Lin Chen and Luo Guangming kicked open the door and saw Gao Baoliang, who was drunk and dazed, on the bed. They were so angry that they roared at Ma Huiwen.
"Put on your clothes and get out!"
Ma Huiwen quickly put on her clothes and stumbled out the door.
Lin Chen looked so frightening that she didn't dare to say anything more to them.
"Come on, come home with us." Lin Chen patted Gao Baoliang's face.
Upon seeing Lin Chen, Gao Baoliang sobered up somewhat and began to wail loudly, clutching Lin Chen's clothes.
"Brother Chen, tell me, why is this happening! What did I do wrong that Jiaojiao is treating me like this! Why are you so lucky to have a wife who is so devoted to you?"
Lin Chen was so angry that he punched him and shouted:
"What's the point of saying all this now? Where were you before? You're usually such a decisive person, but when it comes to relationships, you become so hesitant and timid!"
I think it's not that Meng Jiao's feelings for you aren't deep enough, but rather that you're afraid of not getting anything in return for your efforts, which makes you hesitant and unable to fully commit.
I'm different from you. Once I knew your sister-in-law truly wanted to build a life with me, I trusted her completely and gave myself to her unconditionally. Because I knew that I would receive just as much in return for what I gave.
Gao Baoliang had never seen Lin Chen so angry before, and he was stunned for a moment.
Luo Guangming hurriedly went to help him up, "Baoliang, don't dwell on this anymore. What's done is done. You've already made things this far, which proves that your feelings for each other weren't so pure before. Accept it and let it go."
After listening to them, Gao Baoliang closed his eyes and let his tears fall.
......
After being driven away, Ma Huiwen hid to the side and watched the two men carry Gao Baoliang away, feeling depressed.
Such a high-quality man, and you let him go without even knowing his name.
Unwilling to give up, she went to the Huai residence again, hoping to find someone to ask what the name of the man she had picked up was.
Upon arriving at the Huai residence, they saw Ji Tingting walking out with a smug look on her face.
"Why haven't you left yet?" Ma Huiwen asked, puzzled.
Ji Tingting had a sweet smile on her lips; she was in a very good mood.
"Let me tell you, it turns out that the new junior from our high school lives in Huaifu. I just went to find him."
Ma Huiwen had heard her say that she had taken a liking to a new junior at school named Mo Wenqian and often tried to flirt with him, but he completely ignored her.
Jiang Rou even gave her advice, suggesting that she force herself on her.
Young boys are too young and naive to understand things, so they're easy to win over.
"So, did you manage to get it?" Ma Huiwen asked with a wicked grin.
Ji Tingting waved her hand, "His mother is the owner of Huaifu Restaurant, how could I dare to be presumptuous? I just pretended to borrow something to get closer to him."
My little brother is so easily embarrassed; he blushes as soon as I tease him.
She was in a good mood and answered whatever was asked.
When Ma Huiwen asked her about Gao Baoliang's name, she told her.
"So you've got your eye on him? He's a friend of a friend of my dad's. They only got close to my dad to make more money."
Ji Tingting revealed a malicious smile and told her about the relationship between Jiang Ning and Jiang Rou.
She knew she had a sister named Jiang Ning, but she never expected that Gao Baoliang was her friend.
"Jiang Ning is Jiang Ning, and he is himself. The fact that he was able to chase after his girlfriend from so far away shows that he is very loyal and devoted."
Ma Huiwen's goodwill towards Gao Baoliang remains undiminished.
Ji Tingting shrugged: "Whatever, they might not even be interested in you."
After saying that, he stuck out his tongue and walked away.
More than half an hour later, Ma Huiwen stepped into the courtyard, thinking about how to find Gao Baoliang next.
Her family lived in a small bungalow allocated by her father's work unit, with a yard of about ten square meters.
When she opened the gate to the yard, the person lying on the ground became particularly noticeable.
She was thin and dirty, with messy hair, and wearing a very old-fashioned blue cotton-padded jacket. She was lying on the ground motionless, with a two- or three-year-old child kneeling next to her.
Although the child's eyes were open, his face was numb, expressionless, and lifeless, with only a hint of sorrow in his eyes.
She rushed forward to check if the woman was dead or alive, feeling incredibly unlucky.
"Hey, you can't lie here, get out of my house."
Upon discovering that the woman was still breathing, she impatiently shook her body.
Unexpectedly, the woman slowly opened her sunken eyes, and her chapped lips moved slightly.
"Huiwen, it's me!"
Ma Huiwen then covered her mouth, her face full of surprise.
This woman turned out to be her older sister, Ma Huijuan.
Didn't they say she was swept away by the flood?
At the time, her father was seriously ill, and she wanted to notify her sister to come back, but received the devastating news that her sister had been swept away by the flood.
There was no way she could leave the house unattended, and she couldn't go to the countryside to inquire about the situation, so she could only accept this fact.
I really didn't expect that my sister was still alive.
And she even brought back a son.
She quickly carried Ma Huijuan into the house.
Ma Huijuan was so thin that she could be easily lifted up.
The little boy immediately followed them into the room.
The two looked around the house, and tears immediately streamed down their faces.
Just then, an old woman heard the noise and groped her way out of the room, asking Ma Huiwen if her eldest daughter had returned.
Her eyesight wasn't very good, but she heard the name Ma Huijuan.
"Mom, I'm home."
Ma Huijuan said in a barely audible voice.
Ma's mother quickly stepped forward, grabbed her hand, and burst into tears.
“Your father is gone. He died on the spot when he heard that you were swept away by the flood. I’m an old woman who’s gone blind too. Our family is all held together by Huiwen.”
