Chapter 83: Prisoner Bird in Camp
Sunlight filtered through the cracks in the wooden house, falling speckled upon the bloodstains on the bed sheet. Su Lixia was still curled up in the corner of the bed, wrapped in the military jacket that Savika had thrown to her. The smell of gunpowder and blood still lingered on the fabric.
She stared at the bruise on her wrist in a daze. The purple-red mark was like an ugly shackle, stubbornly reminding her of everything that happened last night.
A strange country, a filthy cage, and that devilish young officer. His body temperature and strength burned on his skin like a branding iron.
The wooden door was pushed open with a creaky sound. The sound was particularly clear in the silent room, causing her whole body to stiffen, and her back suddenly tensed like a frightened rabbit.
Savika walked in, carrying a bag of food. He had just finished a shower, his black hair still dripping with water, which trickled down his neck into the open collar of his military uniform, revealing a fresh knife wound on his collarbone, the edges of the scab reddening—clearly, he had just finished a killing spree.
Su Lixia raised her red and swollen eyes and said in a hoarse voice: "...Give me the medicine."
Savika raised his eyebrows and threw the food on the table: "What medicine?" He asked knowingly, with a hint of nonchalant amusement in his tone.
"Birth control pills." She enunciated the words heavily, as if chewing on some kind of hatred.
Hearing this, Savika walked over to her and squatted down. The sunlight squeezed in through the window, just outlining his handsome and almost holy features. However, in those beautiful eyes, there was a chilling undercurrent of danger.
"Why do you want to eat?" He reached out and pinched her chin, forcing her to look up at him. The emerald ring on her knuckles hurt her jaw.
"You..." Su Lixia clutched the military jacket wrapped around her body, "You did that last night... I'm going to get pregnant!"
"Wouldn't that be even better?" He chuckled, but his eyes were cold as frost. "Giving birth to a little executioner, like me, would be so much fun."
Su Lixia was shaking uncontrollably, her chest felt like it was being pressed down by a huge rock, and she couldn't breathe.
"you--"
"Me what?" Savika interrupted her, gently stroking the broken skin at the corner of her lip with her calloused thumb. Her movements were almost gentle, but her tone was oppressive. "Why? You don't want to bear my child?"
His fingertips suddenly tightened, squeezing her jaw painfully.
"It seems that words are useless." He let go of her hand, and when he stood up, his military boots made a cold sound on the floor.
He grabbed a corner of her coat and dragged her out the door. Su Lixia was caught off guard and staggered. The hem of her coat slipped off, revealing a large purple area on her waist and abdomen. She hurriedly tried to pull it away, but he held her shoulders with his backhand.
"Put it on." His voice was cold and hard, and his eyes were filled with undisguised possessiveness as they swept over her exposed skin. "Don't let others dirty your eyes."
Su Lixia gritted her teeth, wrapping her coat tightly around her. Her ankles scraped red from the rough ground as he dragged her to the center of the camp. Two soldiers immediately stepped forward, one on each side, clamping her arms with an iron-like grip, immobilizing her.
In the open space in the center of the camp, several Naga captives were chained and kneeling in a row.
Savika walked straight to the wooden chair and sat down. "Let's get started." He waved his hand nonchalantly.
The soldiers immediately stepped forward and pierced the prisoners' ankles with red-hot iron spears.
The shrill screams instantly resounded throughout the entire camp, startling the flocks of birds living in the forest and sending them flying across the gray sky.
"Does it hurt?" Savika looked at one of the captives who was curled up in pain. His tone was as innocent as a boy next door, but there was no mercy in his eyes.
The only response he got was a more frantic scream. Broken sobs rolled out of the prisoner's throat, and his body twitched violently under the chains.
Savika smiled, turned to look at Su Lixia who was being held aside by the soldiers, and showed off cruelly in her eyes: "Look, they can scream even more than you."
Su Lixia's face turned pale, and she felt nauseous.
She didn't understand why this young boy, who looked even a little immature, could be so cruel?
Savika stood up and walked in front of her. The hand with the emerald ring gently lifted her chin, forcing her to look at him: "Are you scared?"
