Qiu Mang glanced at Ji Lun beside her, and fearing he might hear, she quietly took a few steps to the side, creating some distance before saying, "This has nothing to do with you, Mr. Lu, right?"
Lu Yanting stubbed out his cigarette sharply, his tone so cold it could freeze someone to death: "What do you mean it's okay? Tell me, where is it?"
Qiu Mang took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down, and said, "President Lu, we had an agreement before that I didn't want to ruin other people's relationship, so now, please set me free!"
Lu Yanting was blinded by anger and had no time to ponder the meaning behind her words. He simply repeated, "I'll ask you one last time, where are you now? Who are you with?"
Qiu Mang's eyes suddenly reddened, and her voice became choked with emotion: "I'm outside with my friends."
Lu Yanting's fingers tapped rhythmically on the steering wheel unconsciously, then he commanded in an unquestionable tone, "Get back to Shuiyue Huating, now! Immediately!"
Qiu Mang trembled with rage and raised her hand to hang up the phone, but a man's icy voice came first from the other end: "A contract is between two parties, not something you can decide alone. I said it's not over, so you'd better come over here obediently. Don't forget, you can only listen to me, no matter when, where, or in what position!"
After a pause, the man's tone carried a strong threat: "That man, his name is Ji Lun, right?"
Upon hearing this, Qiu Mang's heart sank, and her hand holding the phone trembled slightly.
She looked around and sure enough, she saw the black Maybach under the shade of the tree. Her voice was a little flustered, "Mr. Lu, please don't do anything rash, this has nothing to do with him."
Lu Yanting snorted coldly, his voice coming through the receiver with a chilling edge: "Qiu Mang, you'd better know your place! You know that if I wanted to, I could make that guy surnamed Ji unable to stay in Guangcheng!"
Qiu Mang bit her lower lip, tears welling up in her eyes, a mixture of stubbornness and anger. She didn't want to show weakness at this moment, and she didn't want to implicate Ji Lun.
She looked up at Ji Lun, who was watching her with concern not far away, and felt a pang of guilt. "Lu Yanting, what exactly do you want?"
"What do you want?" Lu Yanting laughed wildly as if he had heard the biggest joke in the world, but there was no joy in his laughter, only endless mockery and coldness.
"Qiu Mang, from the day you agreed to this, you should have known that you have no right to say no. I'm giving you ten minutes. If I don't see you at Shuiyue Huating, you'll bear the consequences."
After saying that, he hung up the phone without waiting for Qiu Mang's response.
Qiu Mang gripped her phone tightly, her heart filled with mixed emotions. She slowly walked towards Ji Lun, forcing a relaxed smile onto her face.
"Excuse me, senior, a friend of mine needs to see me about something, so I have to go over there!"
Ji Lun frowned slightly as he looked at her obviously reddened eyes, his eyes full of worry: "Amang, have you run into some trouble? If you need any help, be sure to tell me."
Qiu Mang shook her head. "It's nothing, senior. Thank you for today."
After Qiu Mang finished speaking, he hailed a taxi.
Upon arriving at Shuiyue Huating, Qiu Mang went straight to Lu Yanting's residence. The door was not closed, and she pushed it open and entered.
In the living room, Lu Yanting was sitting on the sofa with his legs crossed, playing with a lighter in his hand. When he saw her come in, a meaningful smile appeared on his lips: "You're pretty fast. Looks like you're not so stupid as to completely disregard the consequences."
Qiu Mang glared at him and demanded, "Lu Yanting, why did you do this? My senior and I are just ordinary friends. What right do you have to interfere in my life?"
Lu Yanting slowly stood up and approached her step by step, exuding a powerful aura. He stopped when they were close enough to feel each other's breath, lowered his head slightly, and stared into Qiu Mang's eyes.
"Just a friend? You're getting this worked up over just a friend?"
Qiu Mang's cheeks flushed with anger. She stubbornly raised her head and met his gaze: "Whether you believe it or not, Ji Lun was my senior in college. Our contract didn't stipulate that I can't make friends."
Lu Yanting sneered, reached out and gently pinched Qiu Mang's chin, forcing her to look at him: "There are no rules, but don't forget, as long as the contract is in place, you belong to me completely, including your time and your freedom. I will not allow any uncertainties to arise."
After the man finished speaking, a dark light flashed in his eyes, carrying an undeniable domineering air. He suddenly leaned forward and, in an almost predatory manner, lowered his head to kiss her soft, petal-like lips.
Qiu Mang felt a buzzing in his brain, his eyes widened instantly, filled with panic and anger, and he frantically pounded and pushed against his hard, iron-like chest, trying to break free from his restraints.
But compared to the man's strong and powerful physique and brute strength, her slender wrists were like a mantis trying to stop a chariot. In the blink of an eye, she was firmly imprisoned in the man's arms.
Qiu Mang's face flushed red. With her last bit of strength, she forcefully shook off the man's tightly clasped hands and staggered back several steps.
Her chest heaved violently as she gasped for breath, her eyes filled with undisguised disgust as she glared at the man before her and roared, "This is ridiculous, Lu Yanting! I've had enough!"
Lu Yanting stared into her angry eyes and for a moment felt a pang of pity.
He couldn't help but raise his hand, his fingers slightly curled, wanting to touch her disheveled hair.
Qiu Mang tilted her head to avoid his touch, her eyes filled with a fierce wariness, like an impenetrable fortress.
Lu Yanting frowned slightly, a rare look of frustration appearing on his usually cold and stern face. His tone softened for the first time, carrying a hint of compromise and helplessness as he softly said, "Mangmang, don't be like this. It's my fault. Please stop making a fuss..."
Qiu Mang looked straight at him, her dark eyes full of frankness: "Lu Yanting, regarding Ji Lun, I can tell you very clearly that he and I are just schoolmates, there is no other relationship between us."
Lu Yanting's deep eyes were fixed on her, as if they contained an entire universe, reflecting the twinkling starlight outside the window.
Her voice, however, was as cold and hard as frost on a cold night: "Then why didn't you answer my calls? And what exactly did that message you sent me mean? Hmm?"
The last syllable rose slightly, carrying an unavoidable sense of pressure.
Qiu Mang took a deep breath, trying to calm her inner turmoil. "That message meant exactly what it said. You should understand that it's time for our relationship to end."
Lu Yanting's brows furrowed, his expression forming a deep frown. "What do you mean I should understand? What exactly should I understand? Explain yourself!"
