Chapter 124: Night Of The Red Moon.

Raziah just knew she had to run the hell away from everyone, and possibly everything around her. She could hear a noise coming from the background and knew the man behind her was saying something, but her attention was solemnly focused on the path in front of her she was about to take. Her breathing was only getting more and more erratic by the second, and even her vision wasn’t so good anymore.

Eclipses were something known to be very rare. Raziah has long ago learned that something spectacular happens to her kind once the eclipse of the moon is fully awakened, but she didn’t know it was gonna be this intense. Moreover, she didn’t even know there was gonna be an eclipse soon, or else she would have escaped and found another place to settle in for a few days back at Naria till the day passed.

Now she understood why her injuries had miraculously healed, and the spike of energy rushing through her veins just at the sight of the blood moon as they call it. It was like her body had taken control of her, and everything kept tumbling out of control like a blizzard was moving through her.

"Is this the first time this is happening?" Bell came up behind her, careful in his steps. He couldn’t rattle her more than she already is.

Raziah groaned loudly and slumped down to the floor. She went so suddenly that she slammed her head on the floor, but the pain disappeared just as it came. Grabbing a handful of the leaves under her, Raziah arched her back up spontaneously fast and quick and the bones from her neck and below cracked in the air, stretching to accommodate and welcome more of the changes happening to her.

Another low hiss left her lips as all her other joints followed suit and stretched, almost like they were snapping in half with just how loud the sound of the crack was echoing around them.

Raziah couldn’t feel her body anymore. She was just there on the floor, still looking as humanly figured as people. They seem to have been no physical changes in her body even with all that, but Bell noticed sharply that those cracks weren’t meant for her to transform into something, but it was to replace her body structure to become much stronger than before.

Her bones were much more stronger now, and everything was just perfect in her. When she finally glanced up to stare at the path in front of her again, her cheekbones were even more well-defined than before. If that was all the transformation she was gonna undergo, she would have breathed a sigh of relief by now but when the bad feeling didn’t seem to calm down in her gut, Raziah just knew this was only the beginning.

"Don’t follow me!" She could barely speak, finding the strength to pull her shaky legs to their feet before taking off into a run into the night. Raziah thought at first that finding shelter from the moon would make it all stop, but she recalled it started while she was in that room where the moon hadn’t been reaching in the first place.

The process was extremely excruciating. She could hardly feel any of her limbs, and she was more like crawling on the floor instead of running. She just couldn’t stay still while the man from the forest was still there witnessing the things happening to her, so she had to get rid of him somehow. Eventually, a little more of her strength returned and she was able to get up and increase the speed of her race.

If it was possible for her to find a cave or shelter where she could hide alone, then she would settle there for the night and take in whatever comes alone. It was then more feeling came back to her skin, and she felt the moistness of the earth beneath her bare legs, telling her that it hasn’t been long since it rained down. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

The air was very cool, and the wind that was constantly picking up alerted her that it wouldn’t be too long before the skies shower down again upon the earth. Just when she thought she was finding a bit of relief in everything, her arm started to itch like crazy. It wasn’t just the arm, but the part that was covered with her wristband. It didn’t just itch, it became so cold to the touch that Raziah would swear it was raining blocks of Ice right there at the spot, along with the terrible itch it came with.

She was dying to tear off the wristband so she could tend to the unease racking her arm, but that would just be the beginning of another war for her. The wristband kept her as sane as she can be, and the second she takes it off... everything would drastically change. So she could only twist her arm at different angles, her eyes laced with hurt and torment as she hoped dearly for it to stop before she let out an anguishing scream.

It was like the spot in her arm that had always been covered was pleading with her to take it off by any means, but her stubbornness surpassed anything else. She was in so much discomfort that she once again fell to her knees, and began slamming her hand on the floor, hoping to get some relief before she loses her mind.

She cried out again and again, rolling and twisting on the floor till all her clothes and even her face and skin were coated badly in the dirty water beneath her, and the scent of earth after rain.

The terrible itch must have taken all her attention because, by the time she became aware of the fear that had clawed its way up her skin and settled into the deepest part of her, it was already too late. For a split second there, she forgot completely about her aching arm and all instincts told her to run.

But... It was too late.

She could only stand up when something came out of the darkness and slammed into her harshly, and she flew and crashed against the bark of another tree.
