Chapter 36

There's no need to restrain yourself.

Everything between the two of them developed naturally.

After it was over, Zhou Zuizui reached out and poked Shen Nan's shoulder. She was a little tired, but she still kept talking while keeping her eyes open.

Are you in a bad mood?

She hadn't noticed it before, but just now... Zhou Zuizui realized that Shen Nan was putting in a little more effort in that matter. Although it wasn't exactly a venting of emotions, she could tell that it was different from usual, at least not as gentle.

This man's tenderness in bed is extraordinary. He goes to great lengths to please you and make you happy. Zhou Zuizui was slightly uncomfortable, and Shen Nan could sense it, but this man didn't tonight.

It should be said that the reaction was relatively slow.

She is a sensitive person by nature, and even though she was extremely tired, she still couldn't help but ask.

Shen Nan was slightly taken aback, not expecting her to be so thoughtful. He paused, then pulled her into his arms and hummed in agreement: "A little bit."

"Why?"

Shen Nan remained silent.

Zhou Zuizui understood, reached out and hugged him, burying her face in his neck and saying, "If you don't want to talk about it, then don't." She gently pressed her ear against Shen Nan's neck and lightly bit him: "Go to sleep, you'll feel better after a good night's sleep."

"Okay." He hugged the person even tighter.

Zhou Zuizui fell asleep right after saying her last sentence; she was too tired. Shen Nan, on the other hand, was still in good spirits.

He stared at the person in his arms for a long time before turning his head to look out the window. The curtains in the room were drawn tightly, but there was a slight gap in the window, allowing the wind outside to blow in, stirring the curtains in the corner and creating slight ripples.

He stared at it for a long time before placing his other hand, which he hadn't let Zhou Zuizui use as a pillow, behind his head. His eyes were deep, and it was impossible to tell what he was thinking.

It's not that I can't talk about what Zhou Zuizui asked. It's just that I don't know how to say it right now.

Shen Nan lowered his eyes, gazing at her sleeping face for a long time, before placing a very light kiss on her cheek.

—It's time, and it should be time, to face it.

The next morning, Zhou Zuizui had breakfast with Shen Nan, which was a rare occasion.

Neither of them mentioned what happened last night. Shen Nan left early because he needed to be there at eight o'clock, while Zhou Zuizui took her time and didn't arrive at the newspaper office until nine o'clock.

Once inside, it became incredibly lively, with everyone gathered together gossiping.

The newspaper office during the day was like a gossip scene, with different commentaries on each group's stakeout from the previous night. The most frequent comments were probably on the photos and videos that Zhou Zuizui and Lin You had gathered the previous night.

She had only been there a short while when she was called to a meeting. The other side had found out about the male celebrity's photos and wanted to buy them.

Zhou Zuizui was taken aback, glanced at Lin You who had a furrowed brow, and remained silent.

Lin looked at the editor-in-chief, sneered, and lowered his head to take notes.

After a while, the editor-in-chief looked at the two of them: "That photo can't be sent out for now." He raised his chin and looked at Lin You: "Copy all the data to me later."

Lin raised his eyelids and looked at the editor-in-chief: "Are they that rich over there?"

The editor-in-chief choked up, looking quite helpless: "There's nothing I can do, the pressure from above." He patted Lin You on the shoulder in a mock manner and said, "You'll still get your bonus this month, you're a big contributor to this!"

Upon hearing this, Lin scoffed, "How many times do you think they can buy it?"

She looked at the editor-in-chief and said, "I'm keeping a close eye on him!" After saying that, Lin turned and left without even looking at the editor-in-chief.

The editor-in-chief slammed the door shut, subconsciously narrowed his eyes, then looked at Zhou Zuizui, sighed, and said, "Help me persuade Lin You."

Zhou Zuizui looked completely bewildered: "Okay, editor-in-chief, I'll head back now."

"Um."

