"I grew up in a small village with my parents till I turned eight. My Father and my mother had bad blood, so they hardly ever spoke and everyone was focused on themselves. One day, the village was raided and my father sacrificed his life for my own. Two years later when I found out it was the war between Vampires and witches that reached my village and had many of us killed in their crossfires, I could not bring myself to forgive them.
Out of that hate, my powers were born. I felt superhuman, like them and I hated myself even more knowing I had qualities that resembled theirs so I hid away from everyone. The only person who stood with me was Sir Galland, whom was the son of the family that adopted me and we became unbreakable.
Years passed, and I only felt worse about myself. I could see, hear, smell, and feel things more than others and it only kept growing. I was no Princess, Raziah. I had no Royal blood in me. I was a simple commoner who was drowned in the miseries of her past and the only thing keeping me from taking my life was Galland,"
Raziah had no idea about all this.
"Another ten years passed and I met your father. Your father was the kindest of men, and I was able to open up to him about how I realized I could control the unnatural and I could heal anyone no matter how severely injured even though they were dismembered and on the brink of death. When I met Harlow, I was already married to your father and I was afraid of letting any witch try and help me because of my past. I had painted them all as evil, and I kept declining her offer and threatened her to leave me alone."
Mirabai took a deep breath.
"One day I got separated from your father and I was being accused of theft by the villagers when a witch approached me. It was a male witch and just like Harlow, he told me he could help me control my powers. He told me that if I did not learn to control them, I would not be able to protect the ones dear to me. It turned out he was a powerful witch that had gone evil, and wanted to perform an experiment using me as his source.
I didn’t know that, and I accepted his offer without telling your father. He took me somewhere far and senile, where I saw that he had kidnapped a teenage boy and had tied him all up... torturing him. The witch told me the boy was a rogue Vampire that had murdered tons, hence his punishment was to be used for the experiment."
Raziah was not liking the angle the story was taking. She wanted it to stop but she was too curious and invested to know what happened, so she forced herself to remain silent and continue to listen even though she was getting colder by the minute.
"Being powerful, and after many trials and failures, the witch was able to harness my powers. He controlled and awakened many different creatures ranging from Vampires, Witches, nymphs, Fae, Mermaids, Goblins...so many kinds that I myself don’t know what they’re. When I saw what they were doing to the boy, I did not stop it."
Oh God. Raziah had begun to tremble.
"I was too invested In myself. I had spent years being lost and I just wanted help. I was tired of running away, so I watched and didn’t do anything about it for months!" Mirabai was crying profusely now, breaking in between her words, "I was selfish for months. I thought it was for the best, and that the Rogue vampire was getting what he deserved. And even...," Mirabai paused, taking a deep breath, "Even when I found out that he was just an innocent human, I still didn’t do anything to stop it. I thought to myself that all he had to do was to keep enduring, that the experiment would come to an end soon. It didn’t...," Mirabai swallowed, "And the boy actually turned rogue and killed the male witch. I barely escaped with my life, and I have lived in fear ever since. You were ten years old by then, and you were even more active and were always leaving the protective walls of the palace. I was so worked up about your safety, and the boy was one of the reasons why I didn’t want you leaving the palace because I didn’t want you to come across him and have him recognize me through you. I finally accepted Harlow’s help, and I thought the only way to forgive myself for my actions was to help unite the vampires and the witches. I thought it would make me less of a monster than I already was. I and Harlow achieved so much and thinking I was the only healer alive, Harlow erased all traces of anything related to being a healer from the silver book. We thought we had everything under control...I didn’t know my past was going to catch up to me and destroy everything. That boy...," The Queen was so ashamed and scared of herself.
But Mirabai paused when she realized she was beginning to fade away. She could not keep herself from not crossing over this time, and Raziah was not looking like herself.
Mirabai had never seen anyone’s eyes so red and big, trembling like the sockets were going to explode out. Her fear doubled, and she reached out and squeezed her daughter’s hand... but it was freezing.
If she held it for too long, her hands would fall off.
"Raziah...!"
"You’re lying," Raziah grabbed her hair and pulled, disbelief coursing through her glowing eyes, "You’re lying to me. Tell me you’re lying!!" She cried loudly.
"I’m so sorry. I’m so so sorry. You were too young to be told anything and understand. I wish we had no time...,"
Raziah was not listening anymore. She had never felt so much hate and darkness in her heart before, and it only took over her instead of calming down.
Even her mother could not stop what was about to unfold. The truth was bitter, too bitter to be accepted.
Raziah was not gonna accept this. Never!
This cannot be true.
.
.
It felt like only a few seconds had passed when Raziah had threatened Aragon and Silver that she was gonna tear them apart. Aragon did not know what happened in those few seconds of complete silence, but he sensed the incoming and imminent danger that was about to shake the earth and immediately backed away from her.
Raziah’s body exploded with her powers, and an insane scream was torn out of her mouth. The explosion was enough to blast Aragon far away from her, and he had to grip the icy floor with his claws to stop himself from the chaotic wind that was blasting everywhere from where she stood, engulfed in a haze of cold swirling and only growing bigger and Bigger.
The Wolf’s eyes followed the incredible growth of the haze that was like a tornado, seeking to suck him in.
As if the first blast was not enough, What resembled large wings made of scales emerged out of the haze, and the disaster that had formed exploded once again Into nothing, knocking into everything in its path with Aragon protecting himself not to get blasted away.
Then, A loud growl that shook the whole of hell filled his ears.
And standing proudly in front of him was a Dragon. A full-fledged, large Dragon with a body that resembled what had been carved from ice.
And the eyes of the Dragon resembled none other than his wife’s.
Just when he thought he had things under control...
