Chapter 157 Showing Off and Getting Slapped in the Face

"Miss, are you alright?" the saleswoman asked softly, a hint of doubt in her eyes.

"Ah!" Tian Jingjing suddenly snapped out of her reverie, and when she saw the saleswoman's face clearly, she was so frightened that she took several steps back.

"Oh, um...um...I..." Tian Jingjing, who was usually eloquent and quick-witted, became somewhat incoherent at this moment.

"If you have something to say, just say it slowly." The saleswoman maintained her smile, but that smile seemed to be wearing a businesslike mask, making people feel no warmth at all.

Tian Jingjing subconsciously turned around and secretly glanced outside. She found that Sister Zhang was still there, sticking her head out and staring straight in, motionless, like a stone lion.

Damn it! This cleaning lady is like a persistent ghost, is she so bored? She's just squatting by the door waiting to see her make a fool of herself! I'm definitely going to complain to her supervisor when we get out!

Tian Jingjing forced herself to remain calm, handed the watch to the saleswoman again, and said in a raised voice, "I'd like to come over and have this watch repaired."

The saleswoman's gaze quickly swept over the watch in Tian Jingjing's hand, her face still showing that troubled expression: "Miss, I was already being lenient by not being blunt with you earlier."

"We don't repair just any watch in our shop. We don't just put a similar logo on a watch and call it a Rolex. Even the most realistic replica is still just a replica, wouldn't you agree?"

Tian Jingjing felt as if she had eyes in the back of her head. Through the glass window, she seemed to see Sister Zhang's mocking face. Tian Jingjing was unwilling to accept this. How could she embarrass herself in front of Sister Zhang!

"You...you haven't even looked at it! How can you say mine is a fake watch without even looking at it?" Tian Jingjing said anxiously.

The saleswoman sneered and looked Tian Jingjing up and down. "Miss, I don't even need to look at you. Your entire outfit costs less than three hundred yuan. You don't even have a decent piece of clothing. How can I believe you can afford our watch?"

Tian Jingjing felt uneasy under Zhang Jie's scrutinizing gaze, but she calmed down when she thought of Zhang Jie, who was waiting to see her make a fool of herself.

"You, don't look down on me! I... I don't buy expensive clothes, but that's because I don't think it's necessary. I spend all my money on cars and houses, and this watch too. You'll see when you see it. I'm definitely not lying to you!"

The saleswoman, seeing how eager she was to explain, didn't want to pay her any attention. However, the thought of having such a poor-looking woman standing there was really an eyesore for their store.

So, he arrogantly stretched out his hand, beckoned to her with his white-gloved fingers, and said wearily, "Fine! Let's take a look then!"

Tian Jingjing gently placed the watch in the saleswoman's palm, but her heart felt as if it were being roasted over a fire, and the anxiety grew stronger.

She knew perfectly well that the saleswoman's seemingly casual but condescending words were just an appetizer. If the saleswoman found out the form was fake, she would be thrown out like a rag, and then Sister Zhang, who was waiting outside, would laugh at her!

If she had known she would run into Sister Zhang here, she would never have come today.

She was still feeling a little regretful when she heard the saleswoman's voice suddenly rise, full of joy: "Miss, please have a seat! We can repair your watch here. Please rest on the sofa for a while, and I'll make you a cup of tea and bring you some desserts."

Tian Jingjing was taken aback. The saleswoman's attitude had completely changed. Could it mean that the watch was genuine? She herself could hardly believe it, her eyes filled with astonishment.

"Miss, I need to take this watch to our repairman. I reckon it'll take some time to fix. Please have a seat." After saying this, the saleswoman turned to her colleague and told him to quickly bring tea and snacks.

The two walked into the inner room together. The colleague who was asked to pour tea was a little puzzled. "Are you really that serious? It's just a watch. That watch is only worth an average price in our store."

The saleswoman glanced at her colleague and said in a low voice, "What do you know? Our store keeps sales records for all the watches. Even if there aren't any records, I remember very clearly that this is the same watch that Mr. Lu bought back then!"

Her companion looked suspicious, secretly glancing in Tian Jingjing's direction, and whispered, "Are you sure? Could this watch be fake? You must be mistaken, right? President Lu, Lu Yanting? You're not mistaken, are you?"

The saleswoman raised her chin slightly, looking completely certain: "There's absolutely no mistake! So, you'd better hurry up and pour some tea."

After saying that, she sighed softly and pouted, saying, "Sigh, if I had known that domineering CEOs liked this kind of girl, I should have taken the initiative back then. In terms of looks, I'm definitely better looking than her!"

"Alright, alright, hurry up and let the master check the watch! Stop daydreaming!" his companion urged impatiently.

Tian Jingjing sat on the sofa and enjoyed "VIP treatment" for a full half hour. The saleswomen served her tea and pastries, which made her vanity soar.

She glanced at Sister Zhang, who was still standing at the door, out of the corner of her eye, and a smug smile crept onto her lips.

When the saleswoman carefully repackaged the repaired watch and respectfully handed it to her with both hands, Tian Jingjing's smugness was practically written all over her face.

Tian Jingjing had just pinched a few pieces of pastry, and there were still some crumbs on her fingertips. She casually clapped her hands before reaching for the bag.

She glanced at the unfinished pastries on the table. Luxury stores are really something else; even the pastries were so delicious. It was a bit of a pity, though. She had wanted to pack them up, but she was afraid people would laugh at her, so she had to reluctantly give them up.

Seeing that Sister Zhang was still standing at the door, Tian Jingjing immediately strode out. That's right, she was afraid that if she didn't go out, Sister Zhang would lose patience and watch her show off and get humiliated.

"Welcome to visit us again!" The saleswoman bowed deeply, a full ninety-degree bow, her face full of respect.

Tian Jingjing was so excited she almost jumped up on the spot. This treatment was simply too much!

"Jing... Jingjing..." Sister Zhang looked at her coming out of the store, her face full of astonishment.

With a beaming smile, Tian Jingjing held up the bag bearing the brand logo and said crisply, "Sister Zhang, you go to work, I'm off!"

After saying that, she turned and walked away quickly, muttering to herself as she went: "The mall management is quite understanding. They actually let a cleaning lady stand in front of the store and watch customers show off and be humiliated for half an hour without stopping her. That's really good. I'll have to give them a thumbs up later!"

When Tian Jingjing got home in the afternoon, she lazily nestled on the bed, repeatedly stroking the watch in her hand. She remembered what she had heard in the store earlier that day, so she took out her phone out of curiosity.