After leaving the office, Zhou Zuizui took her cup to the break room and overheard some gossip on the other side.

"I heard that the photos Lin took last night were screenshotted again."

“I knew it wouldn’t work, but every time this male actor’s videos are sold out.”

"They're really rich."

"I'm not saying this to be mean, but why is Lin targeting him and Ling Qing so much? I feel like there's something going on."

"You guys don't know this, do you?" someone said in a low voice. "I heard that this actor is Sister Lin You's ex-boyfriend. They broke up with him back then or something. Anyway, ever since Sister Lin You joined our newspaper, she's been keeping an eye on this guy."

"Holy crap, is this that exciting?!"

...

Zhou Zuizui listened to the sounds coming from inside, stared at her cup for a moment, then turned around and went back to her seat. Afterward, she took her wallet and went downstairs.

She was carrying two cups of coffee and finally found Lin You on the rooftop.

How did you know I was here?

Zhou Zuizui smiled and handed her the coffee: "I asked my colleagues, and they said you like to come here to get some fresh air and relax."

She took a sip of her coffee, looked up at the scenery in the distance, squinted her eyes, and said with great enjoyment, "This place is really nice for a breeze, it feels so good."

Lin chuckled, then took a sip of coffee and said, "It's not bad. That's why they say you have to stand tall; the higher you stand, the more scenery you see." She gave a soft laugh and looked at Zhou Zuizui: "How are you feeling now? Still want to go to the social news section?"

"Yes, I want to," Zhou Zuizui said, resting her chin on her hand. "I've always wanted to, but I'm not really interested in entertainment gossip."

Her purpose in joining the newspaper was to report on social news; this had always been her goal, and also a secret desire she harbored. Through social news reporting, she could explore more diverse places, even remote mountainous areas—things Zhou Zuizui longed to visit and experience.

She also wants to expose more of the lower levels of society to everyone. Although people are more interested in gossip nowadays, this will not change her mind.

She is more interested in social news.

Lin stared intently at her for a long while, then smiled and said, "If there's a chance, apply to go there and try it out in a while."

"Um."

After they enjoyed the breeze for a while, Lin looked at her with a smile and said, "Ling Qing deleted her Weibo posts, did you know?"

"I know." Zhou Zuizui lowered her head, smiled gently, and said, "My husband told me."

Lin raised an eyebrow, her eyes showing approval: "Your husband is good."

"Not bad." She thought of Shen Nan and chuckled softly, "He's quite a straight man, but he did a good job."

Actually, she hadn't planned to tell Shen Nan about it. The photos were taken at that time, and although Ling Qing had malicious intentions in posting them, she was only angry and wouldn't ask Shen Nan to have them deleted. But she didn't expect Shen Nan to ask Lu Jiaxiu and then have Ling Qing delete the photos.

This one gesture was enough to move Zhou Zuizui deeply.

Who said this man can't do anything? He can do everything!

Thinking about it, she smiled softly.

Lin stared at it for a moment, then chuckled as well.

For the next few days, Zhou Zuizui followed Lin You to keep an eye on all kinds of news and gossip.

Besides the male actor and Ling Qing, the two also happened to take photos of a third-tier actress dating, which they posted the next day, causing quite a stir.

While she was busy with work, Shen Nan's training was also underway.

On the first day of training, Shen Nan gave everyone a rude awakening.

This training session is considered the first round of selection, gathering all the candidates with unique characteristics, so there can be no leniency in the training. Shen Nan is authoritative, but he also has some rebellious individuals who are not entirely convinced of his abilities.

On the first day, Shen Nan gave them a hard time, and the group toned it down a little. But a few days later, seeing that Shen Nan wasn't too strict, they suddenly started to act recklessly again.

For example, right now. Shen Nan is having his people train, and they're laughing and joking around.

He sneered, lifted his eyelids, and glanced around at the crowd: "Quiet down!"

Many people quieted down, but some continued talking.

