Chapter 93 Lin Qiao, hang in there!

The wind and rain raged, and Li Jianfeng was soaked to the bone, the rain blurring his vision.

He took a rock and smashed it against the lock on the door. Once, twice, the lock was finally broken. He kicked the door open and rushed inside.

Lightning flashed across the sky from time to time, and by the dim light, he saw Lin Qiao leaning against the wall with her head tilted to the side.

He rushed over and picked her up.

"Lin Qiao, hang in there, I'll take you to the infirmary."

He carried Lin Qiao and rushed outside. Just as they reached the door, a thunderclap rang in their ears and struck a large tree nearby.

The tree was split in two, and one half of the tree trunk crashed down toward the old auditorium.

Suddenly, the roof of the old auditorium was subjected to heavy pressure, and the beams made a cracking sound as they broke into several pieces and fell down.

Li Jianfeng rushed out the door, but ultimately couldn't escape being hit by the falling object.

Fortunately, he pushed Lin Qiao away, and the two of them lay on the ground, unable to move for a moment.

Li Jianfeng felt a piercing pain in his right leg. When he turned around, he saw a broken piece of wood embedded in his right calf.

The downpour showed no signs of stopping, and the campus was deserted in the rain.

He could shout himself hoarse and no one would come.

Lin Qiao lay on the ground, her pale face washed by the rain, completely unconscious.

He has to stand up for himself.

He moved his left leg and found that although it was pinned down by something, he could get it free with a little effort.

After his left leg came out, he curled up and pulled his right leg out of the rubble as well.

Then, with a heavy heart, he lifted the wood that was stuck in his flesh and pulled it out.

A gush of blood suddenly gushed out, staining the ground red.

Ignoring the pain, he tore off a strip of cloth from his trouser leg, quickly bandaged the wound, and then carried Lin Qiao to the infirmary.

Every step he took felt like walking on a knife's edge, yet he gritted his teeth and didn't utter a sound.

It took them more than ten minutes to reach the infirmary.

When the school doctor saw him, he muttered, "How did he get like this?" and told him to put the person on the bed.

After examination, it was found that Lin Qiao had only fainted and was not seriously injured. She would wake up after taking some medicine.

The school doctor asked a female classmate to change Lin Qiao into a clean set of clothes and then let her lie down in the infirmary.

After settling her in, they discovered that Li Jianfeng's leg was bleeding.

"You silly child, you didn't even know you hurt your leg. Here, let me bandage it for you."

Li Jianfeng's leg was cleaned and treated by the school doctor, and then wrapped with gauze.

As he prepared to leave, he lowered his eyes and pleaded:

"Could you please not tell her that I carried her here? It's not good for her."

The school doctor was an elderly man in his seventies. He was said to have been a surgeon at the county hospital, but was persecuted and ended up at No. 6 Middle School. He understood the negative impact Li Jianfeng mentioned and nodded silently.

Despite the wind and rain, Li Jianfeng rushed out of the infirmary.

Soon after, Lin Qiao woke up and looked around blankly.

"You're lucky. Someone brought you here. I heard that old auditorium is completely dilapidated."

The school doctor chatted with her and helped her gradually regain her senses.

Lin Qiao slowly recalled that she seemed to have been carried out, and then there was cold rain hitting her face. She tried to open her eyes, but only saw a blurry figure, and then she knew nothing more.

"Could you tell me who brought me here?" she asked.

The school doctor shook his head: "Student, you'd better not ask. If rumors spread, it won't be good for anyone."

Lin Qiao then realized that the person who brought her there must have been a boy.

Could it be Li Jianfeng?

The next day, she watched Li Jianfeng limp into the classroom and went straight to the point with him.

"No," he firmly denied.

However, some bad rumors began to circulate in the classroom, saying that Lin Qiao had fainted in the old auditorium and that a boy had saved her and even carried her.

Lin Qiao was furious and wanted to know where the rumors came from, only to see Gao Xiaolan looking at her smugly.

She remembered that the female classmate who had informed her was often with Gao Xiaolan.

This time, it must have been her doing again.

Without saying a word, she called the girl out of the classroom and, through a combination of coercion and enticement, got her to reveal Gao Xiaolan's identity.

Lin Qiao didn't say much and reported the matter directly to the school.

The school took it very seriously and sent people to investigate.

Gao Xiaolan vehemently denied it.

"What evidence do you have to prove that I instigated this? She must be jealous that I was able to participate in the recruitment exam, that's why she framed me like this! It's so malicious. She dragged both Lin Qiao and me down, so she has no competitors. What a brilliant scheme to kill two birds with one stone!"

Not only did she deny it, she also turned the tables and accused the perpetrator.

The girl was indeed qualified to take the job recruitment exam; she was utterly speechless and could only repeatedly emphasize:

"Gao Xiaolan, it was clearly you, yet you still promised to give me ten yuan after the matter was settled."

You can't do this! I only wanted to help you lock her up, but I never expected the auditorium to collapse!

The more she tried to explain, the worse it got, and since she couldn't produce any evidence that Gao Xiaolan had instructed her, the school had no choice but to deal with her first.

Not only was she disqualified from taking the job recruitment exam, but she was also forced to drop out of school.

"Gao Xiaolan, you'll get your comeuppance!" she shouted fiercely as she was dragged out of the classroom.

Lin Qiao was also filled with resentment.

When Gao Xiaolan was walking home from school, she followed her out of the school gate, then pinned her to the ground and beat her up.

The torrential rain continued, and Gao Xiaolan was covered in mud and water, her face burning with pain. If Li Jianfeng hadn't arrived in time, she probably would have been beaten to a pulp.

Seeing Gao Xiaolan being released, Lin Qiao became even angrier and yelled at Li Jianfeng:

Why did you help her?

Li Jianfeng's heart skipped a beat. He wasn't helping Gao Xiaolan at all; he was worried that she would faint again if she got soaked in the rain for too long.

"You've been standing in the rain for so long, what if you faint? Are you just waiting for some guy to carry you to the infirmary?"

His words of concern came out differently.

Lin Qiao was furious. She ignored him and stormed off to her dormitory.

Brother, you have a sharp eye. Li Jianfeng isn't worth being friends with.

When they returned to class, the two deskmates no longer spoke to each other.

......

Ma Huijuan was in pain for a day and a night, but the baby was not born.

Yu Xiaofeng found a midwife, who went outside to deliver two more babies. When she came back, the babies still showed no signs of coming out.

"If this continues, the baby might not be okay. We'll have to use pliers."

The midwife, very experienced, took out a metal clamp.

The clip was at least three or four centimeters wide; it was difficult to even put it in.

Ma Huijuan felt as if something was twisting her body, the pain was so intense that she became numb and stopped screaming, staring blankly into the void.

Outside, the wind and rain relentlessly battered the exterior walls of the house.

With a scream, the child was finally pulled out.
