Chapter 407 Brother's Confession

Binbin cried with genuine emotion, and while crying, he kept repeating that he was very sad every day without his mother by his side, blah blah blah.

Hearing this, Yang Lu felt heartbroken and discussed it with Yang Xiu:

"Brother, living here isn't a long-term solution for me. Please let me go back."

Just as Gao Baoliang and Binbin exchanged a glance, thinking they had succeeded, Yang Xiu coldly said:

"Binbin, you really miss your mother, so why don't you move in with us? I'll take care of your schooling."

Binbin's tear-filled face froze, and it felt like if he cried now, it would be real tears.

“Mom, I don’t want to live here. I want you to come back with me.” He shook Yang Lu’s body.

Yang Xiu, however, picked him up like a puppy and moved him from next to Yang Lu to the other end of the sofa, a smile plastered on his face.

"Children shouldn't cling to their mothers like this, especially little boys. If you don't want to stay, leave after you finish your meal!"

Gao Baoliang suppressed his anger and winked at Binbin, telling him to calm down.

He then launched an attack on Yang Lu.

But before he could say more than a few words, Yang Xiu interrupted him again.

"Come to the kitchen and help me cook."

Gao Baoliang felt a throbbing pain in his temples. Was he really sick? He had a housekeeper at home but didn't use her to cook for himself. Was he trying to show how virtuous he was?

Yang Xiu spent more than an hour in the kitchen, directing him to do this and that, mostly odd jobs, while he took on all the cooking himself.

Just before dinner, Yang Ziqiang returned. Aunt Wu quickly came out of the house, took Yang Ziqiang's briefcase and put it away, then helped him take off his coat and hang it on the hanger.

"The son-in-law is here, helping with the cooking in the kitchen! Binbin is here too."

When Binbin saw his grandfather return, he quickly and loudly called out "Grandpa!"

While Yang Xiu was still in the kitchen, Yang Lu quickly said to her father:

"Dad, after we finish eating, I'm going home with Baoliang. You can try to persuade my older brother."

Yang Ziqiang nodded slightly and silently went into the house.

He flipped through the photo album and found pictures of Yang Xiu and Yang Lu when they were children. He ran his fingers over them, his heart heavy with worry.

After Gao Baoliang called him to dinner, he took a bottle of Moutai from the cabinet and went out.

"Baoliang is coming over today, let's have a drink together."

He sat down and asked Aunt Wu to pour him a glass of wine.

Yang Xiu, however, said with a stern face, "Dad, don't you know what's wrong with your stomach? And you're still drinking!"

He snatched the bottle and refused to let him drink it.

Yang Lu wanted to say that her father's stomach was much better now and he hadn't had a stomachache for several years, but she didn't say anything because of her older brother's tyranny.

During the meal, Yang Xiu kept piling food onto Yang Lu's plate, making her bowl almost look like a small mountain.

"Lulu, these are all your favorite foods. I made them especially for you. Please eat more."

Yang Lu looked at the dishes. She used to really like them, but her tastes had changed a lot. She liked many more dishes than before, and she would get tired of eating the same few dishes every day.

She still prefers Aunt Wang's cooking. She even created a special recipe book and makes different dishes every day, with a balanced mix of meat and vegetables for comprehensive nutrition.

But she didn't dare say it. If she did, her older brother would say that she was disgusted with him and that she was upset that he hadn't been home with her all these years.

Although Yang Ziqiang was forbidden from drinking, he himself drank quite a bit, as if he wanted to compete with Gao Baoliang to see who could drink more, one glass after another.

After drinking too much, he became more talkative, reminiscing about his childhood.

Yang Lu had forgotten many things, but he remembered them clearly.

"Lulu, do you remember when you were in junior high school, a boy drew on your back with an ink pen? I was furious when I saw it, so I found the boy and beat him up."

Yang Xiu looked proud.

Yang Lu exclaimed in surprise, "Big brother, no wonder the boy's eyes were red and swollen the next day, and he didn't dare to talk to me anymore. So you were the one who hit him! He actually likes me but doesn't know how to express it, so he used that method to get my attention!"

"So you never even noticed me?"

No sooner had she finished speaking than Yang Xiu's voice boomed in her ear.

She thought she had misheard and looked at him in astonishment.

Unexpectedly, Yang Xiu grabbed Yang Lu's hand and asked for confirmation again.

"Have you noticed me? I've always been there to protect you silently. Whenever there's something delicious or fun, you're the first person I think of. But you've only ever seen me as your older brother."

Yang Lu was terrified by his behavior and quickly pulled her hand away.

"Big brother, what are you saying?"

Gao Baoliang sensed something was wrong and quickly pulled Yang Lu away, making her sit down in a place away from Yang Xiu.

Yang Xiu, who is usually calm and collected and decisive in both technology and business, is now clinging to Yang Lu like a big dog, making her recall the innocent childhood days when the two of them were inseparable.

Yang Lu sat there, her body trembling slightly. She recalled how her older brother would sometimes show her affection when she was little, which made her very uncomfortable.

Because her older brother always looked after her, no boy dared to approach her until she went to university.

At that time, she was focused on her studies and didn't think anything of it.

Looking back now, it's not that no boy had ever shown interest in her; unfortunately, whenever they got even a little closer, the boys would be warned.

However, before she graduated, her older brother suddenly went abroad.

It was very difficult to go abroad at that time; you needed a recommendation from your work unit. Yang Ziqiang still used his connections to get him sent abroad.

After he went abroad, Yang Lu also graduated and found a job.

Yang Ziqiang then began arranging blind dates for her.

Just as she was lost in her memories, Yang Xiu, holding his wine glass, stood up again and walked towards her.

"Lulu, there's something I've wanted to tell you for a long time. Do you know how sad I was when I found out you were getting married?"

Do you know how I've been falling asleep all these years?

I think of you the moment I close my eyes, and I need sleeping pills to fall asleep every time.

Do you know how much it hurt me when I heard you were almost pushed into a miscarriage?

He finished the wine in his glass, then threw the glass aside and, with his hands like a pair of large pincers, pulled Yang Lu into his arms.

"Lulu, I like you. I've liked you for a long time!"

The sudden confession left everyone stunned.

Yang Lu struggled fiercely, and Gao Baoliang tried to pry her hands open, but he was afraid of squeezing Yang Lu's stomach, so he didn't dare to use too much force.

The group of people were pulling and tugging at each other, and the scene became chaotic.

Just then, Yang Ziqiang stepped forward and slapped Yang Xiu hard across the face.

"Stop! She's your sister! How could you have such thoughts!"

Awakened by the blow, Yang Xiu slowly released Yang Lu, looked at everything with dazed eyes, and took two steps back.

His face was stiff, his blank gaze sweeping over their faces before he finally managed to utter a single sentence.

"Dad, why do you insist on making her the younger sister? Why?"
