Chapter 84: Prisoner Bird Flutters Its Wings
When the morning light shone through the cracks in the wooden window, Su Lixia opened her eyes, and the aches all over her body immediately reminded her of what had happened last night.
Savika was not there. At the foot of the bed stood a neatly folded set of new clothes: white cotton underwear, a light blue linen skirt, and a striking white pill on the bedside table.
Contraceptive pills.
Su Lixia picked up the pill and swallowed it without hesitation. Bitterness instantly spread over the tip of her tongue, as if she was swallowing this unbearable experience.
Then she picked up the clothes and put them on with some stiff movements. The light blue linen skirt fit her surprisingly well, even the bra size was exactly right. This realization made her ears burn.
Suddenly, a shrill scream came from outside the window, and she shuddered. It was the sound of Savika interrogating the Naga captives, mixed with his low voice in Burmese, which made people shudder even through the wall.
"Last chance. Where is the naga's lair?" Savika's voice was filled with laughter, but every word was shrouded in ice. "If you don't tell me... your eyes won't be as intact as they are now."
Su Lixia's heart raced, her stomach churning. The 18-year-old boy still had a hint of childishness in his eyes, but the cruelty beneath them was more terrifying than the devils of hell.
No! You absolutely cannot stay!
She was only 20 years old, still in college, she hadn't memorized the anatomical diagrams yet, and the microscope in the lab was still waiting to be adjusted! Her future was clearly meant to be spent in a white coat, saving lives. How could she be trapped in this bloody land, spending her life with a young officer who delighted in torturing others?
Run! You must run!
This thought spread like wildfire throughout his body, causing his breathing to become rapid.
Su Lixia quickly glanced around, her gaze settling on the rear window. An escape route instantly formed in her mind. She stepped onto the floor barefoot and found a pair of leather slippers next to the bed, perfectly sized.
Another inhuman howl echoed from the window, and the guards all looked over there. Taking advantage of this moment of inattention, Su Lixia stepped on the stacked ammunition boxes and climbed out.
A few minutes later, Su Lixia stumbled across the muddy vegetable field, and the red soil of the Myanmar border stained the hem of her brand new skirt.
She heard the sound of a jeep engine in the distance and recognized it as the smuggling convoy traveling back and forth between the China and Myanmar borders, passing through here every Wednesday.
"Please!" She rushed to the car window and blurted out in Chinese, "Take me back to China! I can pay—"
The voice stopped abruptly, and Su Lixia froze, with Savika's figure reflected in the rearview mirror.
He had appeared behind her without her noticing, his dharma knife dripping with blood, his jade ring gleaming faintly in the morning light. He tapped his temples with a bloodstained finger, making a shooting motion. The smugglers' faces suddenly changed, and they sped off at the accelerator.
Savika tilted her head and looked at Su Lixia, like a teacher who caught a student skipping class: "The new skirt suits you very well."
"Let me go home..." Su Lixia's voice was shaking.
"This is your home." Savika suddenly grabbed her wrist and lifted her onto his shoulder, his tone nonchalant and playful. "It seems I didn't work hard enough last night, so you still have the energy to run."
Su Lixia struggled violently on his shoulder: "Why do you——"
"You fucked me three times last night," Savika interrupted her. His voice was filled with a wicked smile and a hint of youthful clarity. "Your body is much more honest than your mouth."
As they passed through the camp, the soldiers ducked their heads, their glances unable to conceal their ambiguous expressions. Su Lixia saw the skinned naga captive hanging from the camp's flagpole, drying in the wind.
Savika kicked the door of the wooden house open, and Su Lixia was thrown onto the bed. He grabbed her waist and turned over to press her under him, biting her neck with his teeth, like a wild beast marking its territory.
"Let me go..." Su Lixia struggled, tears mixing with her pleading, "I'm only 20 years old... and still in college..."
"20 years old? A college student?" Savika pulled open her skirt, revealing the bite mark on her collarbone from last night. "In Myanmar, you can be a bride at 14."
He bit open the button of her bra, his voice muffled: "Do you know what my first lesson was when Mr. Mo picked me up?" The emerald ring dug into the tender flesh of her inner thigh. "How to dig out the enemy's eyeballs with your nails."
Su Lixia trembled all over: "But you...you are only 18..."
"Yes, but I followed Mr. Mo to kill people when I was 12 years old." Savika suddenly laughed, "So, don't bargain with me with age..."
Su Lixia's tears soaked the pillow. Savika's body temperature was frighteningly hot, but the coldness in her eyes was as cold as ice.
"Run once a day." He panted in her ear, "That's the rule."
Afterwards, Savika, unusually for him, did not leave immediately. He leaned against the bed, smoking, his skinny waist still showing the red marks she had scratched.
Su Lixia glanced at the pillow and found a transparent medicine box lying there quietly, with a row of contraceptive pills neatly placed inside.
"Do you know why I'm giving you this?" He exhaled a puff of cigarette. Seeing her pursed lips without answering, he suddenly chuckled, "I'm going to wait until you're willing to bear my child."
