Chapter 85 The Queen's Coronation

Chapter 85 The Queen's Coronation

Laos, Song family military base.

General Song's eyes were bloodshot as he stared at the surveillance image on the big screen.

The once impregnable arsenal was now nothing but a huge charred pit.

Three days ago, Mo Xiaohan's counterattack was like a sharp blade, accurately stabbing into General Song's soft spot.

He sent "Dark River" agents to sneak into the Wa Mountains and secretly plant time bombs in the oil pipeline; on the other hand, modified pickup trucks and drones raided the main gate of the Luang Prabang arsenal, tightly entangling the Song family's defenders; at the same time, he sent another team to take advantage of the chaos to plant thermite in the middle of the pipeline.

In the end, the two bombs exploded in succession, and the aviation kerosene encountered fire, causing a huge explosion. The entire mountain was blown into ruins, and the arsenal and everything inside were destroyed.

"Mo, Xiao, Han!"

He bit the cigar filter hard and blood flowed from the corner of his mouth.

At this moment, the adjutant tremblingly handed over an exquisite gift box, his ferocious face reflected on the metal box: "General... sent by the Mo family..."

Inside the box lay a silver cufflink, engraved with the Mohist family crest. The attached card contained only one line of text:

"Happy funeral. —M"

General Song stared at the cufflink, his chest heaving violently. The empire he had built was crumbling. The wildfire caused by the oil pipeline explosion was still spreading, and three elite battalions were destroyed in the inferno. Even more devastating, the batch of new missiles temporarily stored by the Berg family in the arsenal had all been reduced to ash.

The cufflinks that Mo Xiaohan gave her at this moment were like a silent mockery - it was the king's ultimatum to the defeated, and a declaration from the pinnacle of power.

"Contact Europe..." General Song's voice suddenly rose, with uncontrollable impatience.

He had to explain that he had to stabilize the Berg family first, otherwise the Song family's arms and supply chains in Europe would be completely broken.

However, Victor's response was more decisive than expected.

The busy tone in the communicator lasted for a full minute, and then it was connected to the encrypted line, but a cold automatic reply came through.

"General...Europe has refused to send reinforcements, and the Berg family has cut off all arms supplies." The adjutant reported tremblingly.

General Song suddenly drew his pistol.

"Bang!"

The adjutant's body fell in front of the console, and blood stained the table red.

"Send the order!" General Song roared, "Ruan Xingchen must be killed at all costs! I want to make Mo Xiaohan feel heartbroken!"

Bangkok, the night is deep.

A convoy of several black bulletproof off-road vehicles was moving silently and quickly towards the Mo family manor.

In the black Maybach in the center of the convoy, Mo Xiaohan closed the encrypted information he had just received on his tablet. He turned his head and looked at Ruan Xingchen beside him.

She was staring out the window at the dark shadows of the jungle passing by. The lines of her profile, illuminated by the moonlight, lost their last trace of tenderness, leaving only a cold, diamond-like sharpness. The traces of tears and the collapse of a week ago had been completely crushed and reshaped.

"Are you scared?" he suddenly asked, his voice sounding particularly low in the closed compartment.

Ruan Xingchen didn't look back. His fingertips rubbed the silver ring on his ring finger, and his tone was calm and unperturbed: "What are you afraid of? Are you afraid of death, or are you afraid of killing people?"

Mo Xiaohan raised an almost invisible smile at the corner of his lips, and was about to say something -

"boom!!"

A massive explosion ripped through the silence of the night without warning! A mountain not far ahead of the convoy suddenly exploded, sending rubble and flames soaring into the sky, instantly blocking the road ahead!

"Enemy attack! Reverse!" Mo Xiaohan's reaction was astonishingly fast. He gave a stern order into the communicator, while one hand protected Ruan Xingchen's head and pressed it down.

Almost at the same moment, bullets poured out from the dense woods on both sides like a torrential rain. The clanging sounds instantly became dense, and white spider-web cracks exploded on the bulletproof car windows.

The convoy was forced to stop suddenly.

The doors of the escort vehicle slammed open, and the well-trained Mohist guards used the vehicle body as cover and fired back at the jungles on both sides with full firepower.

