Chapter 91 The Gentle Abyss
——Dependence is the beginning of sinking, and she is no longer able to break free.
On the helicopter back to northern Myanmar, Su Lixia curled up in her seat, tears silently falling. She was still wearing the moon-white dress she had worn to the cocktail party, but the ribbon at the neckline had come loose, revealing the ambiguous red mark on her collarbone.
Savika sat across from her, her long legs crossed, her eyes fixed on her with a strong, possessive air.
"I want to go home..." Her voice trembled and her fingers clenched the hem of her skirt.
Savika stared at her for a few seconds, then suddenly stood up, knelt on one knee in front of her, and wiped the tear marks on her face with her rough fingertips.
"Aren't you going home now?" His voice was lower than usual, with a hint of deliberately gentle patience. "From the moment I brought you back, you were mine."
"Wherever I am, there you are."
She raised her head and met his deep eyes, which lacked his usual brutality and instead contained an almost obstinate focus.
Su Lixia bit her lip, but her tears fell even harder.
She didn't understand why the senior Xingchen who would gently wipe her tears in her memory would become so distant and indifferent at the banquet;
She didn't understand why she had only come to Myanmar to attend a wedding, and yet she had been drawn into this vortex of fate.
She didn't understand. The senior was clearly the only person who could possibly save her in this desperate situation, yet she had never actually thought of asking her for help.
She didn't understand how much truth and falsehood were hidden in the complex emotions in Savika's eyes...
It was as if she had never realized that her dependence on this predicament was quietly eroding her original desire to break free.
…
The nights in the military camps in northern Myanmar are still darker and colder than anywhere else.
Su Lixia lay by the window, quietly watching Savika standing at the door of the interrogation room. Three Naga captives who tried to provoke him at the border were kneeling in front of him. Two fingers of one of them had been chopped off and thrown on the sand covered in blood.
The cuffs of his military shirt were rolled up to his elbows, and his exposed forearms were stained with blood, like a bloody oil painting. The tip of the dharma knife lifted the captive's chin and said something with a smile.
The next second, a flash of knife passed by——
"puff!"
Blood splattered on his face and dripped down his jaw. He wiped it away and turned his head carelessly, just in time to meet her horrified eyes.
He curled the corners of his lips and mouthed to her: "Don't look."
Su Lixia slammed the window shut, her back pressed against the wall, her heart beating so fast it almost burst through her chest.
He is a demon, she should be afraid!
But why...when he smiled at her, her heart beat so fast?
Heart-wrenching screams could be faintly heard outside the window, making her whole body tense up. She should be terrified!
But I don't know since when this sound has become a lullaby.
Late at night, when Savika pushed open the door of the wooden house, he had a faint smell of blood on his body. He had just taken a shower and water was still dripping from the ends of his hair.
He walked to the window and picked up Su Lixia. She struggled subconsciously, but he held her in his arms.
"I'm not touching you tonight," he whispered, combing his fingers through her hair, "Just sleeping."
Su Lixia's tense body relaxed slightly, but when Savika really just hugged her and lay down, she inexplicably felt... lost...
This thought terrified her.
Savika seemed to sense her emotions and suddenly turned over and pressed her down, her eyes shining like a wolf in the moonlight.
"Want it?" His voice was low and hoarse, and his fingertips gently touched her collarbone.
"I didn't!" Su Lixia's face flushed instantly and she retorted hurriedly.
Savika chuckled, his warm breath touching her neck. He bit her earlobe and said firmly, "You're lying."
This time, his movements were very gentle, and there was even a bit of flattering patience in the entanglement of his lips and tongue.
“…Let go…” Su Lixia’s voice was very weak, but her fingers subconsciously grabbed his shoulders.
"Good girl." His kiss landed on her collarbone, with a burning warmth. "I won't hurt you tonight."
Savika's movements were slow, as if he was gradually tearing down her defenses. Su Lixia wanted to resist, but her body betrayed her will and gradually softened under his touch. When his lips pressed against her most sensitive spot, she finally gave in and gasped for air.
“…Savika…”
Afterwards, Savika leaned against the bed and smoked. The smoke blurred his handsome features, but just happened to outline the sharp curve of his jawline. Su Lixia had her back to him and couldn't help but steal a glance at him.
The stern profile was immersed in the moonlight, every inch of the lines was just right, the sweat beads on the Adam's apple slowly slid down and sank into the depression of the collarbone.
"What are you looking at?"
He suddenly turned his head and caught her gaze accurately.
Su Lixia hurriedly closed her eyes, her heart beating as if it was about to explode, but she heard him chuckle softly and reach out to pull her into his arms.
His heartbeat could be heard through his warm chest, steady and strong, which made people feel inexplicably at ease.
Su Lixia was stunned, with tears still hanging on her eyelashes.
She should hate him, hate his confinement, hate his plunder, hate him for dragging her into this quagmire.
But why... at this moment am I craving the warmth of this embrace?
The sweet poison of Stockholm was gradually paralyzing her will, causing her to sink deeper and deeper. The most terrifying thing was no longer falling, but gradually falling in love with the feeling of being suspended in mid-air.
"Go to sleep." He put out his cigarette, rested his chin on the top of her head, and said in a lazy and hoarse voice, "I'll take you to the market tomorrow."
Outside the window, Myanmar's moon hung in the inky sky, still stained with a strange blood color.
