The shock on fabia’s face couldn’t even be described. She was utterly flabbergasted.
"She’s asking to see you, and I’ve deduced that she would ask you to tell her what’s going on with her body. My advice to you is to give her an excuse other than the truth. My reasons for that are she’s currently unstable and the truth would throw more confusion into her. Most important, we do not know the specie of the child that’s growing inside of her. King Aragon is a mysterious man, and so is Raziah. Telling any one of them might lead to a disaster, especially the mother herself who seems to hate our kind. I myself do not know what to make out of the baby, but I can tell you that the mother’s body is strong enough to carry it. For now, we just have to keep stalling,"
Fabia’s eyes were beginning to spin from the news. What was she supposed to make out of it? There were so many unanswered questions in all that he just said.
"Baby? Someone is having a baby?" Caius stepped out of the bathroom with a grin on his face. He didn’t hear much, but he did hear the word baby.
Bell wasn’t surprised to see him there, and what most bothered him about the child was the fact that it was hard to detect his presence somewhere. So instead, he had given Fabia a special perfume to spray on Caius once every two days so they would be able to track him down if anything goes wrong.
"No one is having a baby. You heard wrong."
"Oh look, Rainbow is here," He pointed at Bellerus then jumped on the sit, "I know someone’s having a baby! Is it Raina? Khalen? Which of them?!" He asked gingerly, referring to one of the witches
"No no," She shook her head and climbed the sit with him. She didn’t know Bellerus well to trust him fully with Caius, and therefore wouldn’t want them to have any problem because of it by thinking of tampering with Caius’s memory so he can forget what he heard. No one was gonna mess with her nephew any longer.
"Look here. Raziah is coming to visit, but she’s not feeling too well ok? We were only talking about how to make her well again. You must have heard wrong,"
Hearing Raziah’s name had him bouncing his body on the chair, "She’s coming over? Now?" He looked so excited.
"Yes,"
Turning to Bellerus, she nodded at him and he disappeared.
Raziah was almost at the cliff when he appeared in front of her. She cast him a look that said she wasn’t interested in anything except Fabia.
"I’m taking you to her. You won’t find her yourself, she’s at a safe location," He told her so she would understand. After a cold and scrutinizing once-over, she gave him, she allowed him to take her there. She was already tired from walking and was trying to catch her breath. She couldn’t believe that little walk that normally took nothing out of her was making her bones quake with tiredness.
Gently waving his hand over the edge of the cliff, a staircase suddenly appeared out of nowhere that lead to the ground. It was supported with metallic railings on each side, stretching down as long as the stair itself. They both climbed down, with Raziah’s eyes in awe as they came closer and closer to the town.
Once they were on solid ground, She gaped at the sight.
The buildings were huge, and as she had thought from the beginning, they looked like they had been built from something stronger than the normal building materials she knew, and they looked more advanced and civilized than other places.
As much as she wanted to admire it all, she had to have a doctor attend to her first, one that she trusted. Ushering her through, they had a pretty long walk before he arrived at a door. Raziah didn’t fail to notice how everyone turned to her with the same awe she had stared at them from above. Unlike what she had read and imagined, witches didn’t wear pointy hats or rode on brooms.
In fact, they dressed and looked like every other person she’s come across.
Bell knocked on the door, and it flew open the next second with Caius standing on the other end. He immediately flew into Raziah’s arms, squealing like a little child and the weak woman would have fallen if not that she had mentally prepared herself for the boy’s welcome.
"Oh my," Fabia stepped out with a smile on her face, "You seem very tired, did you walk all the way here?" She smiled before they hugged.
"She needed the exercise," Bell replied casually.
"Come in," Fabia took Raziah’s hand and helped her into the house. She made a quick eye contact with Bell, then he nodded in understanding.
"I’ll be back in a few hours. Let me know then how long you want to stay," He said to Raziah then left.
Raziah knew she couldn’t stay for long, or else Maria would worry and would tell Malcolm about it. And then Malcolm will give her another lecture when she returns.
As soon as Bell was gone, Raziah dropped Caius and dropped her weight on the chair. Her breath was heavy, and she felt like if she raised a finger her whole body would snap.
"Did you walk for long? You seem so tired," Fabia rushed to her side.
"I think something is wrong with me. I’ve been having morning sickness, and certain things trigger me to vomit and it’s like my world is spinning most of the time!" She explained with difficulty, catching her breath, "Please tell me what’s going on with my body. Is it stress?" She inquired. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
It could be. With the matter that the killer might be on her tail up till now, and Aragon always in her mind day and night, it could be that her body couldn’t take it anymore.
Checking her pulse, Fabia tried to keep the surprise from her eyes when she heard there were two of them. She checked using other methods to be sure that Raziah was truly pregnant, "You’re right. There’s nothing wrong with you, but you do need a lot of rest,"
"I do rest! My mind just wanders off all the time. I can’t concentrate anymore. It’s been three months, why does it feel like it’s growing with every ticking second?!" She was yelling at nothing in particular, and tears glistened around her troubled eyes.
"You’ll be fine," Fabia hugged her again, "You’re stronger than whatever it is. I promise you’ll be fine!" Fabia felt extremely bad for lying to the Princess, but she couldn’t risk Raziah hurting herself if she ever finds out about the baby. When Bell had been telling her earlier about why Raziah shouldn’t find it, it made sense because Raziah hated the superhumans. She called them monsters all the time and wanted nothing to do with them.
"Everywhere hurts! I’m getting weaker every day! It hurts! I’m dying Fabia, I’m dying!" She bawled harder over the woman’s shoulder, "It was supposed to happen when I’m twenty-five. I thought I was turning twenty-three this year but I was unconscious for a whole year so I’m twenty-four. I’m reaching my life limit, Fabia, I’ll soon be dead! It’s starting!" She continued on.
Fabia knew her emotions were all over the place because of the pregnancy. It was even worse since she was carrying an unknown and she felt like everything was spiraling over the place. Also, Fabia could feel a small amount of heat oozing out of Raziah’s skin. Instead of the normal cold that surrounded her all the time, her skin was a little warm.
Of course, she probably had one of the hottest man’s child on the planet growing inside of her.
Caius stood by the door, his eyes fixed on Raziah’s stomach. There was a little bump sitting there almost unnoticeable. He hadn’t said anything the whole time, as if a certain calmness had washed over him.
But behind the calm was a storm. A storm with a purpose.
