Chapter 130 The Little Tyrant Arrives
The moment the lights in the operating room went out, Mo Xiaohan leaned against the wall as if all his strength had been drained away.
"Congratulations, Mr. Mo, it's a boy." Doctor Lin came out holding the swaddling clothes, a relieved smile on his face: "Weighing 6.3 jin (15.3 catties), mother and child are safe."
The small swaddling clothes were handed to Mo Xiaohan. He took it with his stiff arms, his fingers trembling slightly beside the baby's wrinkled cheeks.
"Little tyrant..." He whispered softly, and his fingertips trembled as he lightly touched the tip of the child's nose. The baby suddenly pouted and cried like a cat, and he felt as if he was scalded in an instant.
Savika laughed out loud beside him: "Well, now someone will punish you."
Mo Xiaohan held the child for only a moment before stuffing it into the nanny's hands: "...Take the child away first." His voice was hoarse, "Where's Xingxing?"
"Madam, the anesthetic hasn't worn off yet. She's in the observation room."
Mo Xiaohan practically rushed into the observation room, his steps hurried and chaotic, but he lowered his voice as he approached the bed. Ruan Xingchen lay quietly on the bed, his face pale but peaceful from the anesthetic still on.
His fingertips trembled and hovered above her cheek, but he didn't dare to touch it. In the end, he only dared to gently touch her temples.
"Is she in pain?" he asked the nurse in a hoarse voice, but his eyes were fixed on Ruan Xingchen's sleeping face.
The nurse, who was adjusting the drip, laughed when she heard this: "The cesarean section anesthesia hasn't worn off yet...Mr. Mo, would you please go check on the baby first?"
"Let's talk about it after she wakes up." He leaned over and rested his forehead on the back of Ruan Xingchen's hand. The only sounds in the observation room were the regular ticking of the instruments and the two people's shallow breathing.
Outside the glass window of the nursery, Su Lixia watched the nanny bathing the baby. The little ball was flapping its arms, which looked like lotus roots, in the warm water.
"It's so small..." she exclaimed, gesturing through the glass, "Not even as long as your arm!"
Savika leaned in closer to examine it, and said, "Tsk!" "It's wrinkled, like a little monkey." Seeing Su Lixia glaring at him in disapproval, he immediately changed his tone, "...a monkey as handsome as Mr. Mo."
At this moment, the little fellow turned towards them without warning. His eyes were still tightly closed, but his chin was slightly raised. Between his brows, there was a natural sense of innate pressure, which made Savika's heart tremble for no reason.
"Is he, is he glaring at me?" He took a half step back in shock. "This brat... will definitely be harder to deal with than Mr. Mo in the future..."
Su Lixia couldn't help laughing, and tenderness appeared in her eyes: "It's obviously very cute."
"Can we have a daughter?" He suddenly hugged her from behind, his breath brushing her ears, "A little crybaby like you..."
"Who wants to give birth!" Su Lixia's ears instantly turned red. "And how do you know it's a girl..."
He held her tighter, chuckled against her earlobe, "I just know. When the time comes, let this little tyrant be her bodyguard."
Su Lixia buried her hot face in Savika's neck. The air was filled with tacit silence and their accelerated heartbeats.
Inside the ward, Ruan Xingchen's eyelashes trembled slightly. Mo Xiaohan immediately held his breath, leaned forward, and whispered almost close to her ear, "Xingxing?"
Ruan Xingchen slowly opened her eyes, her vision still a little blurry. But when she met his eyes filled with worry, she curled her lips weakly: "Xiaohan...where's the baby?"
"She's in the bath. The nanny is watching. She's healthy." He replied hastily, tightening his fingers and wrapping her hand completely in his palm. "How do you feel? Does it hurt?"
"I'm fine... just a little tired." Her voice was weak, and her eyes fell gently on his tense face. "You've been here the whole time? Didn't you go to see the baby?"
"Yeah." He responded briefly, leaning over and pressing his forehead against hers, his voice hoarse from having survived a disaster. "I'm not going anywhere until you wake up."
At this time, the nanny came in holding the cleaned little ball. "Mr. Mo, is Madam awake? It's great, the baby can get close to her mother."
Mo Xiaohan then stood up, but his eyes were still fixed on Ruan Xingchen.
The nanny gently placed the little ball next to Ruan Xingchen's pillow. The little guy seemed to smell his mother's scent, rubbed his little head against her, and his wrinkled little face calmed down.
Ruan Xingchen turned her head and pressed her cheek against the baby's soft skin, her eyes filled with gentle tears: "He looks like you..."
"Like you." Mo Xiaohan finally paid some attention to the little boy. His tone was complicated, with the clumsiness of a new father and the emotion that was difficult to conceal.
Ruan Xingchen chuckled, and frowned slightly as the wound moved. Mo Xiaohan immediately became nervous: "What's wrong? Does it hurt? Call a doctor!"
"It's okay..." Ruan Xingchen held him back, "He just smiled. Look at him, he's so well behaved. How can he look like a little tyrant?"
Mo Xiaohan looked at the little ball nestled against Ruan Xingchen's neck, and the hardest corner of his heart seemed to be completely melted by something.
He reached out and gently rubbed the baby's incredibly delicate cheek with his fingertips. This time he didn't tremble. The baby suddenly moved, and its little hand grasped the air, just in time to hold his finger.
At this moment, the most feared man in Southeast Asia had tears in his eyes.
The little girl who gave him cookies seventeen years ago was the only light in his bloody life. Now, that little girl gave him a home as a place to stay, and used their blood to give eternity to this love.
