Chapter 181: Transfer of Power

Elliott stood in the middle of the forest, his mind secured on his location. After seeing the eerie object in the Queen’s room, he had thought to not quickly jump to conclusions based on only what Aragon had told him, and Elliott wanted to hear from the Crown witch’s mouth herself.

And so, he could feel the warmth coming from right in front of him. He’d never been inside the Amethyst Forest before and had never thought of doing such, but he had no other option but to do this.

He started to chant the spell that was supposed to open the gates into the Amethyst Forest, and just as it’s always been, it weakened him a little. Not just any witch could achieve such a feat. An ordinary witch would have fainted from extreme exhaustion before they even got to the end of the chant.

His arms and legs felt weak, but on the outside, he still looked tall and strong as if not a single atom of energy had been taken away from him.

As soon as he finished saying the spell, there was a crack in the air and it came from the space where he had been feeling that warmth. It literally looked like the space in front of him had cracked, and the crack grew bigger, spreading like the cracks on a broken glass, and began dissipating into nothing, exposing another dimension that was inside.

It grew big enough for him to walk through, and he stepped inside right before the opened gate that looked like a door that had been torn out of its hinges began to close again.

Lined in rows with a path filled with dried leaves all over the floor with the most breathtaking trees. They looked like palm trees lined up perfectly into rows and columns, but the leaves of the trees were almost purple in color. There was a full Moon in the sky, and its silver rays on the trees made it look even more magical. Everywhere beginning from the suspended door and down the open path was filled with dried purple leaves as Elliott gazed around in total awe, still finding it hard to believe his eyes.

The place was purely magical, intriguing him so much since it was his first time here.

There was a beautiful pathway down the road. Curiosity kicked in harder than before, which made him walk in to catch an even greater feeling. That warmness he had felt had only been oozing out of the doorway itself, and the inside he had now walked into was just something... extraordinary.

The air wasn’t warm, hot, or cold. It was just pleasant to the feel, like a new and refreshingly calm energy coursing through his veins as he took in a deep breath.

But Elliott did not let his thoughts be swayed for long. He was here to speak to the Crown Witch, and fast... before he was afraid Aragon might go on and do something on his own.

He hadn’t walked far along the path when his instincts told him he wasn’t alone. Multiple spells were thrown his way, attacking him all at once but he easily dodged every single one of them. He could feel the presence of witches around him, many hiding behind the trees.

"I come in peace!" He bellowed, pausing in his steps, "I’m only here to see Crown Witch Harlow, and it’s very urgent."

Silence ensured for a few seconds, although he could hear whispers coming from all around him before two people stepped out into the open. A man, and a woman. Both of them, he could tell, were very strong and they sort of looked alike. Siblings?

The man seemed more dignified though, his facials strong with brown hair, and the woman, although she was wearing clothes...she still exposed almost every part of her body.

"You cannot just barge in here and ask to see our Crown. State the business you have with her, or we will drag your carcass out of here, instead!" The man stated strongly, pointing his spear at Elliott.

There was a buildup around him. Elliott knew the witches were ready to throw in another attack, probably stronger than the last. But, that was not the problem here. The problem...was the man standing right in front of him.

"I don’t think you should worry much about me. Have you checked in lately with your Crown Witch? How is she doing?"

"It’s not you we should be worried about?" The female scoffed at Elliott, "You’re that confident in yourself, aren’t you?"

"No," Elliott shook his head, then motioned at the man again, "It’s something that happens whenever the Crown Witch is dying. A transfer of power to the next Worthy person in line. The Crown Witch is the only person who is bestowed with the cerulean eyes and metallic Silver hair." Elliott took a step forward, unbothered by the fact that he could be attacked at any moment, "Look at yourself, witch. This only means...your Crown witch is dying!"

Acacia and Bellerus paused for a moment, wondering what the stranger was trying to say. Slowly, Acacia turned to her brother only for her jaw to drop to the floor.

"Your hair!" She cried to Bellerus, "It’s... changing,"

Bell was shocked too. He gripped his spear, and glared at Elliott, "What is wrong with Harlow?! Why is she dying?"

"So you don’t even know anything?" Elliott rolled his eyes. He was only wasting his time here. If the Crown witch was around, he would have felt the power of her demeanor from the moment he had stepped in.

Elliott turned around and casually began walking away.

"I don’t have any business being here anymore!"

"Wait! Who are you?" Acacia demanded.

"Elliott, have a good day," He smoothly replied, and was gone the next second. Acacia thought to herself that Elliott had to be the second strongest witch alive considering how laid back and calm he was, and just how much his Aura screamed in volumes.

"What is happening to me?" Bellerus whispered next to her, feeling greater powers of a witch slowly sipping into him, "Is Harlow really dying? We have to find her!"

Elliott’s growing bad feeling had tripled. He contemplated whether to head back to Erandell and look for Aragon to know whether he had a hand in this, or head straight to Kaneria instead.

Elliott then decided to go to Erandell instead. He’d already been to Kaneria before, and if there was anything wrong, his brothers’ presence or not would be enough proof. If Aragon is still at Erandell, and none of their forces had been dispersed anywhere, then he would feel settled enough to go to Kaneria.

After all, his brothers and the kingdom come first.
