After Song Jia made the bed and put the two children to sleep, she pulled Jiang Ning aside to sit down.
"I'm here to settle down and open a big restaurant," Song Jia said with a determined look in her eyes.
Jiang Ning still felt it was a bit risky for her, a woman raising two children while running a restaurant, and asked uneasily:
"Are you really planning to separate from Huo Xiao? Knowing Huo Xiao as I do, he wouldn't do anything to betray you!"
Song Jia got angry just thinking about it and sighed:
"He didn't do anything to wrong me, but I still feel uncomfortable."
As she spoke, she recounted several recent events to Jiang Ning in detail.
It turns out that since Xue Mei returned, she has repeatedly tried to get close to Huo's mother and the two children.
Xiaoling and Xiaoyu have been cared for by their grandmother since they were little.
Since my parents-in-law retired, I have devoted myself to taking care of them.
My mother-in-law also picks me up from kindergarten.
Xue Mei deliberately approached Huo's mother, taking advantage of her ignorance of their past grievances.
Not long ago, Song Jia was worried that Xue Mei would hurt the children, so she left work early to pick them up. She saw Xue Mei giving the children lollipops, and Huo's mother even allowed it.
She was furious on the spot, went over and scolded Xue Mei away, and even snatched all the children's lollipops and threw them on the ground.
The children, unaware of what was happening, burst into tears.
Huo's mother said a few words to Song Jia, telling her not to lose control of her emotions.
"Mom, Xue Mei is not a good person. Don't have anything to do with her in the future," Song Jia warned her.
However, Huo's mother thought she was making a fuss over nothing. She had met Xue Mei a few times and had even helped her carry things once. She thought Xue Mei was a very nice person.
Song Jia was furious. Only then did she realize that Huo's mother had been in contact with Xue Mei for a long time.
=After she got home, she told Huo Xiao that her parents would continue to pick up and drop off the child, as she was not comfortable with her mother-in-law doing it.
Huo Xiao's expression was not good.
"Aren't you making a mountain out of a molehill? We live in a society governed by the rule of law. Who would dare to do anything to the children?"
Song Jia was hit with another blow; for the first time, Huo Xiao seemed like a complete stranger.
"Have you forgotten how Xue Mei instigated others to poison me? Or have you forgotten how Xue Mei seduced you in the room?"
"Your parents don't know, so don't you know either?"
Huo Xiao listened to her words and patiently explained:
"Xue Mei has already been punished by law, so she shouldn't have broken the law again, right? Besides, her parents love their child so much, they would be heartbroken if they didn't let them pick her up and drop her off."
He felt that Song Jia still thought too badly of Xue Mei.
The two started arguing back and forth.
During the argument, she learned a shocking piece of news: Xue Mei had actually gotten back into Huo Xiao's textile factory through her mother's connections.
Although he was just a caretaker of the bathhouse, they were clearly in the same factory, so why did Huo Xiao never say anything?
Song Jia was extremely angry and immediately took her two children back to her parents' home.
After a night of internal struggle, she finally made up her mind to leave her hometown.
Since she couldn't change the fact that Xue Mei had appeared, she should just leave on her own.
She considered going to Guangzhou, but she didn't know anyone there, so she gave up.
Thinking back to my conversation with Jiang Ning, she was still so friendly and approachable. She had sold her restaurant and mustered up the courage to come to the capital.
She had made up her mind; no matter how difficult it was, she would stay in the capital.
After Song Jia finished speaking, Jiang Ning hugged her.
"Your concerns are valid. Some people are more evil than you can imagine. You can't wait until it happens to regret it."
"You can stay here without worry. As for the child's kindergarten enrollment, I'll look into it for you."
Song Jia was so moved she almost cried.
"Ningning, thank you. Don't worry, I will pull myself together and get my life back on track as soon as possible."
Over the next few days, Song Jia started looking for a location to open a restaurant.
The child was left at home, and Wang Xiufen was asked to look after him.
The child was originally quite introverted and very well-behaved. If you let him play with his toys, he would play with them; if you let him watch TV for a while, he would watch TV happily and wouldn't run around. He was very easy to take care of.
Wang Xiufen would give them extra fruit because she saw that they were too thin.
The two children soon started calling her "Grandma" affectionately.
That noon, Song Jia returned home after running around outside all morning.
I had just entered the living room and greeted the children when the phone rang.
Wang Xiufen was cooking, so she was asked to answer the call.
Unexpectedly, it was Huo Xiao who called her.
Huo Xiao called several times in the past few days, but Wang Xiufen answered each time.
Wang Xiufen told him that Song Jia wasn't there, but everything was fine, the children were fine too, and he didn't need to worry about her.
How could Huo Xiao not miss her? Hearing his wife's voice made his own voice hoarse.
"Honey, it was my fault. I was confused. Please don't ignore me, okay?"
"What did you do wrong? You have your reasons, your stance, and I don't blame you. Now, let's each live our own lives."
Song Jia spoke very resolutely.
Huo Xiao was almost in tears; his fingers gripping the microphone had turned white.
"Honey, you don't know, my mom has been crying her eyes out these past few days. If you hadn't come back soon, they would have gotten sick."
Since they themselves had no influence, they could only resort to invoking their parents.
Hearing this, Song Jia felt a pang of sadness, but she still forced back her tears and said:
"You should try to persuade them. I'm not blaming them, but I'm really afraid that Xue Mei will harm the children."
I definitely won't be going back in the next year or two. You all better take care of yourselves.
As she spoke, afraid that she would soften her heart, she hung up the phone.
