They were getting ready to leave the kingdom. The Princess had already been informed that they would be leaving Erandell to visit another place, and it was time to take off. When Raziah looked around and saw there were no carriages around, she just knew they won’t be leaving the Normal way. Acacia had told her that there was one more person apart from the two of them, and so far, she’s only been seeing her husband following them everywhere which now has her confused.
Was he the last escort?!
But Raziah wasn’t in the mood to care for anyone. She could stand there looking as uncaring as anything for as long as she wanted till they were ready to leave. She didn’t tell anyone she was leaving because she didn’t see the need to. Fabia might start insisting on following her again, and then Caius would have to come along too. Recently, She finds herself acting so calm in every situation.
It’s like her cold heart had been reinforced again, and it was constantly being repeated inside her head over and over again why she was who she is. The reminder that would always ring at the back of her mind, and whisper her those grave memories, bringing back some terrible images with it as to why she should never stray from her path.
Acacia had just come to stand beside her to say something when suddenly, the main door was thrown open the Prince Zoan strode out, his brows creased in anger while dragging Etta with him. Aragon whipped around to face him, and there was this calmness that overtook his eyes as if he had been expecting his brother’s arrival.
Aletta was desperately trying to keep the prince from reaching his brother, but it just looked as if a pebble had been thrown in front of a moving mountain in order to hold it back. His presence was even raging much, and you could see the reeking anger, the throttling eyes and vibrating aura that surrounded him. Raziah almost didn’t look at them, but finally glanced at them because of the sudden yell that came from Aletta’s lips.
"Zoan!!" Aletta screamed in front of him, and was finally able to make him look at her. She looked more panicked that anyone around, and quickly grabbed Zoan’s face instantly so he would keep his eyes on her, "It hurts..." Her face squeezed, and she bit her lips with a twisted look in her face.
That must have taken Zoan by surprise because he blinked, and asked with a little stutter, "W...what?"
He wanted to look back at his brother, but Aletta made another whimpering sound again and suddenly fell to the ground, with her eyes closed. Raziah knew she was now a cold rock that had been fortified over and over again, but she confirmed just how heartless she had become over the past few days when she didn’t even make a move to see what was wrong with Aletta.
Zoan quickly picked her up, shaking her a little. He looked a little confused, but then another Rush of anger filled his eyes as he looked at his brother again like he was about to begin breathing fire on him. Aragon tipped his chin up slightly with a certain flicker in his eyes, and everywhere was quiet all of a sudden.
The surrounding air was spiking up warmly, and Acacia could tell that they were now having a conversation with just their eyes as all Vampires can do. Zoan was getting angrier as time ticked by, while Aragon’s level of being didn’t change.
"We have to go now," Acacia whispered to Raziah, and Raziah only nodded at her. Like before, the woman uttered a spell under her breath hasteningly, and in the blink of an eye Raziah found herself standing somewhere else completely. She hadn’t been told their destination, so it came as the first shock in three days, when she found herself standing somewhere... Sort of familiar.
She didn’t show the sign of confusion in her expression though, and just stood there staring for about five minutes till it fully fit her. She had seen the view of the castle on a rainy dawn while she was barely hanging to the back of a horse ten years ago with Malcolm trying to hold her up and guiding the horse at the same time.
She was back to her second home.
The kingdom of Naria.
Questions were now swirling in her mind, but she didn’t dare ask any because she in no way wanted to have any conversation with the woman beside her.
"His Majesty said we would be visiting your parents and people for about about a day or so before we head to our main destination. I guess it was meant to be a surprise," Acacia smiled, taking a glimpse of the Princess’s dull look and uncaring eyes, "But it seems you weren’t caught off guard," she mumbled in addition.
Without waiting for another word from the sorceress, Raziah began walking forward toward the palace main gate. They were just a little walk away from the main town behind them, and she knew how nice it would feel to go down there and mingle with actual humans...not that she was gonna initiate any conversation or anything.
But she had a good reason for walking toward the palace first. If this was a surprise visit, then there was a high chance that her husband didn’t inform anyone in Naria about his arrival and she needed to inform them that he was coming so they would get ready and wouldn’t say something out of line.
She had just casually glanced back to see what Acacia was doing when Raziah paused completely again. She almost reached up to clean her eyes Several times just to make sure that they weren’t deceiving her regarding to what the sorceress was doing. She wasn’t too far away from Raziah, and had crouched down and talking to a little boy who looked like he was lost.
Acacia was smiling cheekily at him, and he was already laughing at the words she was telling him. He pulled out something from her short skirt which looked like candy, handed it to him and pointed the direction of the town square which lead to the small villages in the kingdom. Raziah comprehended the actions, but she wanted to believe her eyes were deceiving her.
The little boy had to be human, and she wasn’t.
So why was she being so nice to him?! That was the question that kept running through her mind as she watched the Sorceress stand up to escort him down the way. If the woman’s intentions weren’t pure, the already natural discomfort she felt around her would have doubled up but instead...it seemed to be calming down.
It looked so surreal that Raziah had to brace herself for the waves of reality to hit her once again. Shaking her head in what seem to be an attempt to get her head and mind straight again, she turned around and quickly walked into the palace. Naria was somewhere not many people knew her even though she’s spend ten years of her life, and she had to call Malcolm’s name repeatedly to the guards, and her own identity before they were somehow able to recognize and let her walk in.
Even the maids were finding it hard to know who she was, but Raziah wasn’t interested in what they had to say about her. Even as she walked inside the palace, it felt as if it was her first time with the way she kept looking around, and hoping not to get lost. Her husband hadn’t arrived, and Acacia would also find her way into the palace soon so Raziah has to get everything done as fast as she can.
"Princess Raziah?!" An old gruff familiar feminine voice called from behind her, and Raziah quickly whirled around to see Ms Ophelia standing there, whom happened to be the head maid in the palace...and her guardian too while she was here.
Ms Ophelia was holding a few ingredients to take to the royal kitchen, and almost dropped them all when she saw Raziah there, wondering when she got here.
"Ms Ophelia," Raziah walked toward her sharply, but paused again when she saw the retreating look in the woman’s eyes like she was about to take off and run away from her. Ms Ophelia looked scared of her, incredibly scared like Raziah was gonna attack her or something.
"Princess?" Ophelia called out again softly, as if to confirm exactly who she was staring at.
"Pardon my sudden visit," Raziah gently bowed at the older woman, but she knew she had no time to waste, "But I really need to see the King urgently. I need to get some things straight with him about the people who would soon arrive or else things might go south."
And just like that, the older woman burst into a hot pool of tears.
