It took a while before he finally got a grasp of himself again. Aragon’s legs shook helplessly then he fell on his knees like someone devoid of any strength. And soon enough his arms wrapped around her back as he softly returned the kiss, holding onto her like she was his sanity. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
Raziah didn’t even realize she was crying till they pulled back and she noticed her face was wet. He opened his eyes, and they were back to their normal devious shade of black, though his breathing was still hard.
She had her forehead against his, her hands entangled inside his thick hair. He was back in control again, he was back to the Aragon she knew well again, and she squeezed her eyes shut in pain. The images she saw had been very blurry, but she had made out a boy with blue eyes going through something horrible and hideous.
The whole time there was a heart-wrenching whimper, like a small yelp for help leaving his mouth till she couldn’t hear it anymore. Someone seemed to be enjoying the show and was laughing somewhere in the background, and Raziah’s chest burned with a kind of anger that cannot be quenched.
She suddenly wanted to rip out the person’s throat and burn the whole place to the ground. She couldn’t even imagine what he had gone through, and why it had happened to him. A part of her wished the images hadn’t been blurry so she would have made out everyone’s faces and come to a certain reasoning, while the other part of her was glad she didn’t see a clear image, or else Aragon might not have been the only one spiraling out of control right now.
But still, she was almost consumed with an indescribable amount of rage. They were holding onto each other to keep sane till their breaths had calmed down completely. Raziah never thought she could feel these intense emotions for a non-human as she’s always taken them as heartless creatures, and yet again here she was.
"I’ll break the rule again," She said to him when their breathing had evened and grown quiet, "What happened to you?" She asked, eyes hard as hell. She made sure he comprehended that there was no room for him to try and escape this question, "I saw images. I know you were there!" She looked straight into his eyes.
He didn’t say a word.
"Did you tell anyone about this? What were they doing to you? What happened to the person behind it?" She asked again, only to he replied with silence.
Swallowing her questions with a tremendous amount of patience, she hugged him back and just let him lay his head on her shoulder. At least he wasn’t trying to throw her out again, and they had a few more hours...left together.
Everywhere was quiet, and with time the room didn’t seem as dark as it used to be again. Raziah still found it hard to accept what was staring at her right in the face, a strong feeling that now flowed inside her, glued to her soul like there was no way of getting rid of it. She found peace with him right now, but as soon as she goes back out there and reality slaps her hard, she would begin to hate him again.
She would loathe them all again.
Raziah never knew how much she had missed the feeling of complete tranquility till the moment she had hugged him. Her problems seem to vanish into thin air, and the only sound she could hear, loud and strong was his fast heartbeat and his steady breaths that tickled her ear. She dearly missed those times when her mind wasn’t rotten and cruel as it felt now.
Her days as a child were the best. If only...that night never happened.
"Are you okay?" He whispered.
She nodded, "I should be the one asking you that,"
His palm pressed gently against her back, "I’ve never heard you talk so much. I think you’ve spoken words worth two months from your mouth on a normal day this night,"
A small smile touched her face, "I didn’t know you could be so stubborn,"
"And yet, there’s no one as stubborn as you...Hazel,"
Calling her that name warmed up her heart in so many ways, "I can’t argue with you on that."
After a few minutes, He pulled her even tighter against him like he wanted to merge their bodies together. Gently, she rubbed his back in an attempt to soothe him when she felt a wave of unease crash into him. She held her breath when he finally said it, "He was the first man I ever killed. He wanted to know the extent of what I could do by doing all that to me, and the results were me tearing him limb by limb with absolutely no remorse, going as slow as I could till I had buried my fist so deep into his skull and finally tore it off. I... didn’t know what I was, and I still have no idea," The last part sounded like something he would die than tell anyone.
Raziah could only continue to pat his back.
"But...he wasn’t the only one responsible for all that. There had been a man and a woman. Years Later, I also found her. She’s dead now..." Raziah saw that he didn’t sound too convinced by his words, then he added, "But it seems her legacy isn’t,"
Raziah wanted to question his decision about also going after the woman’s people, but she didn’t want to interrupt him when he was finally saying something so valuable and important about himself. She had thought she was the only one struggling to know about controlling her powers, she never imagined he might be having a harder time than her.
"As if torturing and using me for several months wasn’t enough, she killed him too," Aragon almost cursed.
Now Raziah was curious again, "Who is ’ Him ’ ?" She mumbled softly, wondering if he was referring to himself since he wasn’t exactly a living person. But his reply was one she wouldn’t have pictured coming, not even in a thousand years.
"Cerzoan Odysseus, Vampire. Aragon Odysseus, Human. Elliott Odysseus, Witch. We were triplets, and she murdered Elliott right before my very eyes,"
