A nurse nearby looked nervous and quickly tugged at Fang Weiwei's arm, trying to dissuade her.
Fang Weiwei, however, didn't care at all. Instead, she raised her voice and said confidently, "We want everyone to hear this! Who does Dr. Zhao think he is? A savior? Just because he's Director Guan's student, does he think he's something special? With his saintly heart, I think he'd be lucky to even break even as a doctor, let alone make money!"
"Dr. Fang, please be careful, don't let the patient hear this!" another colleague anxiously reminded him.
Fang Weiwei stood in the middle of the corridor, casually glancing at the wards on both sides, and said with a contemptuous tone, "It's good that they heard this, let them give up this unrealistic idea as soon as possible. Otherwise, they really will treat the hospital as a charity! They think that even if they don't have money, they can still come to the hospital for treatment, and as long as they act pitiful and say a few words to the hospital, everyone will generously give them money to help with their medical expenses."
"Dr. Fang, please stop!" The nurse who came with her looked anxious, with fine beads of sweat on her forehead. She was clearly shocked by Fang Weiwei's unrestrained remarks.
"What? Do you also think Dr. Zhao did the right thing? Do you want to be some kind of living saint?"
Fang Weiwei not only didn't stop talking, but became even more agitated, raising her voice even higher, her eyes filled with disdain and resentment.
"I advise you to only do what you are capable of, and not to always take on too much work. Everyone has their own destiny. Whether you are a little radish or a little potato, when your time comes, you will leave. The King of Hell doesn't care whether you are one year old or a hundred years old. There is no distinction between young and old on the road to the underworld!"
Qiu Mang heard Fang Weiwei's words clearly in the ward; every word was like a sharp needle piercing straight into her heart.
She clenched her fists so tightly that her knuckles turned white from the force, barely managing to suppress the burning anger in her heart.
The woman next to him sighed, shook her head helplessly, and said, "This woman has a really sharp tongue! It seems we won't be able to afford Little Potato's medical bills!"
Fang Weiwei glanced through the window and inadvertently caught sight of Qiu Mang in the hospital room. She narrowed her eyes slightly, a hint of suspicion flashing in them.
After a while, Fang Weiwei found a secluded corner, took out her phone, and dialed Xu Jingyan's number.
"Weiwei, is there something you need?" Xu Jingyan's voice was light and cheerful on the other end of the phone, with a hint of a smile.
"Sister Jingyan, there's something I've been thinking about, and it seems a bit off. I'm not sure if I should tell you." Fang Weiwei's tone was somewhat mysterious.
"What's all the mystery about?" Xu Jingyan raised an eyebrow and asked curiously.
"Sister Jingyan, weren't you looking for the woman who brought President Lu to the hospital last time? I just wanted to ask, is her name Qiu Mang?" Fang Weiwei asked tentatively.
Upon hearing this, Xu Jingyan immediately became interested and asked, "Oh? You know her?"
Upon hearing this, Fang Weiwei became even more certain that the woman was no ordinary person, so she lowered her voice and said, "I just saw her, she's in the inpatient department of our hospital."
"Is she sick?" Xu Jingyan couldn't help but wonder.
Fang Weiwei quickly shook her head in denial, then said, "No, that's not it. Now for the important part I want to tell you. She's taking care of a little girl who's about three years old in the hospital, and she's claiming to others that the little girl is her sister. But I keep thinking about it, and it doesn't seem right. I suspect that the little girl is actually her daughter."
"Weiwei, this is not something you can joke about." Xu Jingyan's tone became serious.
Fang Weiwei, however, didn't take it to heart. She chuckled and continued her analysis: "Sister Jingyan, think about it carefully. When a child is sick and hospitalized, shouldn't the parents be the ones who should be by their side to take care of them? How can an older sister stay by her younger sister's side every day without leaving her side?"
And so many days have passed, yet the parents of the child she claims to have given have never shown up. Therefore, I think there's definitely something fishy going on. Qiu Mang most likely had the child out of wedlock, and is only claiming the little girl is her sister to protect her reputation.”
After listening, Xu Jingyan raised her hand to rub her temples, pondered for a moment, and then said, "What you said makes some sense. I understand."
After hanging up the phone, Xu Jingyan walked to the window, her gaze drifting leisurely towards the Sixth Hospital, a slight smile playing on her lips.
An illegitimate daughter, huh? Hmph, she doesn't believe that Lu Yanting would remain so calm if he knew this.
As Xu Jingyan thought this, a sly glint flashed in her eyes, and she took out her phone to call Lu Yanting.
"Yanting, I want to go to the hospital to pick up my medical report. Can you come with me?" Xu Jingyan said coquettishly.
Lu Yanting was sitting in his office looking through documents when he heard her say that. He was about to refuse when he suddenly remembered the phone call that Qiu Li had made to him that morning. The little girl had said in a soft, sweet voice that she missed him.
Lu Yanting thought it would be a good opportunity to see the little girl, so he swallowed his words and instead agreed, "Okay, I'll go with you."
In the afternoon, Xu Jingyan, arm in arm with Lu Yanting, walked in the hospital lobby. As they walked, they unknowingly arrived at the elevator for the inpatient department.
"Weren't you going to pick up your medical report? Why are you suddenly heading to the inpatient department?" Lu Yanting frowned slightly and asked with a puzzled look.
With a gentle smile on her face, Xu Jingyan explained slowly, "When Weiwei saw me last time, she said I didn't look well and my heart rate seemed a bit fast. I was a little worried and wanted to ask her how serious it was."
Lu Yanting didn't take her words to heart and silently followed her into the elevator of the inpatient department.
The elevator slowly ascended and stopped on the sixth floor. Xu Jingyan affectionately took Lu Yanting's hand and stepped out of the elevator with elegant posture.
After walking only a few steps, Xu Jingyan seemed to casually glance at one of the wards and turned to Lu Yanting, saying, "Yanting, I think I see an old friend."
Before Lu Yanting could react, she had already pulled him into the ward.
"Qiu...Qiu Mang...right?"
With a seemingly friendly smile on her face, Xu Jingyan deliberately pretended not to know the girl in front of her and asked.
Qiu Mang turned around upon hearing the sound and saw the two walking in side by side. Xu Jingyan was affectionately holding Lu Yanting's arm, her head resting gently on his shoulder, their behavior revealing their intimacy.
Lu Yanting also glanced at Qiu Mang with slight surprise. He had originally planned to accompany Xu Jingyan to collect the report, and then visit Qiu Li after she left. He never expected to meet Qiu Mang in this way.
"Ms. Xu...Mr. Lu, it's been a long time." Qiu Mang was stunned for a moment, then quickly stood up, a hint of awkwardness on her face.
"Big brother!"
