Chapter 90: Banquet Reunion

Chapter 90: Banquet Reunion

In Bangkok's most luxurious banquet hall, crystal chandeliers refract champagne glasses into a galaxy of broken diamonds.

Su Lixia stood awkwardly behind Savika, her fingers nervously twisting the hem of her skirt. She was wearing the moonlight white dress Savika had prepared for her, the neckline barely covering the kiss mark on her collarbone.

She shouldn't have appeared in such an occasion. She was just "forced" to come by Savika, saying that she was going to meet an "important person".

"Don't look around." Savika pinched the back of her neck, saying soothingly, "The people coming tonight are all important people. Just follow me."

Su Lixia pursed her lips and was about to speak when the heavy door of the banquet hall slowly opened without warning. Mo Xiaohan walked in with a woman in his arms, and the whole place fell silent in an instant.

The man wore a perfectly tailored black suit, accentuating his tall and handsome figure. The shallow scar on his left eyelid, far from diminishing his grace, only added a touch of dangerous, deadly allure. His eyes were as cold as ice, yet under the light, they reflected a deep, alluring allure. The inherent sense of oppression inherent in a superior spread silently, making even the air around him seem heavy.

When Su Lixia's eyes swept over the woman in his arms, her breath was instantly choked -

That turned out to be her senior schoolmate, Ruan Xingchen, who had been missing for almost a year!

Ruan Xingchen was wearing a dark red dress, her long hair falling like an ink waterfall, her red lips as red as blood. She leaned lazily in Mo Xiaohan's arms, her posture was so intimate that it was dazzling.

Her features were still as delicate and picturesque as in my memory, but the clarity in her eyes had long been washed away, leaving only a bottomless darkness, like a cold pond covered in fog.

Su Lixia's fingertips trembled uncontrollably, her eyes instantly turned red, and memories came flooding back like a tide without warning.

In the anatomy room of the medical school, Su Lixia tightly grasped the sleeve of Ruan Xingchen's white coat, her face covered with tears.

"Senior... I, I'm scared..."

Ruan Xingchen chuckled and reached out to wipe away her tears. "It's always like this the first time." She pointed to the specimen on the dissection table. "Look, this is just muscle tissue, no different from the beef we usually eat."

Su Lixia burst into laughter and scolded with a tearful voice: "Senior sister, why are you comparing it to beef?"

Ruan Xingchen pinched her blushing cheeks, with a gentle light in his eyes: "Because this way you won't be afraid anymore."

Later, when Su Lixia had no classes, she always liked to stick with this gentle senior. She liked to look at her profile as she focused in the laboratory, and she liked the warmth of her fingertips when she held an umbrella for her on rainy days.

Later, the senior student suddenly disappeared. The school posted a notice saying that she had been lured to Bangkok. The police searched for her for a long time but found nothing, and in the end, they had to let the case go.

Su Lixia hid in the dormitory and cried all night. She never thought that they would meet again in such an occasion and in such a way.

Mo Xiaohan hugged Ruan Xingchen and walked towards the main seat step by step. The people around him lowered their heads and saluted respectfully. Only Su Lixia stood frozen in place, looking at Ruan Xingchen in disbelief.

"Xingchen...Senior..." she murmured, her voice very soft, but very clear in the silence.

Savika grabbed her wrist and shouted in a low voice, "Shut up!"

But it was too late.

Ruan Xingchen's gaze swept over casually, and the moment it touched Su Lixia's face, his pupils shrank slightly.

Mo Xiaohan noticed something strange about the person in his arms. He followed her gaze and fell on Su Lixia. His brows furrowed slightly, and he turned to Savika and said in a deep voice, "Your people?"

Savika's face turned pale, and she immediately knelt on one knee, lowering her head. "It was my negligence, she just—"

"Xia Xia." Ruan Xingchen suddenly spoke, a faint smile on her lips. She let go of Mo Xiaohan's arm and slowly walked towards Su Lixia. The crisp sound of her high heels tapping on the marble floor was like stepping on Su Lixia's heart.

Su Lixia stared blankly at Ruan Xingchen approaching, until the hand that had wiped her tears gently touched her cheek: "Long time no see."

The familiar voice was as gentle as before, yet terrifyingly strange.

"Senior...you..." Su Lixia's tears burst out instantly.

