Chapter 61 Medical Disputes?

Qiu Mang glanced at Qiu Li and thought that since they were already here, they might as well get a regular appointment and have a check-up so they would have a better understanding of the situation.

So she registered for a regular appointment again. Qiu Mang took the number and went to the doctor's office. Even though it was a regular appointment, there was still a long queue outside the office.

Qiu Mang sat on the bench with Qiu Li in her arms, waiting for their number to be called. Around eleven o'clock, Qiu Li got hungry and started crying in Qiu Mang's arms, becoming irritable.

Qiu Mang glanced at the time and realized that there were only two people ahead of her before it was her turn, so she took out a cookie and gave it to Qiu Li.

Then she patted Qiu Li's shoulder and coaxed her softly, "Be good, Qiu Li. Have a cookie to tide you over. After you see the doctor, I'll take you to eat something delicious, okay?"

Qiu Li calmed down a little after finishing the biscuit.

Just then, the queuing machine at the clinic door slowly called out her number. Qiu Mang was overjoyed and quickly stood up with Qiu Li in her arms, walking briskly towards the clinic.

Before she could even step into the examination room, the doctor had already efficiently tidied up the medical records on the table. While taking off his stethoscope, he said impatiently, "It's lunch break time. I have to go eat. Come back this afternoon."

Upon hearing this, Qiu Mang's hopes shattered like bubbles. She subconsciously checked the time; her phone screen clearly showed 11:00 AM, but the doctor's schedule posted on the wall clearly stated that lunch break was at 11:30 AM!

Qiu Mang was immediately furious. Thinking of Qiu Li waiting here hungry for so long, a wave of grievances welled up in her heart.

She raised her voice and demanded, "Doctor, it's only eleven o'clock, why are you stopping? My sister has been waiting this long on an empty stomach, you can't just say you're not going to see her!"

The doctor, however, showed no sign of stopping what he was doing and replied without even looking up, "That's your own problem. If I'm seeing you patients past 11:30, then I'll miss my own meal time, and I need to rest too."

Qiu Mang pursed her lips. She understood the doctor's difficulties, but she didn't want to waste her appointment. So she said, "Doctor, how about this? You can watch over my sister first. If you haven't finished by 11:30, you can go home. We won't take up your rest time, okay?"

After listening, the female doctor chuckled twice. "Interesting, huh? These patients these days are really something else. They actually dare to ask doctors to do things for them?"

After she finished speaking, her face instantly turned cold. "I just said that it's almost lunchtime. Doctors are human too. You can't expect doctors to work day and night to take care of you, can you?"

Upon hearing this, Qiu Mang became even more furious, her eyes reddening with anger. She took a step forward and argued, "I just said I won't interfere with your mealtime, nor do I need you to work yourself to sleep. Besides, I got a morning appointment. Since you're on duty, you should finish seeing all the morning appointments!"

The doctor, not to be outdone, slammed the medical record onto the table, stood up, crossed his arms, and retorted, "I told you, this has nothing to do with me. There are so many appointments this morning, how can I possibly see them all? If you have any complaints, go to the registration desk!"

Qiu Mang originally just wanted her to examine Qiu Li first, but the female doctor in front of her had a terrible attitude. Qiu Mang gritted her teeth and looked at her with red eyes.

She lowered her head slightly, quickly glanced at the name tag on the doctor's chest, her voice trembling slightly yet revealing a stubbornness.

"Dr. Fang Weiwei, right? I'll remember you. Don't worry, I will definitely report this matter. However, I won't report the problem at the registration desk. I want to know whether it's in accordance with the rules and whether a doctor has any professional ethics issues to refuse to see a patient half an hour before the designated lunch break time!"

"you!"

Upon hearing this, Fang Weiwei's face instantly turned ashen. Clearly, Qiu Mang's words had struck a nerve. She trembled with anger, pointing a finger at Qiu Mang, her fingertips shaking slightly with rage.

The argument between the two echoed down the corridor, drawing the attention of patients and their families waiting nearby.

"Another medical dispute? They're such a headache!"

In the corridor, Lu Yanting stood at the back of the crowd, his thin lips slightly parted, and he uttered these words expressionlessly. Then, with his long legs, he walked straight upstairs.

At this moment, in the dean's office, Dean Fang was sitting at his desk, intently reviewing the documents.

Hearing the noise at the door, she looked up and saw Lu Yanting come in. She was slightly taken aback at first, but then her face instantly broke into an extremely bright smile.

"Oh, Yanting! I really didn't expect you to come today. I'm so sorry for not greeting you properly!" Dean Fang hurriedly stood up from his seat, walked around the desk, his face full of a flattering smile, and quickly extended his hand to Lu Yanting.

"Dean Fang," Lu Yanting replied calmly, extending his hand to shake hands politely with the other party.

"Yanting, please have a seat!" Dean Fang greeted him warmly as he strode to the side, picked up the teapot, and poured himself a cup of tea. "How has your father's health been lately?"

Lu Yanting settled comfortably on the soft sofa, crossed his legs elegantly, and said calmly and slowly, "It's the same as always, nothing much has changed."

After pouring the tea, Dean Fang walked around the coffee table and carefully sat down opposite Lu Yanting, a perfectly measured ingratiating smile on his face. He said, "Yanting, regarding the funds you generously donated to the hospital last time, after careful discussion, our hospital has tentatively decided to use them as research funding, specifically for the research of targeted cancer drugs. What do you think?"

Lu Yanting picked up his teacup. Upon hearing the decision, his brows furrowed slightly, and he subconsciously repeated, "Research funding?"

Upon seeing this, Dean Fang nodded hurriedly, "Yes, many hospitals are now vigorously carrying out research in this area. Our hospital certainly can't fall behind, can it? We have to keep up with the forefront and not lag behind in medical research."

Lu Yanting slowly put down his teacup, leaned back on the sofa, and narrowed his eyes slightly, revealing a scrutinizing look in his deep gaze.

He said slowly, "Dean Fang, as far as I know, the Sixth Hospital has always focused on treating heart disease. At this stage, don't you think your current research direction has deviated from the hospital's core positioning?"

Dean Fang belatedly realized that something was off about Lu Yanting's tone, and his expression instantly became somewhat unnatural, his smile freezing for a moment.

He thought for a moment and explained, "Our hospital's cardiology and surgery departments are now among the top in the country, and we also have the most elite research team in the country. I think we don't need to worry too much about this aspect, so..."

After Dean Fang finished speaking, he cautiously observed Lu Yanting's expression, his heart pounding with anxiety.

"oh?"
