Believe it for nothing! This man only knew that a man had appeared in her life, and he didn't give her a chance to explain at all.
Lu Yanting raised his hand and subconsciously touched his nose, his expression somewhat unnatural.
Qiu Mang withdrew her gaze and looked at Qiu Li, who was drowsy in her arms. Qiu Mang raised her hand and gently patted her back, her eyes full of doting affection.
"Lu Yanting, why don't you go back first? I need to take Qiu Li back to bathe quickly. She has to get up early for school tomorrow, so we can't let her miss her rest."
Lu Yanting stretched out his arm, placing his warm hand on Qiu Mang's shoulder. With a slight pull, he gently brought her to his side, a faint smile playing on his lips as he teased softly, "What? Are you planning to kick me out?"
Qiu Mang knew his little scheme, but she wasn't afraid at all today. She raised her chin slightly and gave Lu Yanting a raised eyebrow. "I'm sorry, Mr. Lu, I'm on my period today, so it's inconvenient."
Lu Yanting stiffened, a hint of embarrassment flashing across his face. Well, he had almost forgotten that women have menstrual cycles. Fine, then he would let her off the hook.
Qiu Mang has received several interview invitations from companies recently, and after looking at them, she noticed that many of them require her to work overtime.
Qiu Mang frowned. If it were just her, she wouldn't mind working overtime, but Qiu Li was still young, and she couldn't possibly devote all her time and energy to work. Spending time with the child was equally important.
So Qiu Mang re-screened her interview invitations and was surprised to find that the job with the most flexible hours was actually a sales clerk at a high-end clothing store.
With morning, afternoon, and evening shifts, eight days off a month, and no overtime, Qiu Mang's eyes lit up. This was much more flexible than her previous company.
Most importantly, the base salary alone was eight thousand yuan, plus other commissions and benefits, which completely met her expectations!
After thinking about it, Qiu Mang decided to go for an interview at the company the next day.
The next day, Qiu Mang put on light makeup and went out.
Upon arriving at her destination, Qiu Mang realized that the building in front of her was the same place where she had eaten with Lu Yanting before—Cloud.
Qiu Mang followed the address and entered the first floor of the building. The last time he came, it was at night, and he took the elevator directly from the underground parking lot to the top floor, so he never noticed that the building was decorated in such a grand and luxurious style.
Floors one through eight are filled with high-end luxury brands, including luxury cars, Rolex watches, internationally renowned jewelry brands, and various luxury bags, clothes, and perfumes.
Qiu Mang took a deep breath, stepped into the elevator, and held a full resume in her hand, feeling somewhat nervous.
The elevator stopped on the sixth floor, and Qiu Mang stepped out and quickly found the store where she was to have the interview.
Inside the store, several sales assistants in business suits and with impeccable makeup looked up at the sound and sized her up. Seeing her simple and plain clothes, they assumed she was just a customer with little purchasing power, so they quickly lowered their heads as if they hadn't seen anything and continued with their other tasks.
Qiu Mang didn't care about their attitude. She walked straight to the cashier with a friendly smile on her face and said softly, "Hello, I'm here for an interview. May I ask who your store manager is?"
Behind the stage, the woman with a low ponytail looked up at the sound, her eyes scrutinizing Qiu Mang carefully once again.
After a moment, she slowly opened her mouth and said, "I'm sorry, but our high-end stores have very high requirements for the aesthetic standards and keen sense of fashion trends of our staff. Your entire outfit probably doesn't even cost more than a thousand yuan."
After speaking, the woman hesitated slightly, her brows furrowing, her eyes filled with disdain. "So... you should understand what I mean, right?"
Qiu Mang maintained her calm smile. "Your recruitment requirements state that you need to be under 28 years old, have a bachelor's degree, have sales experience, and be presentable, right? I think I meet those requirements."
As Qiu Mang spoke, he handed the resume in his hand to the woman.
The woman snorted coldly, casually placing the pen on the table with a crisp sound. She crossed her arms and didn't reach for it.
The woman continued in a somewhat condescending tone, "Hmph, don't be naive. What's written on the paper is just the most basic threshold. There are plenty of people who can cross that threshold, but to truly gain a foothold in this shop, that alone is far from enough. We deal with high-end clients who are either rich or powerful every day. They have very discerning eyes. I can tell you're just a recent graduate. With your social experience, you simply can't serve these customers."
Qiu Mang was somewhat puzzled, "But I have sales experience, my last job was in sales... I..."
Before Qiu Mang could finish speaking, the woman waved her hand impatiently and said, "Excuse me, miss, you'd better look at other jobs!"
Seeing that the woman in front of him was not giving him any chance, Qiu Mang had no choice but to give up. Finding a job requires both parties to be compatible, and since the other party did not like him, he could not force her.
Qiu Mang left, somewhat dejected, clutching her resume.
As I approached the corner, I could faintly hear voices coming from inside the shop.
"Shopkeeper Liu, here for another interview? This young lady has the education, the experience, and she's quite pretty too. Why were you turned down again?" A clear female voice asked, sounding puzzled.
Immediately following was the woman's impatient snort: "Hmph, so what? I told you long ago, my cousin is coming from our hometown next month. This position is reserved for her. Even if the King of Heaven himself came, it wouldn't matter. If it weren't for the strict requirements from above, I wouldn't bother sending out the job posting. Rejecting so many people every day is exhausting."
Upon hearing this conversation, Qiu Mang gave a bitter smile. It was true that man proposes, God disposes. He had thought that he was rejected because of his own shortcomings, but he never expected that there was another reason behind it.
She dragged her slightly heavy steps to the restroom, stood in front of the sink, and let the water flow over her palms.
Just as I was lost in thought, a girl in a white dress suddenly rushed in beside me.
The girl had long, jet-black hair. She was looking down slightly, clutching a tissue in her hand, frantically wiping the stains on her skirt. She had clearly gotten her period and soiled the skirt.
After wiping herself, the girl frantically rummaged through her pink bag, but after a while, she still couldn't find anything.
Seeing this, Qiu Mang quickly took out a sanitary napkin from his bag, handed it to the girl, and said softly, "Here, use this first."