Su Lixia turned her face away tremblingly, not daring to look into his smiling eyes again, which concealed an abyss that she could not understand.
The smile in Savika's eyes suddenly disappeared, and the hint of teasing just now instantly froze into ice.
"Take her back." He released her hand and turned to the soldier, his voice piercingly cold. "Tonight I want her to see with her own eyes how the disobedient captives are skinned."
Su Lixia was taken back to the wooden house. Taking advantage of the guard change, she grabbed the sleeve of a young soldier and quickly took off the delicate bracelet from her wrist. It was the only valuable thing she had left.
"Contraceptive pill..." She begged in a low voice in English, her fingers trembling as she gestured to the shape of a contraceptive pill and stuffed the bracelet into the other person's palm, "Please..."
The soldier pinched the cold chain, hesitated for a moment, and finally clenched the bracelet, nodded hurriedly and left, his steps a little flustered.
But just as she curled up in the corner and her heartbeat had calmed down for less than half an hour, the door of the wooden house was kicked open.
Savika strode in, clutching a tablet in his hand, his knuckles white. His eyes were menacing, and a creepy smile played on his lips.
"You want this?" He slowly unwrapped the foil, and the pills fell to the ground one by one, crushed into powder by his combat boots. "Did you ask me?"
Su Lixia trembled all over and instinctively shrank back, but he grabbed her neck and pressed her against the wall. His breath sprayed on her face, carrying the smell of blood and gunpowder.
"Don't try to play tricks." His voice was as gentle as a lover's whisper, but the strength in his hands almost suffocated her. "You can't escape."
A scream came from outside the door. It was the soldier who had helped her buy medicine. Without turning back, Savika ordered, "Hang him in the middle of the camp. Let everyone see what happens to those who betray me."
He released her neck and began to caress her flat belly. The emerald ring felt cold against her skin, causing a shudder.
"You must give birth to my seed, whether you want to or not."
After saying that, he stood up and called the guards. His voice was as cold as ice: "Take her to the torture chamber and let her reflect on herself."
At dusk, Su Lixia was locked in the torture chamber. She frantically searched for a sharp weapon to cut the ropes, but was trembling with fear at the torture instruments covering the wall.
A whip with barbs, knuckles embedded with fine steel needles, iron chains wrapped with sharp nails... and even a curved knife specially used for skinning... It turned out that these were the things he used to torture people on a daily basis.
Outside the window, the heavy footsteps of soldiers echoed, mingled with the heartbreaking screams of captives. She covered her ears and crouched down, tears silently falling to the floor. She had only come to Burma to attend a high school classmate's wedding, yet how could she be drugged, trafficked, and finally... dragged into bed by that mad young officer? Fate had played such a cruel trick.
"What are you looking for?" The door was suddenly pushed open and Savika walked in, with a fresh smell of blood on her body.
Su Lixia raised her tearful eyes, her voice trembling: "...What do you want?"
Savika walked over to her and knelt on one knee, the emerald ring brushing her cheek. "I want you to remember—" his voice was low and dangerous, "you are mine."
Savika stood up suddenly, grabbed her arm and walked out. The distance from the interrogation room to his room was only a few dozen steps, but it felt like a long journey. Su Lixia stumbled after him, her wrist pinched so hard that it hurt.
He threw her onto the bed and turned to lean against the table, his fingertips stroking the Dharma knife, his eyes fixed on her.
The screams from outside continued to drift in intermittently, colliding with the silence inside. Until late at night, the screams in the camp finally subsided.
Su Lixia was pressed on the bed by Savika, his breath sprayed on her neck, with a faint smell of tobacco mixed with the lingering smell of blood.
"Don't even think about running away." He lowered his head and bit her earlobe. The force of his teeth carried a warning, and his breath was as hot as fire. "Tell me, you will give birth to wolf cubs for me."
Su Lixia turned her head away, avoiding his kiss. She caught a glimpse out the window. The Burmese moon was stained blood red, like an eye looking down at the purgatory on earth, cold and cruel.
His hand suddenly pressed down on her waist, the force so strong that it seemed to dig into her bones. Amidst a dizzy spell, Su Lixia heard his final whisper: "My seed...can't be stopped by a few pills."
