Chapter 225 Parents are not biologically related

On a sunny and breezy day, Jiang Ning walked briskly towards the bus stop.

I hadn't gone far when I sensed someone behind me.

She turned around and saw Jiang Rou dart behind a tree.

A few seconds later, Jiang Rou peeked out, wanting to follow, but then she heard Jiang Ning's voice behind her:

Why are you following me?

Jiang Rou's eyes darted away. "When did I follow you?"

Jiang Ning scoffed, "Then go ahead and leave. Let's see where you go."

“Fine, since we’ve run into each other, I’ll be frank with you. My dad’s illness is serious, and he needs to go to the hospital for surgery immediately. Give me 20,000 yuan!” Jiang Rou shamelessly stretched out her hand.

How could Jiang Ning possibly agree to such a request? She and Pete were in cahoots, stealing things to frame her. Maybe it was Jiang Ning who was plotting this behind the scenes!

“I’ve severed ties with my family. Don’t ask me for money again. I don’t have any now, and I never will. If you take the money, you won’t use it for Dad’s medical treatment, but to save Pete, right?” she refused resolutely.

After saying that, she went to get in the car.

Seeing that force wasn't working, Jiang Rou immediately changed her attitude and said in a pleading tone:

“We’re sisters, after all. Now that Dad’s money has been swindled away by the nanny, can you really bear to see them lose everything?”

Jiang Ning shook her off with a dark expression:

"That's your business, it has nothing to do with me."

Just then, a bus passed by, and she jumped on without hesitation.

Jiang Rou watched the departing bus, feeling so angry that she felt dizzy and couldn't recover for a long time while leaning against a tree.

Jiang Ning sat in the car, thinking about many things.

Although I don't want to have anything to do with my parents anymore, I still can't bear to see them being controlled by a nanny.

After getting off the bus, she found a secluded corner, entered the space, and returned to her original home.

As she stepped into the courtyard, memories from before she was eighteen years old resurfaced.

They had lived in many places before, from tenement buildings to bungalows, and this small courtyard was the last place they lived in. It must have been left by their grandparents.

It's not big, but it's much better than a tenement building.

However, only they were strong; the place she lived in was just a converted storage room, no different from before.

Her past memories were too painful to dwell on, so she went straight into her room.

She saw the nanny, Li Damei, massaging Jiang Jianguo's thighs while he was sitting in a wheelchair.

The two chatted and laughed, their eyes brimming with charm.

Feng Shuyao, on the other hand, sat on the cold ground like a child, playing with a dirty, tattered rag doll.

She was wearing clothes from five or six years ago, with tears in the collar and elbows that hadn't been mended. Her hair was messy and unwashed, and her face was covered in grime, a stark contrast to Jiang Jianguo, who was dressed in brand new clothes.

Jiang Ning instinctively covered her mouth to prevent her sobs from being heard.

She remembered that the doll was the only gift Feng Shuyao had ever bought for her.

I've been by her side since I was very young.

She treasures this doll.

Surprisingly, she accidentally dirtied the doll one time and was severely beaten by Feng Shuyao.

Unexpectedly, even after she developed dementia, she still remembered the doll that had been bought for her.

She couldn't help but walk over to her, squat down, and reach out to hug her.

She regretted not coming to see her sooner.

Just then, Aunt Li spoke up, her tone worried:

"I wonder if Xiaorou managed to get the money back from Jiang Ning?"

Jiang Jianguo grabbed her hand and rubbed it.

“Now that Rou Rou is in trouble, I certainly can’t stand idly by. If Jiang Ning doesn’t give it to me, I’ll go to her myself. If she still doesn’t give it to me, I’ll make a scene. I don’t believe she doesn’t care about her reputation.”

Jiang Ning's eyes, which had just been filled with tears, gradually turned angry.

Jiang Jianguo is indeed a repeat offender. When he was young, he had an affair with the woman who worked at the factory's bathhouse and even had a child with her. Now that he's old, he's having an affair with the nanny.

Poor Feng Shuyao, she knows nothing now, and they flirt and banter right under her nose without any restraint.

"Jianguo, you're so kind of you. You gave me so much money all at once, and my two sons' marriages are all settled now. I don't have to worry about it anymore." Li Damei sat on his lap with her plump bottom and her thick arms wrapped around his neck.

Jiang Ning really wanted to go up and slap each of those two bitches.

"Big sister, if you hadn't told me that Jiang Ning was switched at birth, I wouldn't have known she was a bastard. Luckily, I've always spoiled Rou Rou since she was little, so that brat never had a good life."

Jiang Ning's angry face froze instantly.

What did she just hear?

Switched babies? Bastard?

She is not Jiang Jianguo's biological daughter, nor even Feng Shuyao's daughter; she was switched at birth.

She desperately wanted to leave the space, grab Li Damei by the collar, and demand an explanation.

But the two of them started kissing and cuddling, so she had to stumble away first.

calm!

She forced herself to calm down.

If the two of them acted as if no one else was around, it's probably true.

And judging from their tone, they're not just talking about this now.

However, it's not impossible that Li Damei used lies to sow discord between Jiang Jianguo and Feng Shuyao, and then usurped their position.

After Jiang Ning came out of the space, she felt as if her heart was being squeezed, making her feel suffocated.

So, if she really wasn't their daughter, why would Jiang Jianguo, knowing this, still go to her for money?

Just now, she actually felt sorry for Feng Shuyao and wanted to go over and hug her!

That's ridiculous!

The parents I've called "parents" for eighteen years are not my biological parents.

Even knowing this, they still wanted to squeeze every last drop of value out of her.

This incident had a huge impact on her. She stood on the road, dazed, and almost got hit by a car.

A woman in her thirties pushed her away and then walked away with a five or six-year-old girl in her arms.

He was still muttering to himself:

"Niu Niu, you can't stand in the road. If you get hit by a car, Mommy will be heartbroken."

A man standing nearby, presumably the woman's husband, took the child and held her tightly in his arms, saying, "As long as I hold Niu Niu, nothing will happen."

She had never experienced such a typical scene of parents doting on their child.

What's even more devastating is that she doesn't even know who her biological parents are anymore!

Jiang Ning didn't know how she got home.

As soon as she entered the courtyard, Wang Xiufen and Lin Chen, who were drying things in the sun, greeted her with smiles.

She was too weak to answer and walked towards the backyard.

Lin Chen followed her inside, saying as they walked:

"Honey, do you know what happened to me just now? I went to level that piece of land today, and someone handed me their business card, saying they were loan sharks. They said we're not short of money, so why would we need their services..."

His voice grew softer and softer, sensing that something was wrong with his wife.

The person, who is usually always smiling, suddenly seemed to have a very low mood.

He quickly pulled the person into his arms.

"Wife, what's wrong?" He couldn't bear to see her unhappy; it broke his heart.

Jiang Ning turned to face him, grabbed his shirt by the chest, pulled him closer, buried her face in his chest, and burst into tears...
