his backpack over so she could sit down on it.
Lin Yuan was panting heavily, still somewhat shaken.
"Let's take a break! The mountain road is too slippery, we should prioritize safety!" Qiu Mang said.
“Yes, Qiu Mang is right. Judging from the distance, we should be able to reach the summit this afternoon. There’s no need for everyone to rush.” Ji Lun also sat down on the ground.
The man had been there for several days, and stubble had grown on his face, making him look somewhat haggard.
Han Bing was still in the same position as when she grabbed Lin Yuan. They were now close to the top of the mountain. She hadn't felt anything when she was in a hurry to save the person, but now, looking down from this position, it was equivalent to the height of the entire mountain.
Han Bing's legs went weak.
She's afraid of heights!
She tried to stand up, but her legs had no strength at all.
She stared down uncontrollably, then suddenly everything went black and she fainted.
"Han Bing!"
Qiu Mang screamed!
After Han Bing fainted, her entire body slid out of the way.
Ji Lun was about to close his eyes and take a nap when he heard Qiu Mang's voice.
He was closest to Han Bing, so he immediately ran over and grabbed her hand.
As a result, he slipped and fell because the road surface was too slippery.
Ji Lun gritted his teeth, gripping the large rock on the edge with one hand and holding Han Bing's hand with the other.
Qiu Mang and Lin Yuan both ran over.
"Brother Ji! We'll pull you up!" Lin Yuan said, reaching out to help him up.
“No! You two girls can’t move us at all!” Ji Lun shook his head.
Qiu Mang thought for a moment, then saw a large tree not far away and had an idea.
"Senior! Wait here, there's a big tree over there. I have a rope in my bag. I'll tie the rope to the tree and throw the other end to you, then we'll pull you up!"
“Good!” Ji Lun also thought the idea was feasible.
Qiu Mang quickly opened his backpack, found the rope, tied it to the tree, and ran over to throw the other end of the rope to Ji Lun.
Just as Qiu Mang ran over, the big rock was so slippery that Ji Lun's hand slipped and he fell straight down!
"Qiu Mang! Don't worry about us! Go find Mr. White Eyebrows!"
After the two fell, Ji Lun's last words echoed throughout the valley.
"Senior!" Qiu Mang lay on the rock, looking at the spot where the two had fallen, her eyes red with worry.
"Brother Ji!" Lin Yuan also raised her hand to wipe away her tears.
Can a person survive falling from such a height?
Qiu Mang couldn't believe it. She slung her bag over her shoulder and headed down the mountain. She was determined to find them!
"Sister Qiu Mang! Where are you going?" Lin Yuan called out from behind.
"I'm going to save them!" Qiu Mang said without hesitation.
“But didn’t Brother Ji tell us to go find Mr. White Eyebrows first?” Lin Yuan reminded him.
