Chapter 469 Couple Turns Against Each Other

Lin Qiao usually doesn't like to get into conflicts with people, but this time she was really angered by Xiao Li, so she took out her phone and called the police.

Even after the police arrived, Xiao Li continued to argue, saying that the school shouldn't recruit Young Pioneers in batches, which upset the children and led them to snatch other children's red scarves.

Then they said that Luo Zhi punched Hao Hao, which was extremely malicious.

She even revealed that her husband was a high-ranking official.

The police officers were seasoned veterans in handling cases; they knew Xiao Li was someone they couldn't afford to offend, but they also knew she was clearly being unreasonable.

“It’s normal for conflicts to arise between classmates. The problem is that adults get involved. How about this, everyone take a step back and let’s not pursue it further?” The police officer acted as a peacemaker.

It's said that both sides have to compromise, but it's clear that the decision has already leaned towards Xiao Li's side.

Having come this far, Lin Qiao couldn't just let it go like this. She said to the police:

“I agree that we should both compromise, so let that child apologize to my daughter.”

Xiao Li was also someone who never suffered a loss; she stopped Hao Hao and refused to apologize no matter what.

In the end, the two sides parted on bad terms.

Seeing that neither side would back down, the police and the school had no choice but to transfer Hao Hao to another class to settle the matter.

When Lin Qiao led her two children home, her face still showed anger.

Jiang Ning saw this and quickly asked her what had happened.

"You don't know yet, do you? Xiao Li's husband is Li Jiabao."

After listening to what she had to say, Jiang Ning raised an eyebrow and told her the truth.

Lin Qiao panicked immediately, "Oh dear, Li Jiabao is a vengeful person. Offending him might be detrimental to the company, wouldn't it?"

She was indeed emotional when she handled this matter.

Jiang Ning chuckled at her flustered expression. "Don't worry, just wait and see. Li Jiabao is about to be in big trouble."

At this time, Li Jiabao also returned home from get off work. Dragging his tired body, he leaned back on the sofa and closed his eyes to rest.

When Xiao Li saw him, regardless of whether he was resting or not, she threw the documents at him and questioned him.

Is everything described here true?

Li Jiabao glared at her, picked up the documents, and turned pale with fright.

He never imagined that someone could dig up his past from many years ago, recording everything in detail, even more clearly than he remembered it himself.

"Where did these things come from?" Li Jiabao sat up and asked in return.

Xiao Li's mind was still consumed by anger; she could only ask:

"I'm asking you, are these things real or not? Answer me!"

"I'll never answer!" Li Jiabao stood up, threw the things back at her, and said through gritted teeth:

"Do you know what this means?! You're trying to kill me?!"

Seeing his flushed face, Xiao Li realized the seriousness of the situation.

“It was an anonymous package, and there was no sender on it,” she replied, trembling.

Actually, she just wanted to hear the truth that he had always cared about her and their son.

But Li Jiabao was now completely flustered, slumped onto the sofa with his head in his hands, his eyes darting around as he tried to think of a solution.

The more he thought about it, the more frightened he became. Large beads of sweat streamed down his back, his heart pounded, and his breathing became rapid.

To ease the tension, Xiao Li brought up things at school, naturally embellishing the story and belittling Lin Qiao and the twins.

Li Jiabao, however, caught the key information: Hao Hao had snatched someone else's things first and even scratched them.

"You're always looking for trouble. Luckily, things didn't escalate, or I wouldn't have let you off the hook!"

A crisp slap echoed through the living room.

Xiao Li covered her face, on the verge of tears. She had wanted to seek his protection, but instead, he slapped her instead.

The last time he went to her parents' house to pick her up, he promised that he would never lay a hand on her again or hurt her. Men's promises are all worthless; they can't be trusted at all.

This time, she didn't make a scene; instead, she went back to her room and quietly packed her luggage.

After a while, she came out of the house carrying a large suitcase and holding Hao Hao's hand.

As she reached the door, she glanced back at the person on the sofa. He sat there with his head down, showing no reaction whatsoever, seemingly indifferent to her coming or going.

Xiao Li gave a wry smile, took Hao Hao's hand, and resolutely left home.

As soon as she left, Li Jiabao started calling the airport to book a plane ticket while packing his things.

At this point, running away was his only option.

In fact, he knew this day would come sooner or later when he first received the money.

He's already made enough money, so he's gone abroad for political asylum, and nobody can do anything to him!

He packed a simple suitcase, then got into a taxi.

When he got off the car at the airport, he ran into an old acquaintance from work.

When people asked him if he was also going on a business trip, he gave them a perfunctory answer.

“That’s great, we can go the same way.” The man was completely oblivious to his unease.

While waiting to board his flight, an announcement came over the loudspeaker that his flight was delayed due to weather conditions.

He sat on a chair at the airport, feeling incredibly anxious, until the next day.

The weather got even worse, and the planes couldn't take off at all.

An acquaintance was recalled by his employer.

But he is still waiting anxiously.

Before long, he sensed that many people in front of him were watching him and seemed to be getting closer.

Is the government going to arrest him?

In his panic, he ran frantically out of the airport.

Since we can't fly, we have to leave the capital by car first.

After leaving the airport, he took advantage of a taxi driver getting out to relieve himself, climbed into the driver's seat, and sped away.

The driver naturally called the police.

Before long, a scene of speed and passion, a chase, unfolded on the highway.

The car drove several hundred kilometers out of the city and entered a stretch of rural road.

He was nervous as he watched the police cars relentlessly pursuing him. At a bend in the road, he and his car plunged into the slope beside him.

By the time the police arrived, the car was already smoking. If it weren't for the timely rescue, Li Jiabao would probably have been burned to death.

Li Jiabao was sent to the hospital and, after some emergency treatment, his life was saved. However, he suffered multiple rib fractures, as well as fractures in his lower leg and arm, and will need to rest for at least several months to recover.

After he woke up, the police questioned him about stealing the car.

Xiao Li came over when she heard the news. When she learned from the police that he wanted to run away, her mind went blank, as if a torrential rain was pouring down outside.

The government also sent an investigation team to question him and Xiao Li about the situation.

After realizing he had overreacted, Li Jiabao immediately changed his story, saying that he went abroad only to visit his family.

Xiao Li showed him no mercy and told him everything she knew.

What could be more terrifying than the infighting between husband and wife?

If Xiao Li hadn't been heartbroken, why would she betray her husband?
