Chapter 163 The Man with a Scar on His Tiger's Mouth

The page redirected, and what caught my eye was a recruitment advertisement for underground boxing.

...

Qiu Mang was on the early shift today. At 5 p.m., she changed her clothes and prepared to leave work.

While at work, Qiu Mang overheard her colleagues chatting about a new children's bookstore that had opened upstairs. She thought about picking out a few books for her daughter, Qiu Li, so as soon as she left the store, she headed towards the elevator.

She had just stepped into the elevator when a tall, burly man followed her in. The man was dressed in all black, with a baseball cap pulled low over his head, obscuring his face.

Qiu Mang recalled her conversation with her colleagues earlier that day. The store should be on the 21st floor, so she reached out to press the elevator button.

However, just as she was about to touch the button, a rough, dark hand reached out first. It was the man who had come in behind her, and he pressed the button for the thirtieth floor.

The elevator was crowded, and the man was standing right in front of her. Qiu Mang couldn't help but look at the man's hand again.

The man's hands were clearly sun-dried, with a dark complexion and slightly peeling skin. The scar on the web of his hand was particularly striking, like a sinister eye staring menacingly in Qiu Mang's direction.

A scar on the tiger's mouth? For some reason, Qiu Mang felt that this scene was familiar, and he seemed to have heard of this scar somewhere before.

In a flash, she suddenly realized—wait…the man with the scar on his hand, isn't that…?

Qiu Mang instinctively covered her mouth with her hand, her eyes wide with shock, and her heart pounded as if it would burst out of her chest.

Just then, a woman in the elevator shouted, "Miss, which floor do you want to go to? Why didn't you press the elevator button?"

The woman's voice broke the silence in the elevator, and everyone stopped playing on their phones and turned to look at Qiu Mang.

Suddenly being called out by name, Qiu Mang felt her heart pounding. At that moment, she just wanted to minimize her presence. She tried her best to calm herself down, took a deep breath, and nodded slightly to the woman, "I'm going to the thirtieth floor too."

"Oh," the woman replied casually.

The elevator slowly ascended, with people constantly coming in and going out.

But when they reached the 26th floor, the spacious elevator was empty except for Qiu Mang and the man with the scar on his hand.

Qiu Mang stood behind the man, her gaze fixed straight ahead, finally settling on his back.

The man did nothing, just stood there quietly, yet he exuded a chilling aura of menace, like an invisible pressure that made Qiu Mang's back tingle slightly.

Watching the elevator slowly rise from floor 26 to floor 30, Qiu Mang felt as if an entire century had passed in that short time.

With a "ding," the elevator arrived at the 30th floor, and the elevator doors finally opened.

The man walked out first, and Qiu Mang followed him downstairs.

The 30th floor houses a karaoke room, a card room, and several private rooms for entertainment such as billiards and bowling.

Qiu Mang took out her phone to tell Lu Yanting that she had seen the murderer who had kidnapped him and Xu Jingyan.

But seeing the man pass by the corner, if she didn't follow, she might never see him again.

So Qiu Mang put down her phone and followed them again.

The man had long legs and walked very fast; Qiu Mang had a great deal of effort to keep up with him.

Suddenly, the man raised his hand and pulled his hat brim down again, clearly trying to conceal his face.

Finally, when they reached the door of a private room, the man pushed it open and went inside.

Qiu Mang stood not far away and saw several people in the private room through a crack in the door.

The private room was dimly lit, but Qiu Mang still spotted Lu Yanting sitting in the center of the sofa at a glance.

After the man in the baseball cap entered, he strode straight toward Lu Yanting. Qiu Mang's gaze inadvertently swept to the man's lower back, where there was a slight bulge, which, from a distance, looked as if something was clipped to his waist.

In an instant, the man's hand reached down to his lower back, a movement that made Qiu Mang's heart skip a beat. A terrifying thought flashed through his mind: Could these assassins be...?

"Oh no!" Qiu Mang panicked. Before the door to the private room was completely closed, she rushed in without thinking.

Just before the man's hand was about to touch her lower back, Qiu Mang lunged at Lu Yanting, her expression terrified, and shouted at the top of her lungs, "Watch out! He's going to kill you!"

Lu Yanting's expression changed drastically. Instinctively, he quickly pulled Qiu Mang behind him to protect her.

With her piercing scream, the atmosphere in the entire private room instantly became tense, and everyone turned to look.

Even the security guards at the door rushed in as if facing a formidable enemy because of her shout, staring warily at the man wearing a baseball cap.

"Be careful, he has a gun on his waist!" Qiu Mang pointed a trembling finger directly at the man.

The man in the baseball cap paused slightly, then slowly lifted his shirt to reveal a cell phone in his back pocket. He took the phone out, gave a wry smile, and said, "You mean this?"

After the man finished speaking, he took off his hat, revealing a handsome face. Qiu Mang looked at the phone in the man's hand, and then stared at his pampered hands, her face full of disbelief.

This man, not to mention the horrible scar on his hand, even had smooth and fair skin. He was clearly not the same person as the man I bumped into in the elevator!

Qiu Mang felt a little relieved, but when she thought of the person in the elevator, and that he was also on the thirtieth floor, her face remained ashen.

"Brother Yanting! This is the first time I've been mistaken for an assassin. Tsk, this feeling is quite novel!" Wang He shrugged and smiled mockingly.

"Clap clap clap..." The crisp sound of clapping suddenly rang out.

Hua Xiao narrowed his eyes slightly, the corners of his fox-like eyes lifting gently, and teased, "Yan Ting, I really didn't expect that A Mang cares about you so much. To save you, he actually dared to step forward and take a bullet for you! Tsk tsk tsk, that's truly rare!"

"Yes, Mr. Lu, this young lady is so brave, it's truly admirable! If I could have someone like her in my life, willing to risk their life to protect me, then my life would not have been in vain!" someone on the sofa echoed.

Lu Yanting stared at Qiu Mang's pale face, but he was not as optimistic as others. He knew Qiu Mang too well; this matter was not so simple.

Lu Yanting subtly gave Yan Kai, who was standing to the side, a wink. Yan Kai understood and quietly slipped away.

About ten minutes later, Yan Kai returned, his face so gloomy it looked like it could drip water. He leaned close to Lu Yanting and whispered a few words in his ear.

Lu Yanting's eyes instantly turned cold, and he asked in a deep voice, "Are you sure?"
