His hand which had been resting on her back had found its way to her hip, and his other palm holding her hand had also left to grip the other side of her hips, then he effortlessly lifted her into the air. He Had done it so fast that she couldn’t catch up with him, and already found herself only being supported by his hands as he spun her around leisurely with that calmly uncanny smile dancing around his lips.
Raziah felt weightless like she was flying, but the moment was short-lived because she wanted him to put him down. The only problem was that she would have to just hold back and wait a few more seconds because it seems like she isn’t the only woman being spun in the air right now. The music had gotten to that degree of dance steps, and the beat playing right now required something...more than just swaying on the feet. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
Some women were being spun around on their feet, while others who looked like a couple had been carried Into their men’s arms, staring lovingly at each other. As she looked around, they spun right past the sight of the king’s throne...and she locked eyes with him for a split second before her gaze shifted to other places, but that moment had enough goose flesh arousing her skin. His eyes didn’t look as dead as they did before, and this time he was sitting upright and there was molten steel glare to his inky depths.
Thankfully, the high note ended before Zoan could spin her past him and she quickly lowered her gaze not to see her husband again. She was still recovering from the heat that had radiated from him from the last time they had spoken, and she didn’t want another dose of it right now. So instead, her eyes found Zoan’s as he set her back on her feet.
She wanted to glare at him for doing that unexpectedly, but it was also her fault for not paying attention to the flow of the music.
"So, What were we saying?" He cooed softly.
"You must think I’m stupid," She replied indifferently.
"No actually, I think you are just perfect!" He flashed her a quick grin, before spinning her around. This time she was attentive, and she followed his guide.
"No one is perfect." She stated when they got back to their normal positions as the spin ended.
"You’re not entirely right..." Zoan’s eyes flickered sharply with a stone look as his eyes shifted to the double doors behind for. She would have turned around to see what had made him jump into this mood, but the fact that there wasn’t the slightest crawl on her skin was enough confirmation that whatever it is wasn’t dangerous.
"Where have you been...all this while?" Raziah asked, pulling his attention back to her. Whatever or whoever it is that he was glaring at so hard would have to thank her later for bringing his eyes back to hers, granted how he had been sending a Sharp and venomous glare behind her.
"Here and there. I travel quite a lot." He replied, and she noticed he took a quick glance behind her again.
"When will you be traveling again?"
"You can make me want to stay if you keep things interesting here,"
What did he mean by that?
"If... you’re The king’s elder brother, aren’t up supposed to assist him in ruling? Did the both of you decide on this or...is it complicated?"
He didn’t reply immediately this time, making her almost hold her breath for the third time that night, "Goldy, Some things are better off kept locked away, hidden in the deepest parts of the soul, or better still, broken into pieces. Millions, atoms that can never be fixed back to what it was before..." His voice was deep, and his words were even deeper.
Raziah could understand everything he was saying, and she sighed tiredly this time. She didn’t mean to let that moment of weakness take over her, but his words had a grave impact on her that had her subconsciously submitting to the guilt and fear that had been eating her up, "Then what if... What if it starts crawling back, what if the unforeseen occurs, and throws everything apart? What if you’re suddenly discovering that..." Her moment of fragility ended right there, and her eyes popped open.
Dear God, what did she just say?!
Zoan was staring right back at her with inquisitive smoky eyes. She couldn’t believe herself! She knew she didn’t say anything critical, but with everything she’s done so far, it would be so obvious that she really is hiding something, and what if someone else was listening to their conversation? Zoan was already enough trouble for her now.
"I saw you at the grand castle that night. He knew I would be there somehow. He’s always kept track of my movements even though we didn’t meet face-to-face for many years. He came looking for me, but he found you instead." Zoan demystified with a serious look. There were more details behind every word that left his lips, but he had simply summarized it for her.
No one here is stupid. She must have figured out one way or the other that Aragon wasn’t present that night because he came there searching for a bride. Hell, he didn’t just come there looking for Zoan himself, but ultimately he had left there with a Present. Every single Vampire that night had gone there searching for something that was said will be available that night. In fact, even some powerful witches had been shown up too, but...
Aragon had gotten to the price first because he knew that the others, especially Zoan himself would come for it. But not directly.
So instead, Aragon had placed his scent on it to keep every thirsty creature away, and took the present all for himself.
"He felt your cold, they all did. Like the most treasured birthday present, My little brother knew I would come for it...what he didn’t expect was that he would be the one to unwrap that present himself because he can feel the locked world inside it, and believes he would find the key and selfishly blare it open. Aragon is..."
The swift intake of air that came with the quickest spin in her life had her body crashing into a hard and sturdy chest. One arm was wrapped protectively around her waist, and she could feel his whole body trembling like he was seriously trying to keep her away from whatever it was. Her head was pressed against his chest, and the vibrations she could feel emitting from his body had her gulping softly as she peered up into his eyes.
"For a woman who was asleep for days and looking like she would faint anytime soon, you’ve been awfully active!" Aragon’s hellhole of blazing depths met hers, and heat instantly exploded around them.
