Chapter 84: Something Going on.

"I... really have to go," Raziah uttered softly.

He didn’t say anything, but she could feel him tightening his grip on her waist. He heard a low snarl leaving his lips, and knew she was in a pinch.

"I just have to check up on them. I’ll...be back soon." She added, and the snark stopped. She could feel him contemplating as he kept loosening and tightening his grip repeatedly for about a minute or so before he came to a decision. And that decision was to catch her off guard again and enclose her into his arms.

"You should know that there is not a single thing you do that doesn’t push me close to insanity all the f**king time." He cooed against her neck, his warm fingers traveling around her back, "And you better keep your word. I take them as promises you cannot break!" He added raspily, the sheer warning dripping from every word that left his lips, leaving her throat completely dry.

There was a breathy moment of silence between them before she peeled him off her and left the room. If this was how her mornings were gonna be from now on, she might just start spending the night with Maria then. To resist that man’s advances was harder than anything, and now that he has started making so many advances... Especially Last night’s.

Everything was so fresh in her head that no matter how hard she tried to hide it, there was always a hint of red on her face. Today was different from any day she ever spent in the palace, because everyone she came across kept bowing at her. It just felt awkward and incredibly weird that she almost felt like giving the order for them to stop! But she was the king’s wife, and it was the proper courtesy and respect they were to give her.

Can she ever get used to it?

Getting to Fabia’s chambers, she was just about to knock when the door opened itself. A huge part of her mind was still recalling yesterday’s events, and she mistakenly knocked on something else, which wasn’t a door. Surprised at its hardness, her full attention was drawn to the door only to find Aletta standing there with a red nose.

And now, a red forehead. She winced softly, rubbing her head.

"I’m very sorry." Raziah apologized as she stared at the woman who looked like she didn’t have a blink of sleep. Right there, her face constricted in a bizarre yet natural manner, then she sneezed.

Hard.

"Your highness..." She muttered, looking dead in the eye.

"You don’t look too good." Raziah felt her temperature which was a bit high, "You woke up like this?"

"No. I was tortured the whole of last night, and apparently, it’s just the beginning of many more to come." She stumbled out, sneezing once again. She had covered her nose with a small white clothing, and the whole of her face was white.

"Tortured? What do you mean?" Raziah inquired.

Aletta began walking away, "Pollen. I was tortured with pollen. I need..." And her voice died off. Now she was mumbling words that didn’t make sense to anyone. Raziah thought about what she had said for a second. Pollen? Flowers? Sickness? Torture? Many more to come? Does it has something to do with Zoan?!

Shrugging it off for now, she walked into the room. There was this satisfaction that ran through her body when she saw Indah and another female warrior she didn’t recognize inside the room, while Fabia and Caius were fast asleep. They were standing by each corner of the bed, looking after the ones asleep.

They both bowed when she walked in, careful not to make a sound and wake them up. A good Kind of chill spread through her chest, and she felt so elated that someone was now looking after them, especially Caius. Now she wouldn’t have to worry about them too much.

"Thank you." She mouthed at the both of them sincerely. Indah smiled back at her, while the other woman was rendered speechless.

Now, Raziah was off to see Malcolm. She set off to the room she saw him the other day resting after the injury he had sustained and arrived just in time. He and Felix were speaking to each other just outside the room, and she eyed them suspiciously again. These too seem too close for duos who just met last night.

They hadn’t sighted her yet because she was peeking from a corner. One step forward to meet them, and she was already fleeing back to hide again because someone had just walked up to them. There was the king’s enchantress, Tatiana, and the funny thing about the encounter was that Malcolm wasn’t looking the least bit surprised to see her, and they were conversing so naturally. As usual, she had her proud chin up like she always did while talking to everyone.

In a short while, the three of them were walking away with the enchantress at the front. Raziah’s curious mind was following them everywhere, ignoring every maid or guard that saw her tiptoeing around them, hiding and watching them.

When she watched Malcolm and Tatiana walk into a room, leaving Felix standing outside, Raziah’s mouth fell open. Wait... What?!

She didn’t know exactly who owned that room, but why the hell was Malcolm escorting her in? There had to be something going on between them. Did she use some vampire skill on him to make him do her bidding or something? Why Malcolm? Why business do they have with each other? Why isn’t Malcolm telling her anything about all this? First, she saw him talking to Taj, then she noticed he has a good relationship with Felix...and now Tatiana?!

She tried to calm herself down. Maybe it wasn’t as complicated as she was seeing it. There has to be a reasonable explanation for all of this, there’s no need to throw herself into thinking. She must be overthinking things.

Just then, the door opened a little and it was Acacia that came out this time, which had Raziah’s eyes popping wide open again. What had Raziah almost screaming was when she saw the Sorceress only dressed in a layer of short dark thin gown, and she wasn’t wearing anything underneath because it was a see-through cotton cloth.

Oh no no no...!

Raziah was already matching up to them before she could rethink her decision.
