Chapter 43 Wedding Pranks

Lin Chen pulled Jiang Ning back: "Wife, there's no need to deal with him. I'll just have a few drinks to get rid of him!"

Jiang Ning chuckled: "Haven't you figured it out yet? These people are deliberately causing trouble. Don't worry, I can hold my liquor, I'll definitely drink them all under the table."

Not to mention alcohol, even if someone drinks poison, she can use the spiritual spring water to cure it.

Since she's looking for trouble, she won't be soft-hearted.

After hearing what she said, Shuanzi burst into laughter. "The way you put it makes it sound like I'm bullying you. Why don't you tell me how to drink it?"

His alcohol tolerance is probably second to last in Chayuan Village, if not first.

He refused to believe that a frail young woman could outdrink him.

Jiang Ning didn't say anything, but directly took out six bottles of Wuliangye from the box.

"You take three bottles, I'll take three bottles, let's see who finishes first!"

What?

Everyone was shocked!

These are three bottles of Wuliangye liquor, not three bottles of water!

I've never heard of someone surviving after drinking three jin (1.5 kg) of baijiu (Chinese liquor)!

Everything on the table was moved away, leaving only six bottles of wine! The lantern was lit, and the courtyard was brightly lit.

Jiang Ning and Shuanzi stood at opposite corners of the table, facing each other, surrounded by layers of people.

Even Lin Fugui, who was drunk and slumped over the table, was startled awake by the commotion and pointed at them, saying, "Nonsense!"

Shuanzi hesitated a bit: "Jiang Zhiqing, is it necessary to drink three bottles? How about one bottle to decide the winner?"

Jiang Ning chuckled: "Either drink three bottles and whoever collapses first loses, or get out of here right now!"

She glared at him, emphasizing the last word.

Shuanzi was both angry and annoyed, feeling like he was being roasted over a fire. He never expected that this woman could be more ruthless than a man when she got angry.

Just as he hesitated, Lin Tao squeezed in and chuckled, "Shuanzi, you're already scared? You're not really going to leave, are you?"

Provoked, Shuanzi picked up a bottle of wine, pried off the cap with his teeth, and uttered a harsh threat:

"Today, I'll show you what I, Shuanzi, am capable of!"

As he spoke, he picked up the bottle and started gulping down the liquor.

Jiang Ning also picked up a bottle of wine and tried hard to unscrew the cap, but failed. She had no choice but to hand the wine to Lin Chen.

Amidst the laughter of the crowd, Lin Chen uncapped the bottle and handed it to her.

"Are you sure everything's okay?"

He could trust her about anything, except when it came to drinking, because he wasn't very good at it, so he was quite apprehensive.

Jiang Ning winked at him, then tilted her head back and began to slowly drink.

Shuanzi quickly finished the bottle of wine, let out a burp, his face turned as red as a monkey's bottom, and laughed triumphantly:

"I'm fine!"

He picked up another bottle to drink, but Lin Fugui snatched the bottle away.

"Shuanzi, you really can't drink anymore, you'll drink yourself to death. Why bother arguing with them!"

His words did not stop Shuanzi; on the contrary, they fueled his fighting spirit even more.

If he can't even compare himself to a young woman, how will he ever be able to hold his head high again?

He snatched the bottle back and started gulping it down, while cheers erupted around him.

Unfortunately, he only drank half of the wine before he began to lose consciousness and vomit violently.

He would vomit and then drink again, then vomit again, repeating this process until Jiang Ning surpassed him and finished almost two bottles.

Everyone gasped in astonishment; she actually possessed such power.

Are you going to drink a third bottle?

Just as everyone's attention was focused on Jiang Ning's hand, with a "crash," the bottle fell to the ground.

"Take him away quickly," Lin Chen said to the group.

He drank himself into unconsciousness, and his life would be in danger if he wasn't treated immediately.

Shuanzi's friends panicked for a moment, then remembered why they had come, and jumped onto the table.

"Don't rush us away. We're all here for a wedding banquet, so why weren't any of us offered cigarettes?"

A pack of Furong cigarettes costs 25 cents; how can you afford to pay for every meal?

They arrived after dinner, so naturally no cigarettes were offered.

Lin Chen tried to explain at first, but the other party continued to argue unreasonably, so he asked the steward to bring over the book of favors.

"You keep saying you're here for the wedding banquet, but did you give a gift?"

My entire meal here includes a roast duck for seven yuan and eighty cents, three or four jin of pork (all top-grade meat), and all the other miscellaneous items, costing me fifteen yuan in total. You didn't even give a penny as a gift; are you trying to freeload?

The other party tried to argue, "You can't say that. They're guests, there to bring you joy. You should at least show some appreciation, right?"

In short, they just want to gain some advantage and benefits.

Lin Chen wouldn't teach them any bad habits, and let out a sneer:

"Bring us joy? With your ugly, deformed appearance, you'll probably just an eyesore! I'm saying this one last time, don't cause trouble here! Otherwise, I'll punch you all out of here!"

Unexpectedly, the group was already quite drunk and didn't listen to him at all. They even started harassing Jiang Ning and trying to touch her inappropriately.

Getting married? No fun, no excitement!

What wedding doesn't involve teasing the bride?

Before his hand was even a foot away, Lin Chen grabbed a chair and smashed it into his arm.

"You think I'm talking nonsense?"

He didn't care about anything else. He punched everyone who had been jeering at Shuanzi, either making their mouths bleed or making them writhe on the ground clutching their stomachs.

Facing the astonished gazes of the crowd, he pulled out several ten-yuan bills from his pocket, threw them on the ground, and spat out:

"Take the money and get out! You're not welcome here anymore. If you see me on the street, go around me!"

He wasn't afraid of them suing him at all. Even if they did win, all they'd get was a small amount of medical expenses.
