A trumpet was blown, and everyone sitting pulled up to their feet to welcome the couple. There were all surprised at the unexpected news that came from the announcement because majority of them had been thinking Raziah was just his whore, and so the word ’ Bride ’ now had most of the gathering gaping. But there was no one present who was more stunned that the bride herself.
The second the words had left the announcer’s lips, she thought maybe he had made a big mistake due to his excitement, but when she had stared at her husband, waiting for him to do something as they walked down to the throne waiting for them at the end of the royal walk, that was when it had made one hell of a sense.
The thrones were empty, meaning the king hadn’t arrived. She recalled Uariel telling her that the King didn’t have a queen, so what was a smaller yet similar throne doing next to his? Zoan’s face flashed in her mind, but she had a feeling it wasn’t for him. Even the shock that was evident on many faces around lead her to that conclusion, and she had summed it up and just kept her cool till they climbed up the short stairs, and she watched her husband take his seat gracefully.
The whole scenario was so unbelievably believable. Right from the start when she had looked through his cupboard, the clothes he had looked nothing like the ones a prince puts on, and she always saw him resembling a mighty ruler anytime he walked up to her in those regal wears. She had thought perhaps it was because Erandell was a huge and well-known kingdom, and powerful as well that was why everyone dressed that way too.
How wrong she had been.
"Sit,"
One word and she went like she had been bespelled. Raziah took the other throne next to him, and a driven energy that came straight from her bones ran down her spine. She couldn’t find a word to describe how she was feeling at the moment as she stared at the people. The feel alone of sitting on a throne was something she never imagined in her life, let alone becoming a ruler. It was truly overwhelming to have so many eyes on you, mostly when you’re aware that not all of those eyes are ordinary ones.
As always, she retained that cold uninterested look in her eyes as she let her gaze wander about the room. She had come across the throne room in the past the first time she had left the room, and she remembered what it looked like, but his hall looked nothing like the throne room she knew. The statues at each corner of the room weren’t there anymore, and the ceiling was decorated differently. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
The room was lit and had this gothic setting almost like the one she had seen back at Eleazar’s party the night they had arrived. A dimly lit room with only a few candles and lanterns hanging somewhere from the ceiling, looking like little dark golden chandeliers that had been scattered around the whole place. The decorations were everywhere, and it wasn’t so bad with the well-dressed humans, vampires, or witches filling the spaces.
It was quite blindsiding to know that Vampires and Witches coexist and live together when everything she’s read about them spoke nothing of that sort. Except if they’ve found a way to overcome their differences, but that doesn’t mean there still aren’t some out there who do not agree with this. Now, what exactly is the purpose of this event?
"Without further ado, I would like to introduce the fellow neighboring and far away Royal families that have come to witness this long-awaited event. His Roya Majesty had finally acquired his Queen, and as the norm has always gone..." Now Raziah had her eyes on the male announcer, and she almost didn’t recognize Prince Edward, and she wasn’t too surprised when she sighted Caius standing very close to him with those big excited eyes of his. He was putting on a shirt for the first time, but it was incredibly light and a little transparent. His hair was styled handsomely, but the strands that had escaped were proof enough that he still wasn’t listening to his aunt and doing what he wants.
It was till a male figure blocked her path that she realized what was going on. The guests from those kingdoms present had come to greet and introduce themselves. Raziah stood up to her feet, feeling like a mouse trapped in the middle of hungry cannibals, but they were all just... smiling at her as they Introduced themselves and placed a kiss on her knuckles. One of the women made to kiss her cheek, but Raziah sent her bowing curtly with one glare. The whole process of trying to fit their names into her memory was a hassle, but she managed to learn most of their names and the positions they held in their kingdoms and she saw it as something to celebrate since she was so damn hungry.
The second they ended, and she sat back down- Raziah herself didn’t even realize how fast she was rubbing on the back of her palm where those creatures had placed their lips and she didn’t care if they even noticed what she was doing. From there, she trailed down and gently massaged her wristband.
"Behead." A tight deep voice whispered from her right, and she glanced to see her husband. He hadn’t said anything until now, and why does he look pissed off? She followed his gaze to find out what could be bothering him, but he was just staring into space.
Raziah scowled, and then she sighted a few more people in the crowd. Maria had arrived, and Malcolm was right beside her giving her a small wave while Maria was grinning from ear to ear. Seeing them together brought forth a heavy feeling in her chest, and she was so happy they had finally met. Though they weren’t the only people she had seen, she had also sighted King Eleazar, Gwenore, and even Leander whom had taken their seats amongst the other royal families, lined up along this long table that was made just for all of them. There were meals set in front of them, but they were mostly interested in the red bowl of drink... making Raziah frown.
Now she knew what that red drink was.
She turned to the desk beside her where the maids were also setting down her food, and she took that as her opportunity. Picking up a spoon and an empty glass cup, she pulled up to her feet and clunked the spoon against the glass, and the hall grew quiet once more.
She was prepared for this.
"A wonder gathering, isn’t it?" She began, speaking very loudly so even the guards outside could hear her, "From Kings and Queens, Princes and Princesses, dukes and duchesses, Earls and countesses, Viscounts and Viscountesses, Knights and warriors, and the people as a whole...Such a lovely, lovely, lovely gathering." She knew that the Last part was overly said, but she wanted to make sure each and every one of them heard the raw sarcasm dripping from every word.
Even Aragon couldn’t help but turn to her at that moment, his rapt attention on her.
"My Very dear husband here," She turned to him and forced a smile in her eyes, "Thank you for everything, and for holding this lovely event. Look at me, even the dress is gorgeous, isn’t it?"
Malcolm couldn’t hold himself back anymore. Raziah had to hold her tongue, and she had to do it right now!
"I apologize if I’m making this very uncomfortable for you," She made sure to stress the word ’ Uncomfortable ’, but I would only want to remain your wife if possible. Sitting on this throne is too much for me, and do you think a human can handle it?"
"Raziah!!" Malcolm gritted out as she kept moving through the crowd to reach her. She could hear him, and she knew he was gonna come for her but she had already started and would see it to the very end. She didn’t like ninety percent of the population here, and she wasn’t gonna keep quiet this time. Aragon didn’t Tell her he was the king! He didn’t tell her he wasn’t human till a month after their marriage, he didn’t tell her she was gonna be queen! He didn’t even tell her what this event would be about. He had always kept her in confusion and suspense since they arrived at this kingdom, and since he had decided to reveal everything in front of a large crowd, then she wouldn’t hesitate to do the same.
"In conclusion your Majesty, I do not want to be Erandell’s queen so you should either get rid of me as your wife...or..." Raziah pointed at the many princesses seated, but the person she was pointing at was Princess Gwenore whom had her jaw dropped all this time, "You can marry another wife, and make her your Queen instead. And I sincerely think you are perfect for each other!"