"You're still so crybaby." Ruan Xingchen smiled slightly, his fingertips sliding from her cheek to her neck, and finally gently pinching her chin: "It seems that Savika didn't take good care of you."

Her eyes swept across the vaguely visible red mark on Su Lixia's collar, and then glanced at Savika beside her. Her voice was still gentle, but with a sense of oppression, which made Savika sweat instantly break out on her back: "Be gentler next time, okay?"

Savika lowered her head even lower, her voice tense: "Yes, ma'am."

The lights in the ballroom dimmed and the band began to play a soothing melody.

Su Lixia's eyes unconsciously fell on Ruan Xingchen's hand - on her left ring finger, she still wore the silver ring with "Eternal Day" engraved on it. And on Mo Xiaohan's left ring finger, there was the same ring with "Starlight" engraved on it. The two looked at each other like some kind of tacit prophecy.

She suddenly remembered that she had curiously asked Ruan Xingchen at that time: "Senior sister, who gave you this ring? There are so many people pursuing you, why did you reject them all?"

Ruan Xingchen was stroking the ring at the time, his eyes a little dazed: "I don't remember who gave it to me...but it must be someone very important."

Now, Su Lixia finally knew that the "very important person" was the Southeast Asian tyrant, Mo Xiaohan.

The night breeze on the terrace was cool, and Ruan Xingchen reached out to tidy up Su Lixia's messy hair.

"Senior..." Su Lixia choked up, wanting to ask a thousand words, but in the end, she only said one sentence, "How are you doing?"

"Of course." Ruan Xingchen chuckled and deliberately raised his hand to shake the ring on his ring finger: "He is the most important person to me, remember?"

Su Lixia nodded blankly, but her eyes became even redder.

Ruan Xingchen gently smoothed the wrinkles on her collar, his fingertips pausing lightly on the red mark on her collarbone before moving away. "Although Savika's methods are a bit cruel, at least..." His red lips touched Su Lixia's ear, carrying a faint fragrance, "He can protect you."

Su Lixia followed her gaze and saw Savika standing not far away, his eyes fixed on her like a wolf staring at its prey.

"Savika." Ruan Xingchen waved to the man, "Come here."

Savika stepped closer, the emerald ring on her finger reflecting the moonlight, casting a faint glow. Ruan Xingchen took Su Lixia's hand and gently placed it in Savika's palm: "Be good to her."

Savika immediately clasped Su Lixia's fingers tightly, and her calloused fingertips rolled across her palm, saying in a deep voice, "I will."

"Senior!" Su Lixia widened her eyes, curled up her fingertips and tried to pull them back, but Savika held them tighter.

Ruan Xingchen smiled and ruffled her hair, just like when they were in medical school: "This is my home, Xia Xia."

She looked at Mo Xiaohan who was surrounded by dignitaries in the banquet hall, her eyes soft, "And your destination..." Her gaze fell meaningfully on Savika.

The night wind blew by, taking away Su Lixia's last tears.

The glass door to the terrace entrance was pushed open, and Mo Xiaohan walked over. Just now, he still carried the stern aura of a superior among the crowd, but as soon as he stood in front of Ruan Xingchen, the coldness around him melted away. He raised his hand and gently brushed the hair off her shoulders, his fingertips carrying a rare softness.

Su Lixia opened her eyes wide, and before she could react, Savika half-carried and half-dragged her away from the terrace.

The moonlight flowed over the railing. She looked back and saw Ruan Xingchen leaning lazily in Mo Xiaohan's arms, their silver rings shining in the night.

On the terrace, Ruan Xingchen leaned in Mo Xiaohan's arms, watching Savika press Su Lixia into the shadow of the column and kiss her. The young officer's hand was still on the Dama sword, but the force with which he touched the girl was so light that it seemed as if he was brushing away the moonlight.

Ruan Xingchen sighed softly.

"What's wrong?" Mo Xiaohan pinched her fingers, his tone full of unique indulgence.

She shook her head. "I just think fate is incredible..." Her fingertips gently stroked the scar on his left eyelid. "If I hadn't been tricked into coming to Bangkok, would we have never had the chance to meet again..."

Mo Xiaohan's eyes darkened, and he grabbed her waist and pressed her against the railing: "There are no ifs."

His kiss fell with a strong possessiveness.
