Chapter 228 Take Her Away

Chapter 228 Take her away

After that phone call, Jiang Wang completely lost contact with Si Yuan.

Fortunately, Fang Yan learned from a friend that Song Yan had bought three plane tickets to Los Angeles.

Upon hearing this, Jiang Wang immediately tensed up and ordered, "Keep a close watch on all the airports. We absolutely cannot let him take Si Yuan away!"

Even now, Si Yuan hasn't said a single word.

Even if Song Yan said that Si Yuan left it behind herself.

But Jiang Wang still didn't believe it.

I don't want to believe it like that.

Even if Si Yuan wants to leave, he should be told in person, instead of just leaving like this.

No sooner had Fang Yan left than Jiang Wang's phone rang again.

Jiang Wang initially wanted to hang up, but he was afraid it might be about Si Yuan, so he hesitated for a moment and then answered.

There was a moment of silence on the other end of the phone, followed by Ji Song's nonchalant laughter.

Jiang Wang immediately recognized the voice as that annoying guy's.

Ji Song sighed, "You were on guard against me, but you couldn't guard against him. You're pretty useless too."

Jiang Wang's temple throbbed, and his tone was icy: "If you're going to spout nonsense, I don't have time to listen."

"I have arrived in the capital."

Ji Song chuckled twice, his tone carrying a hint of lighthearted amusement: "Your little tricks won't work on Song Yan."

Jiang Wang lowered his eyes slightly, understanding Jiang Wang's implication.

He knew Ji Song's methods all too well; they were all underhanded tricks that couldn't be openly discussed, but could still choke someone.

Song Yan protected Si Yuan and hid her well, making the open search like looking for a needle in a haystack.

But Ji Song is different. He can find those hidden corners and nooks that can't be seen in the light of day, and he can also find those traces that Song Yan deliberately erased.

“Conditions.” Jiang Wang’s voice was low and emotionless.

Ji Song paused on the other end of the phone, his tone unusually serious, no longer flippant: "I want to say sorry to Si Yuan."

Before Jiang Wang could speak, Ji Song interrupted him again, his voice carrying a hint of seriousness that was barely perceptible: "I'm sorry for what happened last time."

After that incident, Ji Song felt as if he had been jolted awake.

He felt he should apologize to Si Yuan for his recklessness.

Jiang Wang was silent for a few seconds before saying in a deep voice, "Alright. If you find her, I can give you this opportunity."

But after a pause, he added, "But I have another request: give me Lin Shuangyu."

Ji Song chuckled softly, his tone knowing, and readily agreed, "Okay."

Anyway, it's nothing valuable.

After those two simple words, a very soft "thank you" came from the other end of the phone.

Then, with a "click," the call was disconnected.

Jiang Wang gripped his phone, his fingertips turning white.

The sky outside the window was still dark. He got up and walked to the French windows, looking at the scattered lights in the distance, his eyes filled with melancholy.

Finding Si Yuan and rescuing her is his only thought right now.

——

The morning light filtered through the gaps in the heavy curtains of the villa, casting a few faint rays of light.

Si Yuan was awakened by the soft sound of the door being pushed open.

She barely slept a wink last night, her nerves were constantly on edge, and she would wake up at the slightest sound.

She suddenly opened her eyes, instinctively becoming alert. She only relaxed slightly when she saw that the person who came in was Song Yan, but she still dared not make any move.

Song Yan walked in from outside carrying a tray with a warm breakfast on it.

He walked to the bedside, gently placed the tray on the bedside table, and spoke in his usual gentle tone, as if the stubborn and fierce person from last night was not him.

"Awake?" He leaned down to look at her and gently tidied her hair. "I had the kitchen make the porridge you used to like. Eat it while it's hot."

Si Yuan lowered her head, avoiding his touch, her voice still a little hoarse: "...Okay."

Song Yan seemed unconcerned by her aloofness and continued to smile.

Si Yuan let him help her sit up, and he thoughtfully placed a soft pillow behind her back.

Her gaze fell on the breakfast on the tray, but she had no appetite at all, only a tightness in her stomach.

The fear from last night still lingered in her mind, and facing Song Yan's gentle and considerate demeanor, she felt increasingly suffocated.

Song Yan picked up a spoon, scooped up a spoonful of warm porridge, and held it to her lips, his eyes gentle: "Open your mouth."

Si Yuan hesitated for a moment, but finally obediently opened her mouth.

The warm porridge slid into my stomach, but it brought no warmth whatsoever; only a chill that seeped into my bones, spreading little by little.

Song Yan said, "After we finish eating, we'll head to the airport."

Si Yuan tensed up, her fingertips trembling as she gripped the blanket.

Song Yan continued, his tone still gentle: "Xiao Zhou wanted to see you yesterday, and I comforted him, saying that you could meet once you were on the plane."

Si Yuan could no longer tell whether Song Yan's words were meant to comfort or threaten her, but it didn't matter anymore, since it made no difference anyway. She closed her eyes wearily.

When the feeling of powerlessness accumulates to a certain extent, all that remains is overwhelming despair.

What could she do? The die was cast.

The porridge was still in my mouth, warm, but it felt like I was holding a piece of ice, chilling me from the tip of my tongue to my heart, bitter and astringent.

Song Yan seemed quite pleased with her obedient appearance and scooped up another spoonful, handing it to her.

Si Yuan swallowed a mouthful as if resigned to his fate.

The morning light outside the window gradually brightened, casting dappled shadows on the floor through the gaps in the curtains.

The light was bright, but it couldn't penetrate Si Yuan's heart, which was sinking to the bottom of the valley.

She suddenly thought of Jiang Wang, and the anxiety and panic in his voice when he last called her.

Will he find her?

——

A car was parked in front of the villa, and the driver and bodyguards were already prepared.

Song Yan protected Si Yuan, moving step by step towards the car door.

After being locked up for three days, the morning air was still chilly on Si Yuan's face. Before she could even adjust to the outside air, she was put on a hat and mask and pushed into a car.

Sensing something was wrong, Si Yuan looked around, her heart sinking, and suddenly asked, "Where's Xiao Zhou?"

She looked up, took off her sunglasses, and stared at Song Yan with suspicion in her eyes.

Song Yan chuckled softly, smoothing her collar which had been ruffled by the wind, his tone still that chillingly gentle: "Trust me, okay?"

Si Yuan stared at him intently, her eyes as still as stagnant water, and said each word with resounding force: "If Xiao Zhou is in trouble, I will take you down with me."

These words were spoken without the slightest ripple, yet they carried a resolute determination to destroy everything.

Song Yan's smile deepened, and he casually patted her head: "How could that be? Does Xiao Yuan really not trust her brother? Xiao Zhou is also a child I've watched grow up, how could I do anything?"

He bent down and opened the car door for her.

Song Yan coldly told the driver, "Drive."

In the distance, a black sedan was parked silently under the shade of a tree.

The man in the back seat put down his binoculars, tapped his phone screen twice, and dialed a number.

When the call was answered, he lowered his voice and said, "Mr. Ji, the person has been found."