The sounds of gunfire, explosions, and breaking trees instantly turned the quiet night into a murderous hell.

"Someone from the Song family." Mo Xiaohan's voice was terrifyingly calm. While quickly assessing the situation outside the window, he pulled out two submachine guns from under the car seat and stuffed one into Ruan Xingchen's hand. "The target is you."

His eyes fell on her face like a tempered blade: "The choice is yours. Hide, or..."

"No or." Ruan Xingchen interrupted him. Without any hesitation, she checked the gun and loaded it. The touch of the cold metal made her fingertips tremble slightly, but her eyes were unusually steady.

She flung open the car door, and the hot shell almost grazed her cheek. Mo Xiaohan followed closely behind, and the two of them used the car body as cover.

"Three fire points at nine o'clock on the left!" Mo Xiaohan fired accurately while giving orders, his voice piercing through the deafening gunfire, "Suppress the right wing! A Tai, lead your men to flank and eliminate that rocket launcher!"

Ruan Xingchen clung to him, breathing rapidly but not panicking. She imitated him, raised her gun, and fired. A dark figure trying to swerve from the side fell to the ground.

The recoil from the gunshot numbed her shoulders and arms, but her grip on the gun didn't loosen at all. In that moment, her faith in saving the dying and the wounded, her vows as an angel in white, were completely shattered and evaporated by the cruel reality of life and death before her.

All that remained in her heart was the most primitive and coldest survival instinct, as well as the cruelty forced out by Victor and fate.

Another killer approached with the cover of night and trees, pointing his gun at Mo Xiaohan who was changing the magazine.

Ruan Xingchen didn't even think twice and immediately turned his gun around.

"Bang!"

The bullet hit the man's forehead accurately, and blood exploded in the darkness.

Mo Xiaohan changed the magazine and glanced sideways at her. His eyes were complex and difficult to discern, a mixture of scrutiny and surprise that eventually settled into an almost blazing admiration. He said nothing, simply bumping her with his shoulder, signaling the next target.

Ruan Xingchen pursed his lips, and the last trace of hesitation in his eyes completely faded away, replaced by a stern, even bloodthirsty calmness.

She was no longer a protected person, but became a part of this dark battlefield, an ally who could fight back-to-back with Mo Xiaohan, or in other words... a fellow human being.

She actively moved her position, looking for the best shooting angle, and her movements were full of deadly threats.

Shoot, dodge, and shoot again.

The hem of her skirt was torn by the bushes, and her cheeks were stained with gunpowder and splattered blood, but her posture became more and more arrogant and calm.

That was no longer a forced courage, but a sharpness and decisiveness that came from the bones and belonged to the Queen of Darkness.

During the fierce battle, a grenade rolled down next to the wheel of their bunker.

"Be careful!" Mo Xiaohan growled.

In a flash, Ruan Xingchen reacted faster than the guards who were closer to her. She suddenly raised her foot and kicked the grenade accurately with her heel into the jungle downhill!

“Boom!”

The blast lifted her long hair and skirt, and she staggered, but Mo Xiaohan held her waist firmly to help her stand steady.

Amidst the thick smoke, she raised her head and looked at him, her eyes reflecting the fire and slaughter, but surprisingly bright.

Mo Xiaohan stared at her and suddenly chuckled, with a hint of bloody admiration: "My queen."

The battle is gradually coming to an end.

Under Mo Xiaohan's precise command and the guards' fearless counterattack, coupled with Ruan Xingchen's unexpected combat power, the attackers were eliminated one by one.

The gunfire gradually died down, leaving only the crackling of burning vehicles and the groans of the wounded.

Ruan Xingchen stood in the night air, thick with smoke and the smell of blood, the barrel of the gun still slightly hot in her hand. She looked at the tragic scene before her, exhaled slowly, and lowered her hand holding the gun, but remained standing straight.

Mo Xiaohan walked to her side, took off his blood-stained suit jacket, draped it over her shoulders, and squeezed her cold arm hard with his palm.

She no longer showed the fear she had before. She just raised her head and looked in the direction of the manor, and said in a calm voice: "Xiaohan, go home."

At that moment, the aura emanating from her body had completely merged with the darkness, leaving no more barriers.
