Chapter 198 Control Group

Billiards hall.

A woman wearing a red wool coat, with big, wavy hair and bright red lips, was puffing out a cigarette.

With her bottom resting on the pool table, her high heels tapping the ground, she scolded Ah Yong, who was playing pool:

"Don't go home tonight, come to my place."

Ah Yong spat the cigarette butt from his mouth onto the ground, knocking a ball away.

"What are you thinking? I need to go back for New Year's Eve dinner. If they find out I'm fooling around with you, they'll beat me to death."

Ah Yong is only eighteen or nineteen years old. His family thinks he is too young and has not arranged any marriages for him.

Little did he know, he's now spending every day with Jiang Rou.

When Lin Tao left, he only left Jiang Rou two thousand yuan, said nothing else, and did not write or call her.

Feeling lonely, she came here to play billiards.

Now, besides dressing up and shopping, she spends her days sleeping with Ah Yong under the guise of playing billiards.

Lin Tao isn't coming back; we can't let her live a life of widowhood.

She's becoming more and more open-minded, and she's made friends with a woman who works in the sex industry. They talk about all sorts of pleasure-seeking things.

These days, she rents out the shop for fifty yuan a month and it's completely fallen into disrepair.

After giving up, she lived a very comfortable life. Her hands were as smooth as scallions, and her skin glowed.

She was in a good mood, but as soon as Li Damei arrived, her face fell.

"Aunt Li, didn't I tell you I'd give you extra money for the New Year? Is fifty yuan enough?"

She pulled five ten-yuan bills from her pocket.

Li Damei took the money and chuckled awkwardly.

“Your mother has been missing for most of the day. I think it’s best to look for her. It’s the Lunar New Year, and we don’t want her to get lost.”

She always acted very humble in front of Jiang Rou.

Since her family needed money, Jiang Rou was quite generous in giving money.

Jiang Rou said impatiently, "Let's go, let's go look for it together."

After all, she was Jiang Jianguo's wife, and for the sake of his savings account, she couldn't go too far.

No matter what, we should at least have a New Year's Eve dinner together.

Jiang Rou and Li Damei went to the places Feng Shuyao frequented to look for her.

After searching for a while without finding him, Li Damei was worried that something might happen to Jiang Jianguo if he stayed at home alone, so she went back.

Jiang Rou searched for a while, and as darkness fell and the lights of every house shone, creating a festive atmosphere, she felt a surge of anger.

She simply stopped looking and went home.

To everyone's surprise, just as they reached the door, they saw a man and a woman helping Feng Shuyao walk this way.

She quickly went to meet her.

"Mom, I told you not to run around like that, why don't you listen to me!"

Upon closer inspection, she realized that the person supporting her was Wang Wei.

Long-forgotten memories resurfaced, and the scene of being humiliated by him was still vivid in her mind.

She helped Feng Shuyao up, said a soft thank you, and turned to leave.

Wang Wei suddenly called out to her.

"Keep a close eye on your mother from now on, and don't let her wander around. If it weren't for us today, she might have fallen into the river and drowned."

Your mom!

Jiang Rou was so angry that she gritted her teeth.

What bad luck she's had to run into an old enemy during the Lunar New Year?

Her eyes darted around, she turned around, took out a hundred yuan from her pocket, and smilingly placed it in his hand.

"Thank you for bringing my mother back. And—you made me feel so good at the hotel before."

After saying that, she blinked one eye and gave him a flirtatious look.

Then, supporting Feng Shuyao, he swayed his waist as he entered the house.

A moment later, a woman's scream rang out from outside:

"Didn't you say you'd never slept with her? Give me a proper explanation!"

Jiang Rou returned to the house and released Feng Shuyao.

She walked toward Jiang Jianguo's room, intending to ask Li Damei if the New Year's Eve dinner was ready.

Then I saw her come out of the house with her hair all messy.

"Dinner is ready."

She walked towards the kitchen while tidying her clothes.

Jiang Rou was well-versed in matters between men and women, so how could she not know what the two of them had just been doing?

However, she just laughed it off and didn't intend to meddle.

Feng Shuyao isn't her biological mother, so what does her being cheated on have to do with her?

During the meal, Jiang Jianguo asked her if he could lend Li Damei 1,000 yuan.

This immediately offended her.

“Dad, it’s one thing for you and Sister-in-law Li to be flirting around, but why are you asking me for money? Pete only gives me a little living allowance, where am I going to get money to lend her?”

Jiang Rou spoke very rudely.

Jiang Jianguo was so angry that his body trembled.

"Didn't you say he left you two thousand yuan? The girl's family has some trouble and she urgently needs money. Can't you lend it to her first?"

"At worst, I'll pay you back when my savings account matures."

Jiang Rou's hand holding the bowl trembled; she was so angry her heart felt like it was bleeding.

"Dad, didn't you say you'd give me all that money? How come you're paying it back now? You're treating Aunt Li like family!"

The father and daughter argued back and forth, and couldn't even finish their meal.

Li Damei quickly tried to smooth things over:

"Forget it, I won't lend it to you. If I had known it would cause you two to argue, I wouldn't have asked."

Her words did not calm them down; instead, they added fuel to the fire.

Jiang Jianguo put his hand under the table and lifted it up, causing a table full of fish and meat to fall to the ground with a clatter.

"You wretched children, what use are you to me! You are all so selfish and self-centered!"

Jiang Rou looked at the mess on the ground and heard him say such heartless words; her heart was bleeding.

In the past, her father would try his best to buy her gifts to make her happy during holidays.

Why is he dissatisfied with everything she does now?

"Dad, you've gone too far. Ever since you got sick, I've been running around taking you to the doctor and spending money to hire a caregiver for you."

How come you've given me such a hard time, and won't even let me eat!

Do you know that you have another daughter named Jiang Ning? Has she fulfilled her responsibilities as a daughter?

Jiang Rou became more and more agitated as she spoke, tears and snot streaming down her face, ruining her makeup.

Seeing her in such a terrible state, sitting in her wheelchair, Jiang Jianguo was so anxious that he pounded his legs with his hands.

"Rou Rou, I'm sorry, I was too emotional just now. I shouldn't have treated you like that. I'll have Aunt Li make you some food right away."

Li Damei also rubbed the hem of her clothes and stammered:

"Jiang Rou, don't be angry with your dad. It's all my fault. I shouldn't have brought up the matter of borrowing money."

As she spoke, Feng Shuyao knelt down on the ground, picked up the fallen braised pork, and stuffed it into her mouth.

She quickly tried to pull it off.

Jiang Rou watched all this, ran her hands through her hair, and let out a cold laugh.

She felt that all of this was so absurd.

After a cold laugh, her face darkened.

“I need to find Jiang Ning. If this continues, I’ll go crazy. She has to take responsibility and not let me suffer this alone.”

As she spoke, she lifted her leg and walked out.

Jiang Jianguo hurriedly called her back.

"Don't go. Aren't you afraid she'll want a share of the money in your savings account?"

Jiang Rou gasped for breath: "I don't care anymore, I can't risk my life for money!"

As she lifted her leg again, Li Damei grabbed her arm once more.

"Don't go, she's not Jian Guo's child."