He just watched everyone quietly, his expression indifferent. After a while, someone noticed something was wrong; all the sound had disappeared.

Shen Nan stared intently at the group of people: "Not going to talk anymore?" He smirked, his expression languid: "Go on, I'll let you talk your fill today!"

No one spoke.

Shen Nan rolled up his sleeves, tossed the things aside, and shouted sternly, "Everyone! Fifty push-ups!"

Everyone looked at each other. They immediately lay down and started working, but there were a couple who didn't move.

"Don't want to do it?" His voice was gloomy, and his eyes were sharp.

Bai Feiyang stood tall and straight, and reported, "Report! What did we do wrong, and why did we do it!"

Shen Nan laughed: "What did I do wrong? Don't you have any self-awareness?"

Bai Feiyang remained silent.

Pei Jun, standing to the side, then asked, "Report, neither of us spoke just now!"

Shen Nan chuckled: "What were you doing while they were talking?"

He glanced at the others doing push-ups and snapped, "Do it!"

The two exchanged a glance, and Bai Feiyang was much more stubborn: "I did nothing wrong! I won't do it!"

"Very good." Shen Nan glanced at the sun, then looked at his teammates: "You all keep doing what Bai Feiyang started!"

These words aroused deep resentment among everyone. The two remained locked in a silent stalemate for a long time before Bai Feiyang reluctantly began to sit down.

After fifty push-ups, everyone stood up and assembled.

Shen Nan looked around and then at everyone, his gaze sharp and resolute. He said, "Do you know why Bai Feiyang insisted on doing this even though he had no problems?" He said sternly, "Because you are all comrades-in-arms! What is most important to us soldiers? Unity and obedience to orders! No one can kill a thousand or even ten thousand enemies on their own! On the battlefield, you all need to rely on your comrades and cooperate with them to achieve victory!"

"One person's glory is the team's glory; the team's glory is your glory!"

He tirelessly explained, "There's no reason why. If one person makes a mistake, the whole group is punished, simply because you are comrades-in-arms! Comrades-in-arms are your right-hand men! There's no reason why, on the battlefield, besides the steel guns in our hands, we only have our comrades-in-arms to trust!"

Under the scorching sun, everyone's faces were covered in sweat, and their backs were completely soaked.

Shen Nan looked at the people listening to the training and took a deep breath: "Everyone, right turn!" He glanced down at the original training schedule: "Tonight is wilderness survival training!"

…………

The crowd responded in deep, resonant voices: "Yes!"

They are comrades-in-arms, brothers.

Zhou Zuizui didn't care that Shen Nan didn't go home for field training.

She was tempted, but she knew he was a military family member. So when Shen Nan texted her saying he had training that night and wouldn't be home, she didn't hesitate at all and went with Lin to keep an eye on the actor.

And then, something happened that very night.

The two waited outside until midnight, and the car remained quietly parked on the side of the road without making a sound.

Zhou Zuizui was chatting with Lin You, saying, "It's no use for us to keep guarding like this."

Lin hesitated for a moment before saying, "Let's see how things go, then we'll head back later." She added, "Actually, I didn't intend to keep an eye on this guy, but I'm just so angry. Why can't such a scumbag be known to innocent young girls!"

That's a real scumbag.

But on the surface, he still maintains the image of a good husband, making his fans overjoyed.

Lin disapproved of these things the most, she whispered to Zhou Zuizui.

Zhou Zuizui nodded, indicating that she understood. She was indeed very annoyed. The profession of journalism wasn't as complex as people misunderstood; although there were exaggerations, it was still about uncovering the truth.

As the two were chatting, a new car suddenly appeared from the side, traveling at an extremely high speed and crashing into them without stopping for a moment.

...

Shen Nangang had just finished training and hadn't even returned home when Xiao Tong jumped out of another vehicle and came towards him, quickly saying, "Captain, something happened to your wife."
